TIP: On weekends, try to be the first ones in the door to order otherwise the wait can be extremely long. Look to spend at least an hour here for a sandwich and drink. We ordered two paninis, hash browns and drinks. The paninis and drinks arrived at our table after 15 minutes but without hash browns. The server said the hash browns are coming. Another 10 minutes passes and still no has browns. My wife goes in to check and they said they're coming. After another five minutes (30 minutes have gone by since we ordered), my wife goes in and asks again. The lady in the kitchen places the hash browns wrapped in a paper towel into the microwave and says they'll bring them out to us. They bring us our hash browns. On our next visit, we tried placing our orders over the phone to avoid the extremely long wait. We're immediately placed on hold and after 10 minutes get disconnected. We called back and before we can utter a sound, they immediately place us on hold again. Three times and the same happened. We've essentially given up on this place.

I…read moream generally very supportive of the service sector but after 2 visits in past month, it is time to call them out. Service is dreadfully slow. I was at breakfast with 3 other people. I asked for scrambled eggs with a side of whole wheat toast! I said no salad please. I got the eggs, no salad with 2 slabs of dry bread that did not resemble toast. I am pretty sure toast is not a delicacy! It involves a small amount of work, whole wheat bread, a toaster and then delivery on a plate. It seems as if getting Water is extra service so I was happy to get that served just to me. I gave up on the toast as I consumed my eggs and rolled the dice! I asked for an almost croissant, something they almost always have. My party was not finished with breakfast and I just wanted the croissant with my coffee. We all sat a bit longer while I thought for sure my croissant would come and then the waitress came by over 10 minutes after I ordered it to tell me they had no almost croissants (it was only 9:30 am....i guess a run on almost croissants in town) but I could have a chocolate one! I said no thanks. This place has a large footprint. There is room to do so much better here. I guess Rosie's was closed on Monday. This is a sleepy place with subpar service and if this pace of service continues, Le Pan will disappear and not be missed

What ties them all together is quality. Every dish on the menu at Rosie is great with seasonal specials that everyone should try when offered. My two favorites are the Fillet Mignon and Beef Brisket Tacos both of which I've ordered and eaten more times than I care to admit. For non-meat eaters, Rosie also has delicious options on the menu for vegetarians and vegans; and you don't have to be either to recognize and enjoy delicious food without meat like the desserts; speaking of which Rosie is known for its gigantic muffins. When dining-in, I highly recommend saving room for a muffin or if you're too full at the end of your meal, order one or a few to-go. The banana walnut muffin is insanely good! Regarding ambiance, the restaurant is small, casual and quaint -- a place you'd expect to see in a small New England town that's also rated the best place to live in Connecticut. During the Spring, Summer and Fall months, you can dine outdoors with your fur babies. New Canaan is a dog-friendly town and the people and service at Rosie are great too. There's street parking in front and a public lot just around the corner from the restaurant.

I spent 50$ there and everything tasted a few days old. The smell of the quiche reheated was inedible, smelled gamey. the cake tasted old. theres not labels above and below all of the food and pastry options so I dont know what anything is. there was no coffee drinks menu but teas were randomly written on a piece of paper. they should redo menu, make it clearer, offer less options that are all fresher. salads are great, sandwiches are great, flatbreads are great. Fill in the holes of what nc really needs, they shouldn't sell muffins with Rosies next door, you cant even compete, stick to what youre good at or where theres a hole in the market, for example NC has no donut shop, serve those to stand out.

Went there on a beautiful day, a perfect day for ice cream. Going in here is a huge hike for us being that we live 40 miles away. It's always a highlight to go, and we always order large cups when we go. Keep in mind this place is not a bargain, you generally get what you pay for and this place has always been worth it except for this trip. And with all my excitement, I neglected to see how much gelato was left for one of the flavors I ordered, and it was the bottom of the barrel-instead of the young gentleman talking me out of the flavor, he gingerly scraped up with all his might whatever was left in the bottom, then proceeded to ask me if I wanted a flavor that was similar to it... Shame on me I said no, and he proceeded to give me the other flavor I had asked for which is a chocolate brownie. As he scooped, I said you know what give me some of the cappuccino please-he huffed and puffed and arrogantly told me he could no longer do it... Why? You've only done a couple scoops of chocolate what's the big deal. Asking him a question it was like I was asking him a life ending favor. He then huffed as he took my husband's order. As we both ate our ice creams we were very mystified that it was lacking the flavors that it once had. True, we both had tried new flavors that we never had before, but it didn't have the same texture and it was overly sweet. Secondly, my husband got their waffle cone. Now let's talk about how the boy neglectfully scooped that waffle cone... He didn't put any ice cream in the cone only slapped a ball on top - that was it. The ice creams came out to $16 and honestly the waffle cone was flavorless! My husband wound up throwing it away as it probably was one of the worst waffle clones he's ever had. Maybe we need a break but we definitely need a break from that young gentleman who took our order... He needs a little polish refresher course on how to be a little more cordial and Little accommodating. Thank God for the tip cup! As for the parking, it's hell, absolutely satanic but that is not reflective of the rating. You are at the mercy of street parking and not easy to find.
