Simply awful. Never go there again and I won't recommend it to anyone! Management has to improve the service by hiring the right people.

I had heard good things about T Distefano's bakery before and happened to be in Mebane for the day…read more I'm so glad I was because everything we tried was delicious. The shop has the display cases right when you walk in the door and there is a little cafe area off to the right which seemed cute. We were greeted when we walked in and the girl who helped us gave us plenty of time while we decided what to order. I asked what her favorite thing was that they had and she told me the danishes or the cheesecakes. I ended up ordering several things to try: a glazed donut, glazed raspberry filled donut, powdered raspberry filled donut, cheese danish, chocolate chip cookie, and cinnamon roll. The donuts and cinnamon roll were given to family who already knew how good the donuts were and we tried the chocolate chip cookie and cheese danish. The chocolate chip cookie was huge, chewy, and had a great flavor. I think my favorite thing I tried was the cheese danish. The dough was buttery and the filling wasn't too sweet. It was a great suggestion from the girl working there. Also, all of this was under $18 which is crazy. Will definitely be coming back.

Amazing donuts!…read more It's definitely a hotspot so get there early so they don't sell out. They also have hot breakfast sandwiches if that's something you're in the mood for this is my first time visiting, but I could tell that they had amazing donuts by the line and the group of people inside I felt that the prices were average, specially since their homemade. I got my favorite pastry- an apple fritter and some cake donuts. They did not disappoint. They were the perfect balance of soft and sweet without being too cakey or too sugary. They have a big assortment. It's not on my regular commute, but it would definitely be worth stopping by if I'm in the area.

This place went from one of my favorites to a one-star "I want to tell everyone how bad it was"…read morebecause of my experience today. I was in today, the owner had placed Hazelnut Coffee Mate into the carafe marked "Half and Half" and argued with me when I told them that there was Hazelnut Coffee Mate in the Half and Half carafe. I was shocked that the owner didn't think for a second that she made a mistake, but instead told me that she just poured it in their and it was absolutely half and half. I told her to taste it - she did not. I was so mad at her utter lack of curiosity and her apparent belief in her own infallibility that I poured another fresh cup of coffee, put the "Half and Half" in it, tasted Hazelnut coffee mate, and had to throw it away again. The owner didn't care to watch but the employees saw it. I am allergic to carageenan because I was bitten by a lone star tick and got Alpha Gal allergy. Over 500,000 Americans, most in the Southeast, have this allergy. Coffee Mate has carageenan. I would love to continue coming to Daily Donuts, but not if I am going to be gas lit by the owner.

Not coming back. In Detail: We went in for lunch and immediately had an uncomfortable interaction with the woman taking orders -- no greeting and a noticeably hostile tone. The menu at the counter didn't match prices; she said several items had an upcharge without explaining which or why. We asked if the lunch that included an egg roll could be substituted (we don't eat pork) and she flatly refused, then offered a drink instead -- even though a drink was already listed as included. When we began choosing, she limited us to only the front row of the fridge and acted annoyed the whole time. After deciding we didn't want the meal, we asked to cancel and requested a refund. Only a minute had passed but she refused, saying she'd already started working on it. Between the rude tone, misleading pricing, and refusal to refund a canceled order, this was a poor experience. I won't be returning.

We were seated promptly but sat for over 10 minutes with no greeting or acknowledgement that we were there. The waitresses brought drinks to and checked on several tables around us and did not even say that she would be by in a few minutes to get us started. On top of that, the water glass at the table had a lipstick stain on it. We decided to leave and when walking to the door, the greeter asked us if everything was ok. We told him that no one ever came to the table and all he said was ok and went back to what he was doing. Very disappointed in this as some of the dishes around us looked good. Oh well.

Thai, Indian, British fish-n-chips, steak... the menu was almost too much. I was craving Thai, and chose the drunken noodles. Was absolutely pleased with the flavors, portions, and service. The space was open, not too loud, and quaint but not intimate. It's a converted theater, so don't expect absolute privacy. Will absolutely return again to sample more of their menu!

Thanks to this Pilot Travel Center for introducing me to Haw River, North Carolina. I never knew…read moreHaw River, a town which is located in Alamance County, existed until stopping to get gas here. It's named after the nearby Haw River which you cross over when riding on I-40/I-85. This Pilot is located just off the aforementioned interstate, exit 150. It's roughly halfway between the Triad and the Triangle. Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers (same company) are more like truck stops and comparable to Love's Travel Stops, as opposed to QuikTrip and Sheetz stores, with convenience stores that offer much more than just refreshments. Oftentimes, fast food and other chain restaurants will be on-site. In the case of this Pilot, there's a Dairy Queen and Wendy's attached to the store. Across the street, there's a Flying J with a Denny's connected to it. I just stopped to fill up on gas on my way to Chapel Hill from High Point. The gas station at this Pilot has eight pumps. I used pump #4 and it was in good condition, from the screens to the handle to the buttons. The paper towel dispenser was stocked and my paper receipt printed out clearly. The price of the gas (premium) was not as good as the prices I paid immediately preceding this fill-up at places like the Costco in Durham, QTs in Georgia and South Carolina, and a Kroger in Georgia. Compared to those places, the price for premium gas here was anywhere from $0.13 to $0.39 higher per gallon. At the same time, I didn't feel that the price was unreasonable, just more on the pricey side. I'd stop here again if I had to. This is Pilot store #6955.
