Kinda sad. Always a long line, and then they can't get a simple coffee right. Large coffee cream and sugar and I get black. Ugh

One of the better Dunkin's around. It's usually very consistent, which is rare for Dunkin'. It's super clean.

Fortunately I was in a group and we were able to split a half dozen donuts so that we could try a few different flavors. My favorite was the canoli and the Nutella maple. The flavors rotate and I believe they have a few staple flavors that are offered all the time. I did not try out a drink but a few people in my group said their iced drinks were good.

Donerds Donuts is a locally owned small business that's well worth a stop when you're visiting Jim Thorpe. I learned that the owners met in Chile, where they were inspired to start a donut and coffee food truck. They sold their handcrafted donuts from a vintage VW bus on the streets of Santiago before eventually bringing their passion to Pennsylvania. Today, they have two locations, and I had the pleasure of visiting the Jim Thorpe shop. The storefront is charming, welcoming, and has a few seats where you can relax and enjoy your treats with a fresh cup of coffee. Best of all, everything is made fresh on-site. Their display case is filled with an impressive selection of classic and specialty donuts, along with colorful macarons, French toast cinnamon rolls, flaky croissants, and a full lineup of coffee drinks ranging from lattes to iced coffees. Honestly...wow! Deciding what to order wasn't easy. Since it was already midday, I kept it simple and went with a Boston Cream donut. It was incredibly fresh, light, and filled with rich, creamy custard, then topped with a smooth layer of chocolate. Absolutely delicious! A special shout-out to Sarah, who made the visit even better. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the different donuts and macarons. Everything she described sounded amazing, and she definitely had my mouth watering. I had to show some self-control or I would've walked out with half the display case! She was fantastic. If you're spending the day in Jim Thorpe, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Donerds Donuts. Grab a coffee, treat yourself to one (or a few) fresh donuts, say hello to Sarah, and support a wonderful local business. I know I'll be back the next time I'm in town.

I can tell you how little they have changed in 43 years. Usually when a business has operated for that long, they've achieved well-known notoriety, yet these remain a bit of a secret. I argue they deserve all the accolades that local pride has conjured up for now defunct businesses like Bell Alley Soft Pretzels. I should've contacted Food Network a long time ago. If you swing by Reading Farmers Market be sure to grab the pretzel doughnuts. A one-of-a-kind, large, perfectly puffy, glazed doughnut, u guessed it, twisted like a knotted pretzel. I enjoy these simple yeasted doughnuts in their iced glory and have yet to come across one anywhere else. The decorated varieties at holidays are a solid choice as is the peanut butter frosted or filled. The thing that has passed is the affordability. Once upon a time you could pick to your hearts content, now they seem individually priced at a premium. Still, I'll pay for the quality & tradition that no super market with their synthesized ingredients can deliver.

I tried the glazed donut and the Biscoff donut. The glazed donut was unbelievably soft and fresh-everything you want in a classic donut. It practically melted in my mouth. It somehow managed to be light and airy while still having that perfect chewy bite. If you think a plain glazed donut can't be memorable, this one will change your mind!!!! I will never forget this first bite. The Biscoff cookie donut was just as incredible. It was generously filled with a fluffy, marshmallow-like cream that wasn't overly sweet, so the rich Biscoff flavor really shined. Every bite tasted fresh and indulgent without being heavy. It's also a seasonal flavor so it may not be there every time you go! My friend ordered the lemon donut. It was a little too tart for my personal taste, but she absolutely loved it and finished every bite. They also have an incredible variety of flavors, so there's truly something for everyone. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and they also sell coffee and other drinks, making it an easy stop for breakfast or a sweet treat. The space was pretty big. It was nothing fancy. Just a basic shop but the donuts are good that you won't be focused on anything else. If you're anywhere near Lancaster, do yourself a favor and go. NOW. I'll definitely be back and I'll be thinking about these donuts until then! I also asked and they didn't have any gluten free options.

What I personally love about these doughnuts , it's the "layered " part. The croissant like mix between a doughnut and a flaky croissant. They are also big doughnuts.. the flavors are good and very interesting. I got half a dozen to try as many as I could but still left some of the flavors out. Definitely opting for a full dozen next time! Another thing that makes this place stand out , is there savory doughnuts . I got one of those too because I just had to try them.. lol. I couldn't stop eating them lol they are so good! By far, my favorite doughnut in PA. They also offer Gluten free & vegan doughnut options. Which is a huge plus, since my daughter is gluten free. She said "these are the best doughnuts I've ever had" ! The place is really nice , modern like warm Bakery / coffee shop feel. The service was great too. I waited a bit for the gluten free and savory doughnuts, but the employees were very good about letting me know that they would be coming out shortly, which was nice. Will be driving 40 minutes to get my doughnut fix any day!! Definitely worth it.

With a comfortable one mile walk from Wind Creek Casino, I treaded on the greenway taking a much needed scenic route away from the ting-ting-ting slot action of the casino. Donerds was clean, modern and cartoonish in style! It was enjoyable and artsy! A comfortable nook with a mannequin that I had mistaken for a customer until I came into the store. So many choices ! They have a cannoli donut! Wow! I really wanted the crème brûlée donut but settled for the glazed one. With first bite, there was sugar but not overwhelming sweetness! I was glad for that! The donut is yeast raised and soft, fresh, and fluffy. Prices are affordable. The glazed set me back $2.25. There are also French macarons and fancier donuts too. I felt I wanted to try one of the basics to get a feel. I didn't spy any jelly donuts though, but an interesting cherry pistachio fancy one! The one employee was very nice! I thought for sure the donut would have a wax paper to grab it but nope just bare bones donut in a bag! Still, I was very satisfied! It was worth the trek!

I found Donerd's Donuts while scrolling aimlessly and immediately added it to my "Adventures To Be…read moreHad" list. While in the area, I decided to stop in and see what all the hype was about. Fun fact: I had tried the Jim Thorpe location the day before and nearly cried into my coffee--only 4 lonely donuts left in the entire shop. Thankfully, the Bethlehem location came through in a big way! Donerd's is a classic donut-and-coffee shop--nothing else. Limited inside seating, quick service, and designed to get you your sugary fix and on your way. If you want to sit for a minute, there are public benches nearby, perfect for devouring your treats in the sunshine. They rotate their menu weekly, with "first/third/fifth week" flavors and "second/fourth week" flavors, plus a donut of the week. Luckily, my targets--the bacon maple and Nutella maple pecan--are weekly favorites. Walking in and seeing a case full of donuts waiting for me was pure joy. The bacon maple donut: fluffy, perfectly soft donut, smooth maple frosting, and a generous sprinkle of crumbled bacon perched on top. A classic done right. The Nutella maple pecan donut: oh my goodness. This thing was an ALL-STAR. Heavy, decadent, and packed full of Nutella filling in every single bite--no gaping, empty donut holes here. Topped with maple frosting and chopped pecans, each bite was heavenly. I may or may not have eaten the whole thing in one sitting while consoling myself with the box's encouragement: "You deserve a donut." Total damage: $8. Worth. Every. Penny. Slightly more than a big chain (you know the one that starts with Dun and ends with kin), but the freshness and quality make it 100% worth it. No on-site parking, but plenty of free street parking on Sundays. Staff were polite and efficient--pointed in service, but that's fine; I didn't come to chat, I came to eat donuts. If you're in Bethlehem and craving donuts that make your taste buds do backflips, Donerd's is your stop. Just get there early if you have your eye on a specific flavor...some of the others were already sold out by 1:30pm on Sunday.
