Joy also sells pastries and such from small local bakeries. There isn't much seating yet inside but Joy has specific plans to grow the space over the course of this year. But the seating that is available is cut and comfortable. Unless she's at a festival, this is the only place to get Joy's beans. They don't sell them in any other shops and aren't likely to soon so if you're in the Brookies on the weekend (or check hours to see if she's extended to any days M-Th in the future) swing by and grab yourself a cup or some beans to go. And if you're friends with me, yes, I will deliver beans for you while I'm out visiting my mom.

The food and service are always great. The prices are about average for a locally owned shop. The pastries and treats are always cooked perfectly and just the right amount of sweet. They also typically have at least one gluten free option. Their rotating coffee flavor menu is always fun and pairs well with different seasons/holidays. They do have a restroom for customers, multiple self-serve coffee carafes, and a loyalty program for their coffee beans. I had a BLT on wheat bread and a bowl of her hardy corn chowder on the cool, rainy, damp, early August day that I was there. The bacon was thick sliced, cooked just right. The wheat bread was surprisingly not toasted, but didn't detract from my enjoyment of the sandwich. Four stars only because of the limited menu, but it's really great to have this place for a light lunch on my "Quabbin Loop", 72 mile ride around the reservoir. Perhaps the menu will expand a bit as Mimi's Café becomes better known through Yelp & word of mouth. There were several locals who clearly have discovered this little hidden gem already.
