DUNN-EDWARDS PAINTS in Encino is easy to find and easy to get into. They have their own free parking lot with plenty of available spaces. The people are friendly and helpful, but did not hover. I was able to take my time choosing the right shade of "white". Boring, I know, but I was surprised by how many there are. I was able to narrow down my choices and take home the card samplers to show my contractor, who was then able to get small samples for testing. Very convenient. The Good: Usually good parking and convenient to Sherman Oaks + Encino Residenz. Good selection of Paint, Brushes ect. The Bad: Kind of unfriendly Manager, specially if it comes to dropping of old paint or asking to match a paint chip. If you don't come in as a contractor and need more guidance you might receive some attitude from behind the counter. Just brace yourself. read more

I can't recommend this store. A fter reviewing my purchase receipt, I was charged .60 for the paint care fee. I was not told about this charge before it was added to my bill. Paint care is a fee paid to recycle old paint. Both of the cans I brought in were dried up and could have been put in my black container, so I resent paying anything for this store to recycle empty cans. While .60 isn't a lot of money its the fact the store failed to advise me of the fee before adding it to my bill. This store is on Ventura Blvd and has minimum parking so I had to wait in the parking lot for another customer to leave so I could park my car. If you like Dunn Edwards paint I recommend another store. read more

Who Manages this place?? Or rather where is the management? . I feel so sorry for the one salesperson who is busy like crazy on a Saturday with no help. She is terrific and helpful but there is only so much one can do when you aren't given support. The line of customers are kept waiting too long. We came in to get samples and it took much to long to complete our sake tho no fault of hers. She simply is too busy. Very efficient and customer-service oriented, but much too much for a single person. Shame on her boss. Hire more people. It's irritating for your customers. And bad business. You know you are going to be busy on a Saturday. And it took me until now to mention that the store has a good selection of paint colors and tools. Hence the four instead of two star review. If you had more ppl working would have been five stars. read more

Have experienced numerous color matching issues and I''ve found the service to be better (knowledge, experience, speed) at other locations as well. Dunn Edwards has a full-time interior design specialist that helped me with the daunting task of picking out paint for the entire interior of my home. Long story to the point - Moved from an apartment short of 700 sq.ft to one short of 1300 sq.ft The Color specialist informed us on prices, styles, the works on Thursday. We found a color which suited us elsewhere, but brought the swatch back to Dunn, due to the fact of the quality of paint not being up to Dunn's standards. The price point of the Everest line is BEYOND my liking. Walls were painted the following day. No smell. Lays on even. Of course, do your prep sanding and sponge. That helps this paint prevail to its higher potential. Nothing short of great staff. Great help. Color matching. Kinda rough going to Home Depot getting somebody who isn't involved. Convenient location but beware they ONLY carry black & white colors for oil-based paint. Even tho they're a paint store. The girl was nice enough to call in the order to the Sepulveda store as a "courtesy" order so it would be waiting for me when I got there but it wasn't...don't think they had even started it...and they were realllllllllllllllllly slow. I have to join the chorus of voices complaining about the rude manager. I was quoted one price on the phone and when I came it to buy the paint he charged me a different price, 30 percent higher. Said he wouldn't honor the price because I didn't have it in writing - on a phone order. Wouldn't work with me at all, which is strange considering there is a 30 percent off coupon here on yelp. Very rude unprofessional people. I was there on Saturday 29 at this store. 2 people working and the I told the guy (I think he was a store manager) that I need help and he said he will come back to me soon. First costumer left and he start doing something else. I was looking at him and he clearly ignored me. I went to my car, front of the store to grab something. In a minute back inside he was taking to another costumer. When I ask I was here before, he started b***ting about he does not have any enough help here and I saw another employee was sitting in the back do nothing. I was about to order paint for 3 units and I will take my business somewhere else. Never back to this store. read more
