Pool remodel summer 2025. I am still battling not having a functional Spa or jets that work at full strength in pool. It worked great before they got their hands on it. I no longer have functioning jets, it's more like sitting in my pool. They didn't cover holes and a year later am still getting hunks of plaster in my filter and at bottom of spa. I had one of the worst contractor experience with Dunota Orlando. Our old pool was leaking, so we decided that we will fix the leak through a complete remodeling and modernization of the pool. The contract was signed in May 2024, the work was completed in March 2025, when Duonta told us it would be a 8-10 weeks job. We spend two summers without the pool, but worse, our yard looked like a battle zone for months. They removed the pavers, but then it took several months before the new pavers were installed. And even worse, when the pool was completed, it was leaking in the same place that the old pool was leaking!!!! I talked to the owner, Marcos, who hung up the phone on me because he did not want to take responsibility of the leak unless I paid extra. The owner and upper leadership were incredibly disrespectful every time we contacted them. Workers would come to our house worked for an hour or two and then do not show up for 4-5 weeks to continue the work. They also were destructive, they brought heavy equipment and broke pavers and concrete pathways, created deep channels in the grass areas and the owner told me point blank that that was not their problem, they were only remodeling the pool, and I would have to absorb the cost of all the damage they did to my property. Several times they left a hose filling the pool, but they did not tell us or come later to close the water, so the pool overflowed several times, one of them when we were out of town, so the pool was overflowing in our patio for several days. The only mistake they paid for was when they crash one of our cars with their truck. We had the crash in our security camera, so even though they tried to tell us that they did not crash it, the video was pretty clear. The complete disregard for our property was incredible. Throughout this process, the project manager barely showed up to supervise the workers. The quality of their final work is also questionable, you can see in the images how they installed the new skimmers in the newly resurfaced pool that they did. They also installed wrong the pool finish layer (confirmed by the manufacturer, Peeble Tech), it was all splotchy, with yellow stains and badly distributed the different materials (like poorly blended before applying it) and when we told them, they did not take responsibility and told us we were the ones that damaged it. what has triggered me to write this review is that when they "completed" the pool job and we told them that the pool was leaking, they sent a crew at night! The workers (see pictures) where trying to find and fix the leak using their cell phones lights until I gave them a flood light. what kind of company does that? I told the workers to go and come back the next day during day time and they told me that Marcos, the company owner told them to tell me that if I force them to leave he will not fix the pool because I was rejecting service. Also for the leak, I requested to bring an leak inspector, which they did, but when the inspector come to the house, I asked him to discuss his report/findings with me and he told me that Dunota had told him directly not to share any information about the leak with me. After a serious argument on the phone, Dunota let the leak inspector talk with me and that got me even more upset. The leak came from the kind of grout and sealant that they use. They did not use a water proof sealant, they use regular tile grout to seal around the drains, skimmers, and decorative pieces. This is beyond everything. and then, as I said, they send the crew at night without any lights to fix this. I am appalled at the nerve of Marcos and Leo the project manager as they constantly bullied us in accepting their poor job and constantly put the blame on me of my husband that we did something to the pool to cause the problem. They are a clear example of a contractor abusing the system because they know that as customers, there is very little we can do when they don't perform and deliver. read more

Now I never leave a one star review. Even after food poisoning, I didn't leave one star, but this business is a joke. They have three pages to try to conceal their previous reviews. No worries I'll post this review to all of them. They claim and advertise they're accredited by the bbb- they're not. Our leasing company uses them for pools. We asked that they notify us of their arrival, so we can ensure we are dressed appropriately and the dogs are inside, yet and still, we are never notified. They just open the gate and let themselves in. We ignored it and started ensuring the dog is inside and we're dressed by 7:30. On Wednesday, they showed up to resurface the pool. Unannounced and no communication at all. Midway through, we're told the process will take weeks because they have to schedule to come back out. That won't work for us. We are told we need to speak to the manager. We speak and he says he'll have someone out next week. The employees come unannounced the following Tuesday and they leave unannounced too. We walk outside and there is concrete piled up in our yard, yard damage, chicken bones thrown out in the driveway- just an intentional mess. The water hose is in our pool and the water is green! Oh yeah, the employees also used our water to pressure wash their vehicle during the job. The jets don't work in the pool and the lights don't either. We speak to the manager, who was very dismissive and demeaning. He says the employees did their job and the pool needed to be treated. He said the pool wouldn't be ready for use regardless. He says that they'll schedule someone to come back out. I explain that the employees need to be spoken to. I explain that we are the minority (less than 3% in the area) and while intentionally putting chicken bones and skin in my yard was unprofessional, it could viewed as discriminatory and I felt the employees needed to be spoken to. Abruptly, the phone call ends. We call back and the receptionist is unable to connect us to the manager and gives us the address. We visit the site after having to find the correct address. The receptionist doesn't open or answer. An employee comes and tells us to go inside. We explain the doors are locked and we need to see a manager. The employee asks us the problem, so we told him. He said he was aware and the staff was going to clean up when they came back. I remind him of the chicken bones and concrete everywhere with my pets, he says he tell a manager to contact us. A manager suddenly appears. It was the one we spoke with earlier. He said he hung up because we called the company racist. I explained that I said. "It could be viewed as discriminatory." The manager said he knew what he heard, and I said I know be what I said and what accusations I make. In Spanish, he tells the employee to call the police. I responded that I'll wait. The police arrives and literally ask what they're doing at the business. I explain the situation and explained it never became violent or threatening. The police said the person who called only said they were locking themself and employees inside. The manager asks the police to 69/trespass us, which the police refused being that we did nothing wrong. I filed a complaint with bbb and considering the attorney general. If the chicken situation wasn't discriminatory, in the climate of the world, did you really call the police on us for nothing? I can't call the racist or discriminatory, but they have questionable practices and their customer service is nonexistent. Do yourself a favor and do business elsewhere. Unfortunately you get what you pay for. We chose Dunota pools to resurface our pool because they were the cheapest. Communication was ok, but after we were ready to proceed we were slapped with another $900 bill because they didn't account for the skimmer needing to be raised. Then on the day for the work to be done, a total different company came out to do the resurfacing. The guys did such a poor job that we had to call them back for the poor resurfacing and scratches and nicks in the surface. The company finally came back in the dark around 9:30 pm to repair some of the damage. Going forward about 30 days, the pool started losing way more water than it should. We hired another company to fix the leaks and requested reimbursement from Dunota, only to be told that they would not honor it because we should've called them to do the work for free. Sorry, we don't want anymore poor work done from this company, so we are out another $500. Piece of advice, stay away from Dunota and go straight to a gunite company if you want your pool resurfaced. read more

After weeks of trying to communicate to the receptionist, they sent out a "manager". They left me a bill to fix the pump for $1,400. I called and said the pump is fine and I needed the light fixed. Wish I could leave zero stars. This company is a joke. We have had a pool leak for over 2 months now and they still can't seem to get it fixed I would use another company but this is who are leasing company uses. Water bill is over 31,000gal used in on month normally at 4,000. That's a lot of water being lost. Utility company even came out cause they were concerned with water usage. I rent a home from invitation homes for over 6 years. We have a pool on the backyard, since invitation homes switched to this company, our pool hasn't been well cleaned for a while. In March we filled our pool with new water. Right now our pool is green since it has not been cleaned for who knows how long. BAD EXPERIENCE. One pricing was sent, paid and then a new pricing which is much higher. Doesn't answer the phone.

My pool renovation began in January 2023 at a cost of $30,000. I was to receive a 15% discount but I did not. It do not show on my contract The new tile and flagstone retaining wall were excellently completed. Next the pool pavers were installed in one day, the workers were hard-working and polite. Next came the midnight blue pebble tech. After completion, the next day, Leo, my project manager, came to collect my final payment. He started filling the pool with water and gallons of acid. My nightmare started the next morning when I got up and the pool had leaked nearly empty. Nearly 10,000 gallons gone. 77 days of continuous leaks and various leak detection men and companies finally it was fixed. Sadly, my midnight blue pebble tech is now baby blue with large white calcium deposits. It is not my intent to sling mud or give a bad review. To save yourself a lot of trouble and many headaches, it's what you're not told that you need to know. 1. Clean up. It is your responsibility to clean the cement dust and residue from your pool furniture and move it back to your screen room. No one informed me to remove the furniture to garage so it sat in dirt in the yard for three weeks. 2. read more

DO-NOT-A is the appropriate name for this company! It has to be the worst experience I have EVER had with any company EVER! Signed a contract with Dunota to have a fiberglass insert pool installed. Actually, what they did, was sell their license to a guy, who didn't have a license, to install our pool. The pool should have taken 3-4 months to insert and finish. We are now on our third year with this company and are still having issue after issue. First they installed the pool and it was lopsided and while installing, put a huge dent in my brand new vinyl fence, took my 100 foot hose and my rakes and shovels and never fixed or replaced them. Pool had to be craned out again and eventually( probably 6 months later) installed back in the hole. Cause of mismanagement, it then burst a huge hole in the steps area and the whole pool leaked out into our lawn! They eventually fixed the hole ( months went by) and refilled the fiberglass shell. They also had to install a new electrical circuit in our box and run the electric and while they were doing this, our Dishwasher stopped running and the switch kept tripping off and the next day our dishwasher conn in our electrical boxes was melted down and had caught on fire. Strange this would happen when they had worked on our electrical box? Moving on, they finally after 2 years, we're ready to lay the concrete. They sent the "concrete guy" and started laying the concrete while I wasn't there.The kid layed all of the concrete down, thinking he would go back after and smooth it all! It's a VERY LARGE patio area! CONCRETE 101- I would know not to do that and I don't do concrete! Of course you can only imagine the disaster I came home to! I had lumpy concrete all over my back yard! Then they had to jack it all out and left it on my front lawn for a MONTH! I finally had to be the one to pay for having it hauled away because they didn't have the money to do it. Also, when there workers were working on the pool, they ate there lunches and threw all kinds of debris along with their lunches, in a big heap in my yard and letting me know someone would come and pick it all up. I have 4 little dogs and after 3 weeks, no one came to pick up the trash and the food of course was rancid with maggots and my dogs were out trying to eat from the leftover garbage!!! I had to scream at the company to come pick it up!!! They finally sent someone 3 weeks later. When they finally came back and had a new person lay the concrete, it began cracking immediately, because they did such a lousy job. They then decided to try to cover the lousy job by putting a coating on top of the breaking and cracking concrete. Kinda like a "pig with lipstick"! The coating started cracking within a month of installation and we told the company ( supposedly we have a 6 month warranty) and their reply was that concrete cracks and there isn't much they could do. We thought we could live with a few cracks but now 6 months later, the coating is now cracking and peeling very badly and looks terrible! Especially where the water pools on the decking that floods when we have a good rain because they didn't install a proper drain to drain the water. Even though we called about the cracking and peeling in January and the coating was finished being applied in July and they ignored our requests and it's now the middle of February, they are saying it's not under warranty anylonger. We also have had two pool heaters installed since we started this pool as they both burnt out and now the third has gone out and is under warranty. We have called them since the beginning of January and they supposedly scheduled an appointment in mid January that they never showed up for. One of my last conversations with Marco, after they didn't show up to fix it, was that he had spoken to the heater company and that I needed to speak with them to have them fix the heate, as they wanted to talk with the homeowner. After spending hours on the phone waiting for someone to pick up and take the call, I finally got a young kid that said the Ecostealth heater we have cannot be serviced by them because they are further then 50 miles from us and would never come that distance to fix a heater under warranty. I made a 3 way call with Dunota and told Marco that they would not come to fix this issue and what was he going to do about it as it is under warranty! And also told him that if he had spoken to the company, then he would have known this and I wouldn't have to have spent hours on the phone trying to have someone fix the heater issue that they wouldn't fix!!! I was pissed - just another lie upon all the shit they've already put us through! I could go on and on, as I've only touched some of the issues I've had with this company and still have a shitty pool! AND no one to come out and fix it! I have now started consulting a lawyer on the matters and hopefully, one day, will have a workable pool. Again! DO NOT A use this company and stay as far away as you can!!! read more

We rent our home from Invitation homes. Since they have switched to this pool company my pool is never cleaned properly. The guy they had coming was always mean to my dog and I told him there was a risk of him biting him. One day I found my expensive foam floats laying in a pile of dog crap on the cement. I looked at my cameras and saw the guy step over the pile... and throw my raft into the pile of dog doo doo. Now for the last two weeks my gate to my back yard has been left wide open by a different pool guy and my dogs have wandered off. Thank God we have gotten lucky both times and have found them. WARNING: they put my family in DANGER. This is so disappointing and I hate having to do this, but people must know that they cannot be trusted... 1. They would tell me they're coming on a given day, only to push it to a further date. 2. They had several no-shows and would not even bother to call and let me know. 3. After finally getting them to come and treat the pool, they did it wrong and the chlorine levels were extremely high at 60ppm (normal level is 2-4) to the point that you could get a rash if you swam on it. They put my family, my children, in danger. Luckily, I had the water professionally tested after they treated it and so was able to avoid the HEALTH RISK they put us in. 4. Sadly, after I showed them the proof that the chlorine levels were extremely high, all the owner could tell me was the the test was lying. 5. I put some chemicals myself to bring the chlorine levels down and it brought it down a little too much, it seems because when Dunota came back to test it again, they said that the chlorine level was at 1....so I went the very next day to test it professionally again at the same place, and their new chlorine level reading was at 0.5, resembling the low level that Dunota had said the 2nd time. So obviously the company that was professionally testing the water wasn't lying the 2nd time, so I have no reason to believe they were lying the 1st time neither. 6. Dunota then told me that they would come and treat it again that Friday...only to do yet another no-show. Not only did they not show up, but they didn't even bother calling me to tell me. 7. By now, I've had it, it's been 3 weeks dealing with these people. So I asked for my money back and they said no. 8. They never apologize for putting my family in DANGER, they never apologize for the REPEATED NO-SHOWS. They are terrible, unreliable, people that cannot be trusted. read more

Worst company ever. I work for a construction company so I understand the things that happen that force you to change your schedule, however they do not communicate with you WHAT SO EVER. They also lie and say the cleaned your pool when they did not. I have stood outside, watched the work truck pull up, no one get out, and then they leave. A few minutes later I get a survey asking how my service was and stating the work order is complete. This has happened multiple times. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
