I had to leave a review as my disappointment with the Lutz Lake Fern/Sunlake DD continues. I don't know why I get surprised or upset when things go poorly at this location... but I still do. We stopped by last week, around 8AM, and had another poor experience. Bagel was burnt. No other way to describe it. What I wonder is why the cook/barista would even serve this. They have to know it's going to be sent back. Drink order was wrong and at this early time of day, they were already out of all munchin flavors. Today, I decided to drive the family to the DD at 54/Collier Pkwy. I cannot tell you how much of a different experience this was. Super friendly staff, great selection of donuts and everything came out timely and correct. Yes, it took an extra 10 minutes but was WELL worth it. Worse Dunkin in the area, if looking for dunking just drive the extra 6 min too the 54 location by Collier. Food station never set up which limits you to coffee or stale donuts. Coffee is always either terrible or wrong, and never gotten exactly what I order. 4th time in a row I've ordered the maple bacon croissant and gotten a basic BEC croissant... employees always seem to be having too good a time to properly manage there jobs. read more

I proceed to order and the girl working says "we can't do any hot food items right now because we are short staffed" IM THE ONLY ONE HERE! You can't walk your lazy A over to heat up food?! Excellent service in the morning! Even when super crowded, they move fast- I am amazed and impressed at their speed and accuracy with filling orders! In the afternoon however totally different story. It's not even 1/2 as crowded and they move 10 times slower. The morning and afternoon staff is different i've noticed. I was once there at 5 PM and I noticed the person in front of me was waiting around for their food. When I ordered my food I was waiting approximately 20 minutes. The person in front of me had to approach the counter and ask for their food, then the cashier asked her "what did you order again?" After she finally got her food I approached the counter as well and got the same question. When I got my order it was totally wrong. I had to go back to the counter and ask for a replacement. The cashier at the counter however was very friendly and offered me a replacement and a free doughnut. If the evening crew worked mornings, would never have that much time to wait around for food on the way to work. Anyway, 4 stars because the morning crew is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I have been to this location a few times to get coffee and have had to pull out of the line and leave because the line was taking too long. Today, while sitting in the drive thru and not moving I pulled out of the line again. There was only one car in front of us and no cars in front of it since two other cars pulled out of the line as well. So I was in line with no cars in front of me or behind me. I drove up to order and the employee was rushing me through my order. Didn't ask me about cream or sugar for my coffees. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with no cheese. Pulled up to the window and got my order. My vanilla iced coffee was over bearing and my other vanilla hot coffee has no flavor at all. My sandwich also had cheese on it and a tiny piece of bacon that you couldn't even see. So I brought it inside and explained to the manger that my sandwich had cheese and barely any meat and she acted like it was such a burden to make me a new one. She also said "I already put 5 pumps of vanilla in your coffee what do you want another 5 more" in the most sarcastic attitude when I told her about my flavorless hot coffee. I asked about the availability of my favorite donuts, peanut and coconut, and was told they do not have them due to 1% of people with this allergy. Do they remove all cats because I am allergic? This place....if I could give it zero stars I would. Rarely have I been in a Dunkin' store that is this filthy. The counters are dirty, the tables and chairs are dirty. The floors are filthy. Don't look behind at the kitchen area because you'll lose your appetite. They don't have sugar packets readily available because they're afraid customers will take more than necessary. What?!? They consistently get orders wrong. Two times I ordered hot lattes and they were lukewarm. YUCK!! I had already driven away to work so I had no time to go back and complain or ask for another latte. But why should I even have to?? So I've stopped going for all of the above reasons. Honestly the coffee at the WaWa's down Dale Mabry is as good or better and it's HOT and the store isn't filthy. I placed an order for pick-up, specifically selecting walk-in. I went to the doors and they were all locked. I stood there for a moment and a lady very rudely swung her arms in a circle and rolled her eyes. At that point, the line was wrapped around the building, flowing into the turning lane. Since I specifically ordered walk-in, so I would not be late I had to leave without speaking to anyone. I attempted calling four times over the next hour and a half (to get a refund for the food I paide for and could not get), there was no response. From the moment we saw them breaking ground on this Dunkin' Donuts, our whole family was excited. This location was gong to be so close to us we could even ride our bikes there with the kids. This morning marked out 10th visit to this store. I write this with frustration and sadness that we have had poor service or terrible food in every instance. My first note would be the service is slighter better (or at least faster) in the drive thru. I will say, check your order before you pull away. Two of the four times I received sweet tea vs. the unsweetened tea that was ordered. Worse, several times the kids received the wrong donuts that were ordered (how do you mess that up?). The in-store experience is far worse. Once your order is placed you go to the end of the counter and wait.. but no one is really manning that counter. When your order comes up they hand it to you... but if you need something else or if the order is incorrect there is no one to help. There are no less than 5 people behind the counter but no on wants to make eye contact with the customers. I don't blame them as they all seem to be running around to trying to stay ahead. Fact is, we are going to continue to visit this location from time to time... it's location is just too convenient to our house. My hope is that the franchise owner make some needed changes. I understand that finding qualified service personnel is always a challenge. Perhaps a review of the new hire training is needed. Not one employee there engages the customers. I can't tell you how many times I am standing there at the counter waiting for food/drinks with other customers and all of us are in disbelief. If I could give this location zero stars I would. Multiple times I have given them a chance and every time the iced coffee is terrible. It tastes burnt and old, every time! I'm pretty disappointed in this Dunkin honestly. I was excited for it's opening and I've given it several chances and I never leave satisfied. They can't make iced coffees for shit and they are ALWAYS understaffed. I only continue to give it more chances because it's still so new and I understand they are still working out kinks etc. I went today to get a quick coffee just because it's so much closer than my usual Dunkin and I waited in line for 10 minutes! I got to the speaker and it was silence for 5 minutes until I finally said "hello?!" The girl responded immediately and said "I'm sorry were understaffed be with you soon." Sorry but I work in retail also and if you're understaffed please AT LEAST acknowledge your customer and tell them so they don't sit there and steep. I was so frustrated I left with no coffee. On all other occasions I've come here my coffee is never right, the food is usually stale and they never have the donuts you want. May I also add somehow their credit card machine for the drive though also never works?! They constantly take forever no matter what day or time it is. Don't come to this Dunkin if you're looking for good drinks, food or service because you will not be satisfied.
