The service was okay, you also order through a window outside. I think they might've been understaffed but the lady at the front was efficient and had our dessert out quick. The ice cream tasted like freezer burn, the cone was stale. I did see another review that said the same thing about the freezer burn and that was years ago, but I guess it's still a problem. My friend got a cookie sundae which was supposed to have a warm cookie and hot fudge but everything was either cold or stale. It was a split second decision because it was a hot day and the ice cream shop I was thinking of was over 30 minutes from where we were at, but oh- what a happy accidental find! The ice cream here was SO good, I was pretty surprised. They have a lot of great unique combinations and we liked everything we tried. The service was alright but not very trained on information. When asked about flavors or the company in general, the girl didn't really have much information. The outdoor seating really needs some revamping. Came here wanting ice cream after dinner and this was the closest hand scooped place nearby. The two workers who worked tonight were very nice and offered us a lot of samples. After choosing, they scooped our flavors of cake batter and mint chocolate chip. It was $5 each for a single scoop. The ice cream was very very soft so it didn't have that hard ice cream scoop we wanted in scooped ice cream. It reminded me of gelato consistency. Go up to the window and you will see tons of different ice cream options, sundaes, smoothies, banana splits. You can ask them for tastes of the flavors as well. There are free ice cream options for the little kiddos and the spoiled fur babies in your life. They have outside seating, tables, benches, shaded, non shaded. Flavors are really good. I really liked the nutty coconut and mint fudge crunch. Lots of flavors are different than what you would see at other ice crram shops. Once you try it, you will want to come back over and over. Some of my Yelpiest friends have their regular visit this place a lot. The ice cream store give out the dog treat and the outside sitting is suitable for the dog. Some Bruster's Real Ice Cream has inside sitting, but this one is all outside sitting only. It is great during May and November when the weather is mild. Florida has too hot sun that beat up the pavement which preserve the heat will not play well for the outside sitting. The ice cream melts faster if you are not hurry. As a result I got my ice cream and sit in the car to enjoy it longer. Other reason is fighting with mosquito while you eating the ice cream outdoor. Other than that, I like the Bruster's Ice Cream. I was disappointed in my visit to this location. With the cost of EVERYTHING going up I'm paying more attention to every penny spent. We decided to take my family of 5 out for a treat after attending a memorial service. We ordered several items but the one that left much to be desired was the brownie Sundae. At over $8 for 2 scoops of ice cream, a brownie, hot fudge and whip cream you would think that your Sundae would be medium - large in size. In my previous visits it's been enough to share with 2 people. Unfortunately on this trip it was not. The brownie was barely recognizable underneath the fudge & ice cream. When I finally found a small piece of brownie I was in shock! I went to the order counter and asked the owner what happened to the size of the brownies and she said it was correct. I've ordered this sundae before so I know that wasn't the case. My final straw was when I ordered a coke and when I opened the bottle to take a swig the soda was flat. I procrastinated in getting my twin 6 year olds their cake. It's a long story but it has to do with a mix of 60-80 hour work weeks. Anyhow, I looked up "ice cream cake" on yelp.com and got the usual suspects. But I wanted to try something different and saw Brusters pop up and with a great rating. So that Saturday morning just after they opened, I called in. To do a lot of custom work, they ask that you give them 48 hours. I had given them 6, so I knew I was up a creek without a paddle and would have to take whatever was available. I had checked out the website and saw a few cake designs. A gentleman answered the phone and I explained to him what I was looking for. He didn't once complain that I was so last minute and we talked for a quick minute about what he did have available on hand. They had the Oreo ice cream cake, 1, that was ready to go. I asked if it was possible to write "Happy Birthday to Scarlett and Juliette". He said he would examine the surface area to confirm, but asked just in case if it wasn't big enough, would I be ok with just a "Happy Birthday" or with their initials. We settled on the backup of just happy birthday. Fast forward to our arrival (I had the girls with me). I got to the location with ease but not without a little confusion on my part. The building is shaped oddly but I got there without incident. I identified who I was and they quickly added the birthday greeting on the cake. They fit the whole thing. And then the price... it was a lot cheaper then I was expecting! Let's fast forward again to dinner with the family. Everyone was impressed with the cake, both in its design but also its taste. We had a backup smaller cake to ensure everyone would get a piece, but the cake made its rounds without issue and everyone loved it. Great tasting ice cream. I recommend Brusters to any and all. Some notes: 1. this place is located on the street side, but all the way at the back, it appears tucked away. They have tables and benches for you to eat outside, but no inside dining or restroom. Plenty of flavors to choose from, as well as sundaes and other confections. Service is always wonderful, and they are very efficient and friendly. One thing I love about this location is that it is always supporting the local schools. They do family/school nights as fundraisers for the local elementary schools, where you can find the principals serving the ice cream and taking orders, with a portion of profits going to the school.
