Spend time explaining to me the products, show me install pictures and what they plan to do. Here to fix my messed up attempt at DIY dash cam install, and to get some interior lights. At the $139 price tag I honestly had some concerns, but with the Texas summer quickly approaching I gave it a go. I was advised to go early so I wouldn't have to wait too long so I got in around 10am. I was shown the different options of tint and was even given the choice of choosing the not so legal variety. I had some of that foggy film on my windows that I forgot to wash off, but they said it wouldn't be an issue as they clean it off before applying the tint. I was told to come back in 2 hours and when I did I could barely recognize my car with the new tint. Upon closer inspection the job was really well done so much so that my buddy that drove me there, Albert N., set up an appointment to get his windows tinted at that moment. JR's does a lot more than just tint (they advertise on rims, audio and just about anything else automotive you can think of) and with the courteous and professional people there I can't see how you can go wrong here.

Instead of advice on running boards he immediately went into a long sermon about MAGA politics. The front desk guy (not JR, to be fair) right away said how much he dislikes electric vehicles ("What you gonna do with them batteries one day..."). Also said he wasn't aware that VW still made the microbuses. I said mine is right out there and he sneered and said, "kinda hard to miss, ain't it." Things went downhill from there as he started in with his criticisms of government from an extremist Maga viewpoint, that windmill blades are running the planet ("Them Chinese melt down the old blades and dump them in the ocean), how the past presidents have let all of "those people," and so much more. No real help and loads of insults. My advice: look elsewhere for your retrofit needs.

Along with a full repaint, there were a number of small to medium maintenance things that needed doing, re surfacing the interior ceiling with new cloth, fixing some minor body issues, polishing and clearing up my head lamps. It was a lot of work, and took about a month - but when I got my car back on the other end I almost didn't recognize it. This was two days before Thanksgiving 2024 and after a couple weeks went by receiving no communication, I posted a review on Google still no phone calls. I reached out to them YET AGAIN after another week and instead of communicating about my vehicle she wanted to argue about the bad review I left stating they attempted to call me. I printed out my phone logs just to further prove my point that during this entire fiasco they have attempted to call me only once. I sat in their office having a face-to-face conversation with them stating that the cosmetics mean nothing to me I need my vehicle to operate mechanically and safely just as it did before I was hit. Weeks go by and still no word. Once again I call them and I was told was that they completed cosmetic work prior to even looking at the mechanical work and were still waiting to assess the mechanical portion. On what planet would a mechanical shop perform cosmetic work prior to any mechanical work?! What if the car is totaled? I mean, I'm just a mechanic too, What do I know? We have now started a brand new year. It's a week in to 2025 and the last time I have heard about my car was at the beginning of December. If you want your car fixed correctly and in a timely manner, do not bring your car here.. I wouldn't wish this place on my enemies. Lessons learned.
