And why isn't the manager teaching these twits how to deal with customers properly. We are spending tens of thousands of dollars per job to be disrespected? It's a real quick way to lose business. I was not thrilled with my overall experience here today. I need to repaint my door and my HOA is very specific on the color selection and where to buy the paint, but offers a discount code. My husband asked me to pick up a quart for our door and get paint chips for the house colors so that we had them to use in the future. I tried go in on Sunday, but they had temporary hours listed and were closed. This was a little inconvenient bc they're listed online as being open, but it was really not a big deal, so I went back today. The setup was confusing. There are two counters opposite and one person was serving two customers at one counter and a gentleman was doing something on the computer at the other, so I wasn't certain where I was to go to receive service bc he looked busy. I went to the sample wall, but there was a couple looking at them and just standing there staring in the way, so I started to walk back to the front and the gentleman on the computer then helped me. The gentleman who helped me was very nice and informed me that they have been out of my specified paint type and color for several months. They can't call to let you know if and when it comes in. Ok... Bummer. I'll still get the paint chips and call back later to check in occasionally. I specifically said that my husband wanted me to pick up paint chips. He replies "Well I have samples of the two colors". Again I asked, "Ok, so you don't have paint chips or a sample of the third color?" and was told again "Well I can get you samples of the two." I'm thinking, ok, great. If I can't get paint chips the samples should be fine bc it'll be the true color and I can get 2 out of 3... You have to pay for the samples though, which I actually didn't need at all. Oh, and btw, the discount can't be applied to the samples... Of course... After I pay for two paint samples, he then said "Did you still need those paint chips?" This is where my experience soured. I specifically asked for paint chips when I entered and now they're giving them to me after implying they don't have them. So you got $10 bucks from me, which I had no need to spend, but I'll take my paint chips across the street to color match from here on out. This really felt like bait and switch. At least he prevented me from wasting my time and money at other locations bc they're out valley wide of what I need. read more

Pretty much only came here because our HOA demanded we do. I'm guessing that the Lighthouse Mgmt. HOA has some kind of contractual agreement and/or business-with-benefits relationship with Dunn-Edwards. We just closed on our home last week and our home inspector suggested we get a coat of paint on an exposed wood beam on the back patio that has seen better days. I wrote our HOA and they gave me a paint sheet that I needed to take to Dunn-Edwards. So the store location is smack dab off Peoria Ave. and the 101. It's essentially right across the street from Home Depot. There's no parking lot in the front of the store so you have to drive around to the back of the store. I walked in and there were two employees at the first counter in the front of the store. There was an employee at a counter in the middle of the store. There was an employee at the counter to the right of the store when you walk in. And I also passed a gentleman named Robbie, whom I believe was a supervisor / manager. I walked around the store and made two full laps. No one looked at me. No one glanced at me. No one asked me if I needed anything. The Robbie-guy actually made eye contact with me and then made a B-line for his corner office where he could close the blinds and pretend I didn't exist. After making my second lap around the store, I finally had to take it upon myself to approach a woman who was stocking shelves. I was so sorry I had to interrupt her work to assist me. I let her know I needed some paint. After all, I was in a paint store, right? She instructed me to go up to the counter at the front of the store. So I pointed to make sure I had to go to the two women at the front of the store whom I passed earlier and was not assisted. She nodded. Once I got to that counter, however, neither of them could help me even though this is where I was instructed to go. They informed me I had to go to the gentleman at the counter opposite of theirs. He ordered my paint and from there, it was in my hands in about 10 minutes. Getting to this point was a nightmare. Customer service doesn't appear to be very high on their list. Granted it was at the end of the day on a Friday, but for a business that's open 7 days per week - I would hardly think that would matter. I only bought this stupid gallon of paint because our HOA demanded it of me... otherwise, I would have gone elsewhere. read more

I visited your store in Peoria today, we needed a special color to meet our COA requirements when touching up a block wall. We had intended to go to Home Depot across the street, but then saw your sign and decided we'd rather try to stay local. We were helped by Liz, who knew what we needed almost before we did! I needed to match the existing paint color in our home and decided to give Dunn-Edwards paints in Peoria a try. I brought in a sample of our existing color for them to match. The sample tested as a flat, no sheen. When I tried the new paint next to the existing paint you could see the existing paint did have some sheen to it. I went back and this time went with the eggshell sheen. The eggshell had more sheen than the existing, so I went back for the velvet sheen. This was an almost perfect match to the existing. I picked up a gallon and painted two walls. This was not an easy color or sheen to match, so I wasn't upset that the two previous attempts were close but no banana. Everyone that helped me was very nice and knowledgeable. That paint itself is great. I will be using this Dunn-Edwards store going forward. read more

I want to thank, Kayla, the Professional Color Advisor for her expert help in choosing an exterior color palette for my home. She was so knowledgeable about color combinations, and using the computer application to make the picture of my house come alive with color options, that I was able to make a decision on colors decisively. I took paint samples home and tried them out immediately on my house. I love them. I just wish I'd asked for Kayla's help sooner! We have been racking our heads for a week trying to pick a color for new garage doors. Knowing that our house needed to be painted, we stopped into Dunn Edwards today. Did you know that they have someone that will sit down with you to help you design a custom paint scheme? Thanks to Kayla who made it happen for us. She was available when we walked-in, but normally you might need to make an appointment. Take it from me, it is worth the time even if you have to make an appointment. We took a thumb drive with a good picture of the front of our house and a paint sample of the garage door color we were thinking of using. Kayla designed an awesome Tuscan color scheme to go with our new garage doors. She makes it look easy, but take it from me it is not so easy. My husband tried to do this using a painting program; however, he got tired after 2 hours trying just to color in a new trim color. Kayla did the whole house in less than an hour. That included the facia, keystones, accent trim around doors and windows, garage doors and the house itself. She gave us a picture of the house with the new colors and color swatches to help us picture our new garage door with new house colors. The colors on our house had no curb appeal, but the new design looks awesome. I also think it will add value to our semi-custom home. In addition, knowing the new paint colors we will be using saves us time when hiring the painting contractor. Thank you Dunn-Edwards for hiring competent and talented staff like Kayla! read more

Went to this store this morning to get two samples color-matched. The rude jerk at the "paint advice" counter looked at the first one and pronounced, "That has to be the size of a quarter", then looked at the other one and said "and THAT'S not gonna happen." So I went across the street to Sherwin Williams and they both happened no problemo. They were also friendly and helpful. So I'll be buying my paint there. read more

Horrible service color was screwed up. Store manager was argumentative from the beginning. Directed me to another dun Edwards to resolve the issue because his store didn't want to take a "hit" on the paint error. "Lead" Hide Martinez Rios was unprofessional and quick to respond as to why another store should fix the error. I asked for a manager above him and he was quick to make it known he is the manager. Horrible service. Manager agreed the color was not correct. Another employee in the store also agreed it's the wrong color. read more

I'm up here at Dunn Edwards trying to make my customers happy. I'm just glad that everyone I've talked to or have been helped by in here is so pleasant. Those tint guys can do wonders when color matching. Good customer service goes along way when you've been out in the sun all day. read more
