This is a new facility since the last time we ventured to Iowa. Interestingly enough, just around the corner from where we are headed to. It's spacious and clean. The staff is nice although one of the kids behind the counter was eating something. I asked which donut and was told it's something they don't sell there. Never will I be going into Hurts Donuts again. The workers literally watched me and my friend walk in and didn't greet us at all. We stood at the counter for a few minutes to see if they'd come and help and they never did. So we decided to leave and they watched us walk out. I have been multiple times and I love the donuts. Everything is so good. It might be a little pricy but you are getting the quality for it. The cotton candy donut is insane! It's so good. So is maple bacon, and really all of them. Not a fan of some of the cream filled ones but that's a me problem and other people said they were great. It's also really spacious for a donut shop. Really Cool set up! You can see the employees making the donuts and sweet treats as you walk-in/ wait in line. They have a lot of options to choose from, even donut holes. The I tried the "Old Fashioned" and it was delicious to the last bite. It was not too dense or too fluffy. The glaze was great, not like some where it flakes on your fingers or tastes off. The red velvet was really good too. It was like a slice a cake but not overly sweet and the cream cheese icing was spot on. Hurts Donuts is a cute donut shop that features fun, decorated donuts with both traditional flavors and plenty of non traditional flavors too. My personal favorites are The Homer, a pink frosted and rainbow sprinkled yeast donut followed by their Cosmic Brownie donut, a double chocolate cake donut chocolate frosted to perfection and topped with little colored chocolate bites... so. much. chocolate. SO GOOD! I haven't tried their cinnamon roll that is as big as my face. If I'm honest, it's simply intimidating, and I always want to order it but never do because, "I can't eat that by myself"... but, let's be real, I CAN eat it by myself and the next time I go, I will.
