Heads up, go for breakfast and prepare that it may be a wait. We got every few weeks or so, and it's usually a bit of a wait but that's fine. I know they're open for dinner, but we haven't made it for that yet. The host/server/main man (who I think is also the owner's husband?) is very kind and will seat you upon availability. I'm grateful that they have ample coffee and tomato juice depending upon my mood (I love tomato juice). Better half and I normally get the burritos (SO solid), though I got the benny last time and it was quite good. The hollandaise didn't taste all weird and packet-y, and the eggs were a bit over but I'll take that over undercooked egg whites. The hashbrowns were CRISP, like better than Waffle House crisp. I will say, better half's cheese grits last time were...well, inedible. Overly watery, cold to the point the cheese wouldn't melt, etc. However, the excellent burrito made up for that. Everyone who works here is friendly, it's clean, and the overall atmosphere is nice. Truly, they want to please. I really want them to succeed, so give them a try. This is a nice place that is locally owned in a sea of chain restaurants, so you could do worse than trying them out.

It balances perfectly. We also got the bonuts. They are little donut homes made of biscuit dough and covered with cinnamon sugar. There are several dips you can get. I recommend the bourbon maple cream cheese. So good! My wife and daughter both got a biscuit sandwich. One with chicken and an egg over easy with sausage gravy. The other with chicken pepper jelly and goat cheese. Both great. We also tried the Frenchie with strawberries and blueberries. It was very good as well. The coffee is good ass well. Overall the food was marvelous. The restaurant is cute with a diner vibe to it. It there is one thing I didn't like it is that this needs to be a full service restaurant. It is counter service and with so much on the menu, it is hard to make quick choices. That is a small price to pay for such great food. Definitely recommend!

It was very crowded outside and inside. We walked inside and there were 2 vacant tables. I stood by a table while we waited to place a takeout order. It was a long 8 minute wait. I looked around and was surprised at how many people were enjoying mimosa's and other drinks. I didn't see any dirty martini's. I ordered the biscuit and sausage gravy. The biscuit has noticeable bacon bits and cheddar. The sausage gravy had bits of sausage and I could definitely taste cream. In my humble opinion I prefer a biscuit without added bacon and cheddar. I prefer milk or half and half versus cream in my gravy. Others may disagree and that's ok. All of us do not have the same palate. 4/5 Dave ordered Dad's Egg Sandwich. The sandwich was ok. I make egg sandwiches multiple times a week for Dave. I suppose I expected more than the sandwich delivered. 4/5 The visit was marred by the near 28 minute wait for our food. The kitchen cooked our food and a bag sat on the counter for a while. It was the same location delivery drivers were picking up food. After several orders were delivered for people that came in after us, I sent Dave to inquire about our food. The bag was our order and was sitting on the counter...getting cold. Dave's name was not called out when the order was ready. We were 5 feet from the counter. I may return again to check out other foods on the menu. I did not discount the review for the late and cold food. If you are into brunch foods and drinks, please visit this locally owned restaurant. 4/5

It was 0930. Inside there were a dozen seniors enjoying breakfast. One of the ladies told us to take a seat anywhere and she would bring us menus after she dropped off 3 plates of food. The plates looked good. I ordered a 3 egg ham and cheese western omelet that a biscuit, gravy, and grits. Dave likes hash browns so I got an order of the browns for him. The omelet was good. The biscuit and gravy were better. I read an article somewhere. I don't remember where about the best biscuits and gravy in the state of Alabama. Bubby's diner was second place. I see why they were ranked high!!! 5/5 I heard a man in the diner talking up his patty melt. He told his companion she did not know what she was missing. I was at the counter so I did not turn around to search for the man. A patty melt sounded good to me so I ordered one. The patty melt was placed on top of thick marbled rye bread. The actual patties inside were cooked well, moist, and flavorful. I enjoyed the panty melt! Dave said too much rye bread took away from the taste of the patties.. i think if the patties were served on thinner bread or sourdough, the patty melt would earn that extra star. 4/5 I did order a side of fried green tomatoes. They were breaded well, fried in clean oil, and delicious!!! 5/5

Jefferson's is a small, I'd say regional chain that seems to have a tendency to pop up in areas without a ton of dining options; there are locations in places such as Winchester, TN and Scottsboro, AL. Given this pattern, it's a logical addition to Hampton Cove, which has historically had a huge dearth of restaurants despite the population density and relative affluence of the area. We (me, hubs, sis-in-law, and her husband) came for lunch on a hot Saturday afternoon about two weeks ago. There were a few other people eating in at the time but they weren't crazy busy. We were seated quickly by our waitress, Shawna, who was great! They have a fairly large menu with a lot of American bar food favorites. Lots of appetizers (buffalo chicken dip, fried mushrooms and pickles, etc). For main entrees, they have wings, burgers, chicken, and somewhat weirdly...oysters? Not going there personally but it is an option! The atmosphere is basic sports bar, but it's clean and airy. There's a lot of seating and they seem to do a brisk carryout business too! BIL had apparently been craving a root beer float and was surprised to see it offered here as a summertime special. He and SIL both got one and declared it very tasty! We also got an appetizer of pretzel bites for everyone to share. The bites were incredibly hot and fresh, and served with beer cheese and "sassy sauce" that was a little like a sweeter honey mustard. We enjoyed them! Everyone except for me had wings (2 bone-in, 1 boneless order) and fries or tater tots. Resoundingly happy all around! My husband did wish he could split the flavors on his wings, but you have to get a really large order (I wanna say like 12+??) to do that, so he settled on one flavor. I had chicken tenders and fries and also enjoyed them! The tenders were very large and quite meaty. The breading could've used a tiny bit more salt or seasoning, but they went well dipped in the creamy ranch. Shawna was a highlight of our experience; without asking, she brought BIL more root beer for his float when he quickly drained the liquid part of it, allowed us to keep the queso and sassy sauce from the appetizer to dip our entree fries in, and was very prompt and patient getting extra sauces and refills as needed. Shout out to Shawna! Will definitely return to try more appetizers or get some yummy bar food or watch a game. Thanks for a positive first experience!
