I stop by the Starbucks in Northvale regularly, and I wanted to recognize two employees who consistently make the experience exceptional, Jesse and JaZ They're usually working the drive-thru in the mornings, and they always greet customers with a genuine smile and a positive attitude. They clearly take pride in their work, make sure orders are accurate, and go out of their way to get to know their regular customers. It's rare to find customer service that's this consistently friendly and personal. Even on busy mornings, they make the experience feel welcoming and efficient. They truly make my mornings better, and they're a big reason I keep coming back to this location. Well, gosh. I have avoided writing this review, much like I've avoided returning to this Starbucks at all costs. First, let me start by saying I used to work near here, visited once and became determined not to return. I ordered a very basic iced coffee and received a terrible mishmash of swill, which should have been enough not to return ever again. The second time was due to an early get together before work with my coworker, except this time, I ordered something off of the secret menu with all of the instructions prepared. The cashier rolled her eyes at me like I ruined her entire morning, so that was lovely. The final straw was when my friend wanted to stop in for a coffee and we waited nearly ten minutes for our drinks. That would totally be acceptable if it were busy, however, we were the only ones in the store and the drive-thru had maybe four cars in it. There were plenty of baristas hanging out behind the bar, singing, dancing, and twirling rags like a pizza, yet we couldn't get our drinks in a timely fashion. Always a 15 minute wait or more on the Drive-Thru, my personal best record is 28 min in 2016 to purchase 1 hot coffee. You would think they would've gotten more efficient considering there were only doing Drive-Thru service thanks to COVID regulations. The inside recently got a full renovation and I was hoping they would've done something to improve the service of the Drive-Thru, no such luck. This Drive-Thru causes so much hectic traffic in the entrance to the parking lot and disrupts Livingston traffic so much its just become acceptable. This location needs its parking lot and Drive-Thru redesigned. Pro-Tip: Do not park in the first 3 spaces that face the building because you will get blocked in by the Drive-Thru line that is constantly wrapped around the building. read more

I'm going to be blunt. This Starbucks location disappoints me more than my idiot boyfriend. I feel like neither one listens to me, but at least my boyfriend can occasionally do simple addition. It's supposed to be a weekend treat, my moronic partner gets in his hoopty and drives down the block to bring back a delicious treat that's supposed to make me forget about his many failings. I am so happy! First of all, I found this new Starbucks at this new location and I am loving it! How ironic, I find it on National Coffee Day! It is a little further from my job but so worth it for me! The employees are all so sweet, and the coffee is BOMB! They always make it just right. I actually prefer this Starbucks over any of the others. Everyone is so sweet, happy, working and being proactive. It's just a good feel, and a great place to get any type of work on a computer done. Hands down best Starbucks drive through in Rockland. Always busy but the line moves at a good pace, the staff is on their top game working efficiently and providing excellent customer service. I mean come on! We all go there to get our Starbucks fix and we can't rush perfection. Special shout out to Raine (I hope I did not butcher her name) she has been working the window the last couple of times I've been there, and she is a total delight always smiling and treating guests like they are family. Normal Starbucks, nothing crazy. I have a few less stars based on wait time and that the staff at the driver hey seemed to disappear (literally, not sure where they went when I was waiting in line, but there was no one at the window). I did the mobile order and everything was correct and warm/cold when I got it. Location sneaks up on you in you're not aware of where it is (directions said turn right and I almost passed as it seems to pop out of nowhere). But it was perfect to grab something on the way to my destination. read more

I would say this location is average at best. Stopping here for convenience of location, at least once a week, they mostly get my simple orders right. The employees are mostly pleasant, although they don't seem to be too enthusiastic about being baristas. Complex drinks are often mixed together and not layered or pretty as Starbucks dictates. Especially fraps. I often wait for my order at the pickup window listening to the high school style gossip, not exactly professional. The access to this location is severely chaotic and often too small and crowded to maneuver. It's a very awkward location. I always liked drive-thru Starbucks. I like drive-thru anything: weddings, gun shops, funeral homes. But this one is a little different, I think, because baristas not only speak English well, but are polite and pleasant to boot. Is it still a barista if they operate a drive-thru window? They understand complex orders, and can suggest a pastry if you stumble. That should happen spontaneously in all aspects of life, by the way. This Starbuck's is cool because it has a drive-thru. Nothing is more convenient than getting your caffeine on the go! Have to say, tough, that I am partial to the Closter location. The renovation there is great, and inside of Northvale there's not so much to hang out (although there is a cool corner). It's good, on par with Starbuck's level of excellence, but if I'm going to sit down I'll go to Closter, if I'm in a hurry the drive-thru is awesome. read more

Had a horrific experience with Mr. Ryan in the drive thru on Easter Day. First of all, does Starbucks not inform you that you should at least "act" like you want to work even when you don't want to. 95% of us hate our jobs. I know it's not Halloween, but try putting on a smile sometime. It was your fault that you messed up my order to begin with. I ordered an iced beverage, so when you knew that you messed up, you thought it was okay to grab a cup full of ice and just throw the hot beverage onto the ice. I'm pretty sure that's not what Starbucks instructs you too do. And your disrespectful, unprofessional attitude towards your customers should be one that does not go unnoticed. read more

I have been to the Starbucks on Newbridge occasions, but today is the first time I felt compelled to write a review. It is pretty much what you expect from a Starbucks. Speedy service and the place was clean. I don't get these reviews!! I LOVE this location. I've been coming here for about three years now as part of my routine. I love the location, the way they make my custom frapp, the friendly employees that go out of their way to greet and help you...everything! Have they made a couple of small mistakes, yes. But they are human like we all are and bend over backwards to fix the mistake and make sure you are satisfied as well! Besides, it's COFFEE...not brain surgery. They work lightening fast trying to make sure everyone's order is right and done quickly. It's impossible to not have a mistake here and there! Nice booths and comfy chairs. Relaxed vibe and relatively prompt service. They all bust their butts here. Every employee was bustling and multi-tasking. The bathrooms were very clean as well. I definitely recommend this location and will continue to frequent it. Only con is the drive thru line can get pretty lengthy in the mornings due to all the nearby businesses. This Starbucks location is just not good. The coffee at this place just never tasted "great" to me. Also, there is always a huge line at the drive through. Not worth waiting for in my opinion. It seems to be run by very young folk who like to talk about their personal problems. I've overheard several interesting conversations with customers around them to hear all the juicy details. This place just isn't professional. What compelled me to write this review was something that was worse than just typical unprofessional young person behavior. While I was waiting in line inside the store, I noticed the person in front of me ordered a pastry. When the girl behind the counter was reaching to pull it out of the case, she dropped the item on the floor. The guy in front of me wasn't facing the case, and didn't get to see what I observed - the girl picking up the pastry that dropped on the floor.... and serving it to the guy. DISGUSTING. read more

I dislike that they preferentially treat the drive through over the inside customers during rush hour, but the opposite is true when you come during non-rush hour so I guess educate yourself? The inside booths are nice with lots of bench and table space and plugs if you're working, the outside tables are pretty useless for anything other than a quick hangout since the drive through dust is blown at you. read more

I usually come here 2-3 times a week for my morning mocha, the people who work here are always cheery, sweet and helpful. Got there this morning right before 6. The hours are from 6am-11pm. 6:15 still no answer at the intercom, doors still locked. By the time I left so did 7 other cars....If you are closed or opening late, put up notice. I;m not impatient but sitting in my car for 20 minutes waiting for someone to take my overpriced order and than just leaving annoyed is not how I like to start my morning. read more

This location has always been consistently great. However, recently, they've been adding whipped cream to all of my drive thru latte orders. I'm an adult, ordering a coffee drink at 8:30am, not a frappuccino ...the default assumption should be no whipped cream. I've never run into this issue at other locations so I'm not in the habit of saying "no whipped cream" when ordering--baristas usually ask me outright if I want it or they assume I don't. The first two times it happened I didn't say anything because I typically order at a busy time in the morning and didn't want to hold up the line. Today, I pointed out that I didn't order whipped cream and the barista just offered to scrape it off the top for me (which I can do myself). I know there are bigger issues in the world right now, this isn't a big deal, but I'm a loyal customer to the branch; Starbucks drinks are not cheap and, if I'm treating myself to a seasonal drink, I'd appreciate if it were made correctly. Again, this location usually has stellar baristas who do an impressive job with the morning rush so I'd say this is the exception. I am happy to report that this Starbucks has gotten better based on my recent experiences going here, as my mom (and myself sometimes) likes to drink Starbucks coffee. We tend to go here often as this store is conveniently located near the nursing home where my grandma resides. Figuring that the drive-thru slip up in my previous review was a fluke, we decided to give this Starbucks many other shots sometime ago and we found that the drive-thru became far more efficient and accurate! While we did not use the drive-thru on our recent visit yesterday, I am happy to report that this is a very well-run Starbucks! We came here yesterday, as we were in the area, but due to an unusually long drive-thru line (not the employee's fault, as he was working hard), we went inside. When we got in, we found that the young lady who helped us was friendly, polite, and efficient. In addition, we found the store, including its restrooms, to be clean, modern, and spacious. My mother ordered a Venti Half-Caf Dark Roast, which she found to be well balanced, robust, and made to perfection! Overall, we will definitely return to this Starbucks when we are in the area! read more
