My wife and I are closed to expert wine drinkers. We have to wineries like Napa Valley and Finger Lakes. We travel all around to wineries. While on vacation in Myrtle Beach this place is new to us. Since we haven't been here in 4 years. If you are not an avid wine drinker then this will be a good experience for you. When we arrived the entrance they asked us if we wanted to try wine. You choose from 1 of 2 packages. Package #1 is $5 and doesn't include a FREE glass of wine. The second option you receive a FREE glass of your choice of wine. They provide you with a pager and tell you a time of when you will be paged. Then you are in a LARGE group of wine drinkers. They take you to the bar, and ask everyone where they're from, she explains where the grapes originate from and talk about the winery. They begin the wine tasting. It's the ones they choose. For example; I'm a dry winery drinker. They have 4 dry wines and only have you taste 2, and the other 8 is sweet. But when they do the wine tasting they start off with a dry white, then sweet, then 4 wines later you have a dry red. Hold up, everyone knows you go dry - sweet, not the opposite. I did not like the process. Only because I like to go in choose my wines, or a wine flight of the wines that you want to try. Not a fan of the process that they have in place. It's like a tourist trap if you ask me. If you like SWEET wine then you will love this place. We did purchase 4 bottles. I got a Blackberry, no matter how dry I like wines Blackberry is always my Kryptonite. My wife got the Sangria, and another white dry that we couldn't taste. Would I go back? No, because I like dry - semi-dry, and not sweet wines. I had a belly ache the rest of the night due to the sweetness of the wine. read more

Worthwhile group outing with great atmosphere. For $10 you get to taste at least 10 wines, keep the glass and have a complimentary glass of wine if your choice from their selection. Seats a group of about 16 people, takes about 30 minutes for the course of wines for tasting. Outside seating is comfortable and a singer performs live with background music. The Mascodine wasn't really to my tasting and all were sweet wines. I did enjoy the experience and will return and take groups. read more

It's misleading to say muscadine grapes are on the sweater side. In order to make wine and produce alcohol you need to turn sugar from grapes into alcohol. So to say the grapes are on the sweeter side isn't accurate. You back sweeten all your wines to make them more appealing. read more

A rainy day stop during our trip to the beaches. A large place. Check in at front desk and obtain a buzzer letting you know when to report for your tasting. There are four tasting areas we could see and they seem to have really nailed the process.the place was crowded and all the tasting rooms were occupied. Plenty of wine paraphernalia on sale. A nice feel to the place and staff very helpful. We purchased the $10 tasting. We were summoned and showed up at the appointed location to meet our pourer. She was very knowledgeable in fact, a bit too much so during the intro to the tasting. We were marched to our room and seated around a long rectangle with chairs, about 20 of us. Our pourer spoke for at least 10-15 mins about the winery and made a few sales pitches. We understand but it could have been shorter. The tasting itself was fine. All wines from the Muscadet grape. They are the largest producer and user of this grape in the US. The wines are generally nice, not as sweet as we would have thought. Some were lacking definition and were tasteless but for the berry or fruit in them. We did like a couple of selections. The Sweet Caroline was surprisingly good, with some nice effervescence, wonderfully refreshing. My wife liked the two Rose's. We bought a couple of bottles. The reds were not great. Friends and I had the pleasure of visiting Duplin Winery again and was thoroughly impressed by the tour and facility experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgable, and gave us a great tasting tour of the variety of wines they offer in their in-door bar area. The wine tastings were fun, our server had a great sense of humor, and we ended up buying a case of bottles to take home. The outdoor patio of the winery is beautiful, with a live bar and warmers on the patio. The winery is conveniently located near barefoot landing, many restaurants, and shopping areas. Would recommend a visit for anyone in the Barefoot landing area. read more

Let me preface this review with, I am not a fan of wine. If I drink wine, it is only because I am in the vicinity of others who enjoy wine. With that being said... I had a coupon for this location and decided it sounded like something fun to try on a cloudy spring break day. The wine tasting was only 5$ for the tasting, and 10$ to get the dip and a full glass of wine of your choosing at the end of the tasting (the cheese dip alone is worth the 5$). The gentleman who led our tasting tour was awesome. His name was Bruce or Brett...something with a B. Anywho, he told us all about the history not only of the company but also about how he in fact helped get the company to where it stands currently. He was a very humorous individual that also laid down a lot of information. I more than enjoyed listening to this gentleman while "Pouring, Drinking, Repeating" which was his motto for wine tasting. I would definitely recommend this location and this gentleman in particular to anyone in the area or planning on being in the area who is looking for a cheap and relatively fun place to go on a day off from the beach or typical spring break attractions. read more

First time visiting Dublin winery in Myrtle beach. I must say I've done wine tasting in every city and state I've visited , and Cathy was the best presenter I've ever had. She definitely knows her stuff. It was not only the experience of the tasting but the history and ideas on what to do. If I wasn't flying back to Texas Monday I'd come back just to do it again. This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach. We were initially skeptical of going to a "winery" in a retail park, but their experiences made our day. The Wine Bottling experience was a fun, unique group activity. Kenneth, our bartender/guide was very informative & made the whole group feel welcomed. Paired with the Wine Tasting experience, (we enjoyed our free glass of wine with some homemade fudge outside by the fire) the afternoon was not the typical visit to a winery. We will be coming back in July with the extended family and Duplin Winery made our list for a return visit. Can't wait! read more

Our favorite must go to while at the beach. Great atmosphere, quality service and great wines! We recommend doing a tasting, you never know which ones you will like best. I would have given 5 stars, but I'm disappointed this year. The peppermint cotton candy wine replacing my very favorite Christmas blush wines is awful. It tastes like chemical and medicine. In fact, all the cotton candy wines taste chemically. It's like you took your quality wines and added snow cone flavoring to them in the worst way possible. Bring back Jack Frost and Holly Rosé styles and quit doing the cotton candy where it seems unnatural. read more

My wife and I decided to end our vacation with a tasting of the Duplin offerings. The check-in system is a little out of the ordinary compared to what I am used to but makes sense, I guess in a very busy setting! I did learn that if you want to taste...come EARLY as the waiting times can run up quite steeply. It works like this: the next tasting starts at x time OR when the list has filled up to let's say 20 guests at their available bars. Then there's at least a 45min to an hour long wait for the tasting to be over and area to be cleaned up. Two options are available of which IMHO the more pricey one is the way to go. This one comes with a coupon for a free glass of wine, a souvenir glass and cheese and crackers to boot. The tasting self was fun with an entertaining sommelier who was well versed in pouring and telling of the history of Duplin. The wines are delicious and were still delicious even when we had them again at home! We ended our tasting with shopping where some great deals were to be had. I was impressed with the low price point of the wines ($7.95!!!) per bottle with even some sales under $5.- due to re-branding. To finish off our afternoon of debauchery, we traded our coupon for a free wine (begotten when we sat down for our tasting) and enjoyed this on the patio where a nice breeze, live-music and vacation noises kept us company. read more

March 2021: Melanie [I believe (sp)] was our host for the tasting and was very helpful, informative and quite humorous. She had a wonderful personality and made our tasting so enjoyable! Carlos wine was the best imo. Most wines were WAY too sweet for me... I personally prefer Savignon Blanc for white and Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon for reds...these were all just not dry enough. They did have an interesting slushie Margarita Mix with wine added....it had kind of a sweet tart aftertaste. Not my favorite today, but would be good perhaps in summer? The staff were all extremely pleasant and the outdoor seating area was super relaxing and pleasant. We missed the food today, but perhaps will try to travel to Myrtle Beach earlier to grab lunch next time. The service and all was a 5 star rating...only took away one star as I just didn't really enjoy the wine. Not their fault...just my own preference! read more

Large winery. We are vacationing in Myrtle Beach and decided to check this place out.i saw the display at Wal-Mart, where they sell songs of the cheaper wines. Thus place is huge and has a lot to offer. You can do a tasting (I love wine and wasn't a fan. Too sweet for my taste) but if you're a damn of sweet, you'll love this place! The person who dies tasting is very informative. The slushie at the end was my favorite and we used the drink ticket you get one of those. I did the rasberry mango slushie. Delicious! They sell all sorts of cool souvenirs and gourmet food items. I would definitely recommend a visit. You'll spend a minimum of 1 hour here. They had live music outside on thier cool deck. Honestly, some of the best wines I have tasted. I was down here visiting family and we stopped in for a tasting. Beyond reasonably priced ($5 or $10 tasting price options) and you get to sample 10 wines! I personally do not care for reds and only like sweet whites but I can say I enjoyed each and every wine that was within the sampling. The crackers that come with the tasting were also delicious. Prices of their wine bottles are also extremely reasonable and worth it. I would also suggest trying the wine slushies they have... DELICIOUS. I had the chocolatini which was a great treat to end the day here. I would also like to mention how organized the tastings were. I live in CT and the winery's out here really have no organization - you just go up to the counter, hope someone pays attention to you then stand and sample. Here, when you first walk in you go over the $5 and $10 sample options, put your name on a list (they also offer seats for people in your party not sampling which is nice!), you get a ticket and buzzer and once the buzzer goes off you go back to the main entrance where you are put into a group to go sit down at one of their few sitting/bar areas where you will have a list of what you are sampling along with a pen to mark which ones you did/did not like. It was very well thought out and I wish other places would pick up on this! read more

I found the Duplin Winery on line while looking for things to do while at Myrtle Beach. It's not hard to find, just past Bare Foot Landing. There's outside seating with music, and some swings. They have wine tasting for ten and five dollars. For ten dollars you get ten wines to taste, crackers, cheese dip, a souvenir wine glass, and a glass of wine after the wine tasting. The five dollar wine tasting is ten wines to taste, crackers, and a souvenir wine glass, a complimentary coaster also comes with it. The wine tasting grade sheet you get to take also, so that you remember what you tasted. It's a very nice winery with friendly and helpful people. There's some of every thing in the winery/store fudge, frozen alcohol and non alcohol drinks, muscadine jelly, black berry jelly, pineapple salsa and muscadine red pepper salsa. Christmas decorations and Halloween decorations. They already have a few Christmas trees decorated. They have a $49.00 membership that has some nice benefits if you're a wine connoisseur and even if you're not and just want to get the wine, I'm sure that's fine too. I stopped by twice during my stay, If you're at Myrtle Beach drop by the winery you will love it. BTW be sure to have your ID, they will check for the wine tasting. read more

If you enjoy a nice glass of Welch's grape juice to relax on vacation then this is the place for you! We went here for a wine tasting that was complimentary from our hotel. We knew they served mainly sweet wines, but these were over the top. The tasting process was unlike any I've ever been to. We had to wait to fill up one of their rooms for a group experience. Other tastings I have been at you can grab a spot at the bar and have a tasting with just your party. Once the tasting began, we were given complimentary crackers and dip which was delicious! However, that is where the enjoyment ended. I will be the first to say I am not a sweet wine drinker, however I can appreciate a good sweet wine especially in a tasting serving size. These wines were not at all palatable. The sugar content was higher than the alcohol content. The cotton candy wines tasted like children's tylonel and cough medicine. I barely had any of the wines during the tasting, but I had such a headache from all the sugar afterwards. Again, I do not prefer sweet wines but I have been to other tastings and appreciated some of the sweeter options. These were cheap and sugary. read more

I honestly didn't want to go here because I'm not a huge wine fan but my girlfriend talked me into it. I was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience. The wines were actually very good I prefer sweet wine and am not a fan of bitter or dry wine. Most of the wines we tasted were sweet and very good especially the cotton candy. For 10$ you got to taste 10 or so wines, you get crackers and cheese dip, you get to keep your wine glass, and you get a glass of wine or slushee at the end. I just want to address some of the negative reviews. Yes, the wines here are sweet. It's their specialty! Wines vary by region, welcome to the South, this isn't Napa Valley. Duplin Winery is known for the muscadine grape which is sweet. While I prefer dry wines, as a wine taster I can appreciate the concept of tasting & pairing wines. That's the point! Exposing your pallet to new flavors. With that being said, I really enjoyed the wine tasting they offer here. There are two type just wine & crackers or wine crackers, cheese & bonus glass of wine. I was so glad I went for the upsell, it was only a couple bucks more - so worth it! They have a variety of whites & reds, they had their holiday wines and my favorite the slushie wine! There was about a group of 12 of us, not huge so we got to ask questions and talk to each other which was nice. There were some locals and they love Duplin so much they are members! That's a good sign! The cheese dip was out of this WORLD! So creamy, sweet yet had a kick of spice. I started taking crackers from my aunt so I could scoop every last bite of it from my container! The wines were lovely! Naturally I enjoyed some more than others, but it's just a taste. As I mentioned earlier, the slushie was my favorite! They had a holiday blend that was perfectly sweet and refreshing! I went home with a box of the mix. It's so easy throw a pack in the blender with a bottle of wine and hello amazing wine night! Paid $10 for the deluxe wine tasting,but could've gotten the $5 ticket because the cheese spread(which was only for the deluxe ticket holders) was given to everybody in the room by our wine host. I really could've done without it. We were really disappointed we didn't get more information about the wine and the winery. Wow! I rarely give five stars, but I loved this experience. My boyfriend and I love wine and this was such a FUN time! From check in till time to leave, we were having fun. The options seemed endless and it's a super affordable price whether you choose the $5 or $10 experience! We chose the $10 experience and got to take home our wine glasses :) They serve cheese and crackers while tasting and they were sooooo good!! The gift shop is cute and also has a huge selection of wine as well as their specialty sauces/jellies. We loved sitting out door and listening to the live music while drinking our "free" glass of wine that came with our $10 package purchase. Loved this place!
