This was our first time back to the Pinnacle in a few years…read more On the surface, not much has changed, the same outstanding views, same dining area but now it has an interesting menu. Sway was our server and did a great job, efficiently and with his friendly and engaging personality. The drinks, the Segura Brut Cava and the Lagunitas IPA, came quickly and we then went to the mains. My first choice main was the Spare Rib with mashers and Deb's the Chicken Fried Wagyu but unfortunately they were out of the CFW and instead she went with the Fish and Chips. Well, the mains were both excellent......both the Fish and the Chips were crisp and not greasy and accompanied by 2 sauces and a vinegar! The Spare Rib was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes and accompanying sauce was perfect. We had settled on splitting a dessert, the Carrot Cake, but they were out of it so we settled on the Bourbon Pecan Pie....Wow! It was excellent. All in all, a very pleasant meal with good food and excellent service by Sway and the team. We will be back :) !!! Be aware they do add an 18pct service charge.

This time we decided to try something different and we are so glad we did. The pork chop was so juicy with just the right amount of smokiness. My husband had the redfish pontchartrain and was blown away. Our cocktails were refreshing. Our wine suggested by Julianna was so buttery smooth. Kudos to the chef Roman and sous chef Ian. We may have to make this a biyearly road trip just to stop in. Oh and the view. Thank you so much Julianna for everything. Our evening was wonderful.

We took her…read morebrother and his wife, who have, miraculously not been to Camp Verde compound even after passing it by on their way to Bandera on many of their trips to the area. Anyway, it was a glorious day after 3 days of good soaking rain, which we badly needed in the hill country. The food has always been top notch grade here. The service is very efficient and professional. As for the ambience, the inside is bright and well lighted but to be impressed, you have to go outside. Since it was a glorious day of bright sunshine, coolish temperature and a very friendly breeze blowing, we had a time walking around the area. The surrounding area was lush and very green after the few days of rain! We had a lovely time taking pictures. My brother in law was very surprised about the camel story behind Camp Verde. Camels were used as experimental animals to carry provisions in the 1850's. They were stationed in this area. Unfortunately, the experiment failed because the soldiers hated the camels, who had a reportedly nasty disposition and soldiers ended up with motion sickness because of the animal's unusual walking gait. If you want to visit the area, now is a good time before the summer heat gets here. FYI, if you like Christmas, the gift shop here gets an early start in October! If you like Christmas decorations like my wife, come here and shop. They really fill up the gift shop with goodies!

They even have a working post office. They used to do business with the Ft that trined camels in the 1800's for the Army. Great subject to explore for history buffs. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave me a history lesson on the store and post office. You will not be disappointed by stopping by. Old history vibes.

He was so friendly and easygoing, but we knew he was putting in work! Tables inside and out and our food still came out quickly, and my water was always full! We started off with the gluten free Hong Kong lettuce wraps, and I almost smacked everyone's hands as they grabbed for another one! The antelope was so tender, not dry, and the sauce wonderfully balanced the side of slaw and savory ground antelope. Delicious! Hubby got the Green Goat Sliders, kiddo got the kid's pulled pork sandwich, and I got the gluten free Crispy Chicken Sammie on a GF bun. Everything was delicious! They undoubtedly know how to cook their meat perfectly! Sliders were very good, and my son devoured that pulled pork sandwich in minutes. The kid's sandwich was the same size as mine! The sliders looked great - just cooked so well, and the chimichurri was delicious (per my husband). While I was given the wrong sandwich, I did not care one single bit! A truly honest mistake, but if I even thought of complaining I'd hope someone would kick me right out, because everything about this meal was great! The right sandwich was so good. I love the slaw and Ruben dressing with the slightly crispy GF fried chicken patty. I like that the fried chicken wasn't heavily breaded - it kept it lighter and just enough of a crisp! I got the Greek salad as my side and WOW. I could eat that salad any day. I don't even like olives, but that salad needed them, and all of it was delicious. I loved the hummus on the bottom which was a great texture and added more substance to the salad. I could eat that salad all day every day. I don't know what feta they used, but it was soft and delightfully salty. So good. I can only imagine how good it is on their Brussel Sprouts which are also gluten free! I did snag one of my kiddo's fries which are also gluten free, and I love it when fries and crispy and brown and not overly seasoned, which these were. Tender inside and crispy outside, nice and browned and almost shoestring. Very, very good! With the great service, the lovely outdoor seating, and such delicious food, I would not hesitate driving back here to come eat again! I only wish the restaurant was a smidge bigger so more people at once could enjoy this fantastic establishment!
