Dunkin' in Colonie was a great stop! The entire place was crisp, clean, bright and the smiling manager behind the counter was fast and fun. He was a happy camper. His girl associate was also happy. This Dunkin' had this je ne sais quoi; the two team mates were just having a good time, working, laughing, making strong espressos and the girl was shuttling trays of coffee out the drive-thru. Bad Service. I stopped into Dunkin Donuts on wolf rd. as I do quite often to get some donuts. The donuts were mislabeled and I had asked for one of the mislabeled donuts as one of my choices. The employee picked the donut in the tray next to it and when I pointed out his mistake, he insisted that was the donut I had asked for. I insisted he give me the donut I asked for, He said he did. I called over another person over, She had a shaved head and tattoos. I only provide this description so there is no mistake who I am talking about. I said to her, I asked for this particular donut labeled in the front of the tray. She also stated it was the donut I asked for. She knew the labels and switched them to the right positions right in front of me. Then she gave me a look like there, is that better. I told her I wasn't a psychic so how would I know they were mislabeled. She told me I didn't have to get sarcastic. I looked at her and said Goodbye. I left the bag on the counter and walked out. This is probably the only Dunkin' in the area I'll give five stars. I know, I know, all Dunkin' are the same you say. Yes, maybe for offerings and food quality, but service is different, and I am big on service. This is my favorite one because the service is exceptional and the place is never as busy as some of the ones that have Manhattan style traffic jams in their drive throughs. Plus the servers here are so nice and attentive; I sometimes feel I am in a Chick Filet. I tried the new breakfast taco and it wasn't bad. Little small for guy my size. Reminded me of the small Mexican street tacos. The app has a special for two which would hit the spot for morning breakfast, but since I also had a fritter, this man had to resist temptation. This location has the best service in the capital region! Seriously, very friendly and attentive no matter what time of day whether it's 5 o'clock in the morning or 5 o'clock at night. Mobile ordered my coffee and pulled up to the drive thru and they said they did not have my order yet and said I had to give the order about 10 minutes before it would show up for them to make. This is not my first mobile order at Dunkin, and I have NEVER had to wait for more then a minute or two for my order to be ready. As a matter of fact there have been times I ordered in the store and it was ready so fast that it was sitting on the pick up line and I didn't even dream it would be ready yet. So I ask the girl if I pull up can she just verify the order and make my XL winter blend coffee black. She said to pull up and she handed me the coffee and continued to blame me for ordering to close to when I was going to be there to pick up. If the there was a line of customers I could get a delay but there were 0 customers in the store and only one car a head of me in the drive thru. There are tons of Dunkin's in the town drive a little out of the way and avoid this store. read more

WOLF ROAD DUNKIN NY....Do not plan on being treated well here, even if you are a frequent customer! This is not Starbucks (that strives to treat each customer like they have value regardless of age, vehicle, appearance, or mood)! There is never a line at the DD Wolf Road when I was there. Maybe we are not the only customers they have failed. So many times we have received poor drinks or the wrong thing and didn't complain . I wish we stopped going before this experience. After stopping there almost every day, my passenger was queasy last week and needed something to eat. (She eventually did get sick after this experience-- and could not go to work) When I placed the Dunkin order, I was told they had no food. No food?? May passenger needed something in her stomach, so I stopped at the window as I thought I heard wrong. It was unbelievable they had NOTHING to eat!! Then the employee snidely commented she could have a donut ... "that is food"! Well that is not what would settle a stomach. Is it really truly food? That's a different debate. My passenger was noticeably sick and she asked, "can I just have a cup of water then". The employee said that will cost you .75. Really? DD had no food for this frequent customer...didn't apologize for wasting our trip, and it was obvious she was sick .... And DD had to get .75 for a cup of water? I spent much more than that on gas to get there! My god, don't stop at Wolf Road Dunkin and choke or feel faint, because you won't get water without .75. So, I guess they will let you pass out or worse. The supervisor was as bad as the window attendant when I mentioned this experience to her, she said they had to charge for the "customer service"!!! What customer service? After sharing the ordeal with corporate thinking there should be some oversight and better discretion regarding when it might be a good idea to "comp" a water to a customer...like ... when they are sick and you lack FOOD... It became apparent we are not dealing with a customer friendly franchise. I received a call from a loud defensive voice with the sound of a speaker echoing this morning. I believe it was a manager but didn't catch it. Oh my, all he did was give his reasons why it is NECESSARY to charge for cups. He did not say one kind or thoughtful thing. It was as if he had to present a talking point for an audience without any mention of the CIRCUMSTANCES! But, he did mention he watched the video and ... hello... so if we looked like hell ... it was okay to treat us accordingly and not even rush a cup of water when they failed to post a sign they had no FOOD. We could have gone to McD where they have food and free water! Mind movie....Esmeralda charging sickly Quasimodo for water? "That will be .75 first!" My DD app is now deleted and I informed my passenger we can't support an undeserving franchise. I felt Corporate reps I spoke to seemed to understand there are times to care and be kind to a customer. Maybe give away that .14 for a cup you charge .75 for. I told the echoing voice on the phone this am....it doesn't matter what you do for a job or how much you make... if you are really really good at it, people will notice and remember you. Today I realized that works both ways as he dismissed me. I hope they read this and rethink it all. HMmmm .. thinking about Starbucks. Most times I buy my favorite caramel Machiato, they give me a large ice water for free to take medication. They often give me drinks they make incorrectly versus throwing them out.... And I realize how awesome this company is. They help their employees be really really good at their jobs and I notice. This location is a joke. Place an order online. You get there to pick it up. Walk in to see them all chatting it up. Social hour. Meanwhile they haven't acknowledged you with you standing there for 5 mins. When they do finally acknowledge you. They tell you they don't have half of your order. Since they don't have what it takes to make it. Eggs lol. Total joke. They don't even bother calling you to ask you if you want something else. They just don't start preparing the order. Started coming to this location after PT down the road. It's a very busy place, the drive through is long but it moves. The lines at Starbucks are equally as long. Just saying...People want their morning coffee fix. That said I've really never waited more than 5-10 minutes between hours of 8-8:30am. They are always accurate and the donuts are consistently FRESH which is NOT the case with many other DD locations. Also they actually have munchkins in all flavors and have never once been out of stock of any food item I've ever ordered. I was a little surprised to read reviews. Zero stars. Quite possibly the WORST Dunkin Donuts I have ever been to. The drive thru line was extremely long and then they couldn't even manage to get the order right (ordered 3 things). They were not even busy and in the drive through they gave me the totally wrong drinks with wrong labels on them, and when I got my new drinks, there was no espresso in my drink that I paid for. Today I watched as a young women was made to go out and pick up garbage cans, and instead of a manager or coworker joining to assist her, another passerby got out of their car and took it upon themselves to help. Now I know the manager joel is slow, and I've always looked the other way at his insensitive and borderline racist activity, but now it's apparent that he simply takes advantage of the system. He's fully capable of doing a physical job, but sends the smallest employee, more than likely because he simply did not want to. This coffee chain is the absolute worst. The coffee has no flavor, the prices are too high, and the food looks much better in the pictures- typical, I know. I ordered the caramel iced mocha and took the first sip upon being handed it and almost spit it out. It had NO caramel in it, and tasted like butter old iced coffee. When I asked the person behind the counter to put a lot more flavoring in it, he was kind, however the workers behind him were constantly rolling their eyes. Usually I'm not so picky but when a customer takes the time to walk into the store to place an order employees shouldn't let him stand there without even acknowledging his presence with a simple I'll be right with you sir or we're busy give me a moment. Several employees looked right at me, walked by and never said a word. They appeared understaffed though I did hear other voices in the back room having a conversation that apparently had nothing to do with the Dunkin' Donuts business.
