64 oz growler of their cold brew.
    Maria A.

Liked their cold brew so much we ended up stopping by on our way back to Chicago to grab a 64 oz growler. I am set for the week. They were out of Nitro so we couldn't try any of their nitro infused cold brew drinks. Hubby got the vanilla infused cold brew while I got the chocolate based cold brew. Both were tasty but a little stronger than what I'm used to. Staff is super friendly and quite helpful.

Cute place! We frequent Dunn's bros often (drive thru) on 53rd But I stopped in this location during a crazy snow storm. I had an hour to kill and wanted warm coffee! There were quite a few people inside, but it was nice and quiet and the vibe was perfect! Comfortable chairs, friendly staff, and amazing coffee. Annnnd the cookie was good too!

My boyfriend and I came here. Large parking space, outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor seating is a little crowded but it is very cute. The inside is decorated adorably. The barista was new, but she did a good job. Two coffees (medium and large) were about $8, so that isn't too bad in my opinion. The only problem was that neither my boyfriend or I enjoyed our coffee. I think it was just too much espresso, so I might have to change my order, but it just wasn't too good. I'm sure there are other things that would have been better suiting. I'm not sure if I would go again.

I really like the relaxed atmosphere inside. Plus they seem to roast their own beans here. Today I tried the medium blend and love it. I'm excited they also carry my favorite, Papua New Guinea.

Dunn Bros in Coralville is my go to almost every morning! The owners are so kind and accommodating when I stop by! They never forget my pup cups either! Would recommend the iced sugar free vanilla nirvana or iced vanilla latte at least 3-4x a week

I came here because on Sundays, "The Crepe Guy" makes and serves crepes here. It is a treat for sure! He serves here on Sundays and at the Freight Market on Saturdays. He offers a choice of "sweet" or "savory", with ingredients varying each day he serves. Check out the pics from the day we came in for crepes and coffee! If crepes aren't your thing, you can still get a great coffee and a bakery treat. It really will satisfy your morning cravings. Only drawback is that while there is plenty of seating, it's not as easy to find a seat on a crowded Sunday, especially if the weather isn't hospitable for sitting outside.

    Awesome atmosphere!

I have to admit that I'm a Dunn Bros Coffee ADDICT now. After visiting with my friend Stephanie over the summer, I was introduced to Bulletproof™ Coffee. This is where cold-pressed coffee is spun with coconut oil and butter. Since I'm a vegan, I omit the butter and opt for a flavored syrup instead. TIP: Try a Bulletproof Light Roast, omit the butter and add 3 pumps of pumpkin syrup. It is pure HEAVEN. The staff at Dunn Bros Coffee know me now as a regular. They always greet me with a smile and there is a very neighborly feel to the environment. Also a great area to work on projects, if need be...as they offer WiFi and beautiful seating. For those of you addicted to Starbucks, I urge you to try something different and stop by at Dunn Bros Coffee. I promise you won't regret it. ;-) -Adam xoxo

Excellent coffee here. I always get the banana nirvana and it's excellent. The app is super handy and makes it super quick to pay.

"Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble"…read more After the less-than-stellar americano at 392Caffee, Emily and I decided to get more coffee later in the day and Coffee Apothecary happened to be right around the corner from Five Cities Brewing. Talk about convenient. So, after a few beers and the best meal, we dropped in for one last hit of caffeine before finishing out the day exploring. When we walked in, they had just burnt some bacon, so the place was filled with smoke. Kinda fits the Apothecary theme, in my opinion. Since we had just eaten a big meal at Five Cities, we opted for just a drink. Emily got their special HeLa CELL and I got my usual americano. They were out of brown sugar for the HeLa CELL so Emily got it substituted with caramel. We waited just a few minutes for the drinks to be ready and decided that despite the smoke that was lingering around, we would sit there and play some Uno while recharging our batteries. This americano was exactly what I wanted all day. It was dark and bitter and delicious. I sampled Emily's drink and the foam and salt and caramel were a perfect combo. Compared to the other coffeehouse we visited, this one felt more traditional. It's a bit smaller so large groups might have to sit outside or divvy up between tables. As for the aesthetics of the place, they really play into the apothecary theme. It felt rustic and antique in there, between the decor and the images on the wall. It almost reminded me of Little Raven Creamery that was open in Peoria at one point. If you find yourself in the Quad Cities and want a nice change of pace from your usual coffeehouse, give Coffee Apothecary a try. Hopefully the burnt bacon smoke will be gone by then. Not entirely sure why one of the workers didn't prop a door open to help air it out but it was like 95 degrees outside so... don't blame them for wanting to keep the shop cool. Sidenote: I do wish they had their logo that I saw on their Facebook available on either a magnet, sticker, or shirt. I love the look and vibe of plague doctors so to have that on something I can put up at home or wear would be sweet. Maybe they will have some merch in the future! Until then, stay caffeinated!

I would hope that the Sorting Hat would seat me in House Coffee…read more Emily and I decided to hit up the Quad Cities as our last hurrah of the year. I made my usual list and she picked the places to go and this coffee house was one of our first stops. We nearly missed it as the parking lot can come up on your pretty fast due to the location but we made it without issue. Upon entering, we were greeted to a nice and pleasant coffeehouse filled with plants and cozy. We got in line and that's when I noticed the Specials menu was Harry Potter themed. I stuck with my usual americano but Emily got the Three Broomsticks. The baristas were super nice and since there were a few people ahead of us, we took the time before our drinks came out to browse the area. In the side area where we sat for awhile is a bookshelf and board game section. I always love to see a coffeehouse lean into board games and books. I believe the books were also 'leave one, take one' so if you need something to read, this place has plenty to pick from. There is also a counter in this area but I didn't really see the purpose for it as there were no menus or anything. Possibly for food but I wasn't for sure. Emily and I chilled in this area for a bit before switching back to the main area. On our way over, Emily grabbed a shirt to take home with her. While we sat there, Emily was in love with the vibes, aesthetics, and plants of the place. But, how were the drinks? Delicious. My americano made up for the last few I had that were weak by being borderline too bitter. I wasn't upset about that at all. I will say that the ice was super compact and filled to the top so the 24oz felt like maybe half that with how quickly it disappeared. I ended up taking the water they had out and topping it off a few times before we left. And how was the Three Broomsticks? Emily said it was incredible with a smile on her face. I took a small sip and I would have to agree. If I had her foam on my americano, it would've been a match in heaven. Coffee House Cafe and Goods was a wonderful stop. I really liked the Harry Potter-themed drinks, I really liked the vibes and friendliness of the place. I just wish getting into the parking lot didn't feel like pulling a move out of a Fast and the Furious movie.

Review Visit: April 10th, 2017…read more Aroma = Amora. Aroma backwards is Amora and Amora means 'love' in Spanish. I do love some good coffee, but do I love Aroma? Yes. Aroma was fantastic. When driving to it, it was a bit hard to find due to it being tucked in with a placed called The Green Thumbers, which is a pretty nifty gardening store in itself. So aside from being attached to a gardening store, it is a full-fledged cafe/coffeehouse on it's own. Upon entering, the staff was super nice and struck up a conversation and asked what I was doing today. Told them the boring part of my business reasons for being in the area, but also the fact that I like to try new coffee places while out and about. They offer a large variety of coffees, lattes, frappes, baked goods, sandwiches, salads and more. I ended up just getting a specialty drink called 'The Tuxedo', which was hot espresso and milk with white and dark Mocha added to it. It sounded pretty good and it did not disappoint at all. In their display of baked goods, they had a chocolate peanut butter cookie that was calling my name... or my sweet tooth was calling for it. Either way, I requested that along with my coffee. The barista even offered to warm it up. I tell you, this may be one of the best cookies I have ever had. I've had some of the best across Illinois, especially at Insomnia Cookies, and this place may rival them on the cookie level. The interior is very formal with out being too formal. It felt cozy but modern. Everything was gray/white/black with nice furniture and some wall decor. But the best part? The two stuffed bears in there. One was about 5 feet tall and there was a baby bear on the other side of the chair, holding a coffee cup. You can see them below. They aren't taxidermy bears mind you, but stuffed plush bears from the store it is attached to. This is the second coffeehouse I have been to with bears in it, the first being Thirty-Thirty Coffee Co. in Peoria, IL. Bears and Coffee go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly... maybe? No bear puns yet? That's un-bear-able! Overall, Aroma Coffee is Amora indeed! The coffee was great, the cookie was beyond amazing and getting your photo taken with the bear is an added bonus. Aside from it being a bit hidden so one could easily drive by, it is worth hunting for. The coffee/cookies that is. Not the adorable bears inside.
