We are back at Donut Palace to eat the finest donuts in the Hill Country. We still find this Donut Palace to be the best of all those that we have visited here in the Hill country. And we have been to quite a few in every town where we see one, Castroville, Bandera, etc.. This place is so sloppy. I have also received a moldy taco like the previous review but decided to give them another chance and get a box of assorted donuts. They were all squished and tasted old! I thought I would check this place out as I was craving donuts this morning. There's sausage and cheese kolaches is delicious as is the raspberry filled and lemon filled. I also tried an apple fritter, and that was very good too. The only item on the menu that I was slightly disappointed in was their cinnamon roll.they just sprinkle cinnamon on the top of it. I visit Kerrville; don't live here. Many moons ago I bought donuts over at Snowflake on the Ingram Highway for some car club friends. Think I gave it an equal star rating. On a recent weekend having to get up at the butt crack of dawn I skipped a few blocks (more like miles) and tried another "Palace" of donuts. Anybody get that? I mean I know Dunkin and Krispy franchise? How many Donut Palaces are there in Texas? Are they connected? While you're putting on your tin foil hats I strolled in another breakfast for the club morning. Staff was friendly, threw in some donut holes with my 2.5 dozen order. I did snag some holes and part of a sour cream (or glazed old fashioned). Tried to save the bounty for hungry drivers. Even set up a makeshift table outside my hotel room with the provided ironing board...thanks to my genius. Will return for my future donut needs in Kerrville read more

GOOD, CHEAP, and FAST breakfast foods. I personally believe they have the best donuts in town and you cannot beat their prices anywhere. The pigs in a blanket have always been my personal favorite. I like more bread than meat so it's best for me. Service is good and fast as well. The drive thru runs smoothly but can get crowded around 8. Highly recommend! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Breakfast taco had spoiled potatoes in it. My wife called to tell them but they denied that their food was rancid. Well, I have proof. I went to the drive-through November 11, 2025 and now you have to scan for the menu so as I pulled up to the window and waited patiently for her to open the window, which they took a while and when she opened the window, I asked her a question if they still did the 12 dozen donuts if so, if I could get 12 chocolate donuts and the server asked me what do you mean? I'm like yeah can I get 12 dozen chocolate donuts and she saying that she's rolling her eyes and giving me dirty looks I have been coming here for years and never have been treated like this the server at the window needs to learn how to treat people. read more

This was my first experience with that Czech-inspired Texas delicacy, the kolache. God willing, it will be my last. What a horrible and strange thing it was -- sweet white dough with the texture of wet toilet paper wrapped around a narrow hot dog. I regret that I had to take a whole bite of it. Is this what kolaches are like, or is something horribly wrong in Kerrville? I was also forced to eat crow for my confident proclamation, as we walked in, that "at least donut places always have decent coffee." The Donut Palace is proof that they do not. The donuts, by the way, were nothing special, but mediocre donuts are still tasty. That's why I'm giving it the second star. read more

I'm a donut enthusiast. This place is excellent. The owner is friendly, the staff is friendly (hi Gladys! Love you!), and the donuts and kolaches and breakfast sandwich options are tasty and priced right. Lots of locals sitting around having their morning chat, easy parking, and a drive-through if you're anti-social or addicted to your vehicle's interior instead of stretching your legs. Beware, they are closed on Sundays, which in California is typically the busiest donut day of the week, but this is Texas and things are different out here. And that's a good thing. read more

Tried this place for the first time this morning. Got there at 5:30 am, you would think that would ensure a fresh product. WRONG! Tough, chewy, bland pieces of greasy fried dough. I could go on and on, but suffice to say that I will never go to this place again. Daily Donuts is SO much better. This has been the go-to donut stop for us since moving to Kerrville 8 years ago, but the last two times we were there the apple fritters were so greasy, they were totally inedible.
