Both of the technicians who came out to assist with the issue we had with our heating system were GREAT, but because of a silly mistake made by the first tech (he didn't flip the emergency shut off switch back up before he left) the company is attempting to charge us $150 for the second tech to come out and flip the switch. When I emailed the GM, Karl, to politely request that this fee be waived he responded that he wasn't sure what actually happened between the time the tech left on Saturday night (close to 7pm) to when I called again on Wednesday (around 2:30pm) but that everything was working fine. He also claimed that the time between tech visits was 6 days...that math isn't mathing...it was about 3.5 days! I am a new customer to the company and THIS is the first impression that I am receiving. Karl thinks that I should be grateful that a tech came out on Saturday. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that someone was able to come out and I explained that I was happy to pay the service charge for that visit, but I do not believe that I should be charged for the initial tech's negligence in flipping a switch. I'm a pretty laid back person, but when I'm insulted for not using their techs for an installation and disrespected for voicing a concern and opinion, I will no longer be giving your company any additional business. They have officially lost another customer...within less than a year.

The problem turned out to be a simple pilot light issue, yet their approach made it clear that running up labor charges took priority over taking care of the customer. Communication was poor throughout the process, and when we attempted to call for resolution, the woman who answered the phone hung up on us. As the President of a company that employs a large blue-collar workforce, I understand labor costs--but I also understand honesty, fairness, and professionalism. This company failed on all three fronts. We ultimately called Locher Plumbing, who were professional, communicative, and ethical. They quickly ordered the necessary part, returned for installation, and charged a fraction of what David's Heating and Cooling demanded. Locher proved that doing right by the customer is possible, and they earned our trust and future business. I cannot recommend strongly enough that others avoid David's Heating and Cooling.
