I have a little 1962 Austin Healey that I've had nothing but problems with for two years. I finally decided whatever issues it had were out of my hands, and sent it to Jeff at British Auto Specialists to get an expert's opinion. I was nervous as he had so many other cars being serviced, but after my experience it is easy to see why this place is so popular, and my car was completed much quicker than I was expecting. The car now runs better than it ever did thanks to Jeff and Lloyd! They worked with me through the whole process explaining what needed to be fixed and other preventative maintenance recommendations I should complete. He was very fair and transparent about the bill, making sure we agreed upon the amount before the work was done. I am very pleased with the professionalism and high level of service and care I received. Jeff's expertise and many years of knowledge are definitely worth every penny here. This shop seems swamped with work because when I visited, cars fill the work and parking areas. Perhaps that situation explains the on-again, off-again rudeness of the company's owner, Jeff Sloan. Due to the crowded conditions, I was worried that my car might be damaged. In asking him some pointed questions over the phone pertaining to his shop performing additional restoration work on my '66 Jaguar E-Type convertible, he told me that I should take my business elsewhere. I ended the call by informing him that I would take his advice and that he had subsequently just lost $10,000-20,000 worth of my business over the next 12 months. I now use another shop that knows how to treat owners of six-figure collector cars. read more

Stay away from this place. They are a bunch of deceivers from the owner Larry all the way down to the janitor. I am still in shock how rude they were on the phone and in person. They do NOT know how to deliver even decent customer service. Trust me, it's worth the drive to leave Fort Worth to find another British Auto Specialist to work on your car. I would like to share a very bad experience I recently had with British Auto Specialists and its owner Jeff. I own a 2000 Jaguar Vanden Plas with 34,000 miles that I purchased this summer from the original owner. The car had whining noise in the rear end upon purchase and I suspected that there might be a differential problem. I took it to British Car Specialists to have the noise checked out and to have the original OEM "Comfort" shocks replaced to to age of the car. Jeff stated that the differential was a common problem on these cars and would have to be replaced with a new rebuilt one at a cost of of $2,500. I inquired if it could be low on gear oil and he checked this and told me that the differential oil level was fine because it was a system that did not have a drain plug and would not be low, basically a sealed system. I went ahead and had the rear shocks replaced initially and decided to wait on the fronts and the differential replacement. Jeff's explanation regarding changing out differential oil just didn't sit right with me. Upon some internet reading up on the differential issues with these cars, I learned that in fact the differential oil can be easily changed with a simple extraction pump and that low fluid is a common problem and easy fix. I went ahead and took the car to an independent shop that takes care of a Porsche 928. Low and behold, the differential was 1 quart down on a two quart capacity. Rear end whining noise solved, and there was no metal in the old oil upon analysis. Cost $120. I gave Jeff a friendly FYI call on what I had learned. I was not upset, really relieved at the fix and thought he would like to know, since his knowledge on the matter seemed limited. This man became Jekyll and Hyde, instantly irate on the phone, yelling and talking over every word I said, telling my that there was no way that the oil in the differental could have been low on oil, now claiming that he had in fact checked the levels. It was clear that he had deceived me and he had when exposed, turned into a childish bully. BTW, the OEM "Comfort" model bilstein shocks they placed on the car: turned out to be sport shocks from the XJR model, not my preference on a Vanden Plas. Stay away from this shop. Like some 8 year olds, Jeff will take no responsibility. This man will cheat you. STAY AWAY!!!! read more
