I didn't love the wine but I do enjoy trying lots of different wines. Most of their wine is sweet, so if that is your taste preference you should definitely come by. I did a wine tasting group with my parents via Groupon. The woman giving the information about our wines was very informative, and answered all of our questions. She did seem a bit annoyed at times, which was frustrating. We had a good afternoon doing the tasting and enjoying some live music outside on their patio after the tasting. The winery itself has an awesome store inside where you can purchase all of their wines, and tons of wine accessories. For a $20 Groupon, I would do the wine tasting again. They do the best wine tastings here! Not rushed, lots of information about the wines and the history of the vineyard. Tasted 10 wines and a slushee and kept the souvenir glass for $10 pp. Afterwards, you can get a full glass of any wine you tasted or a slushee by presenting your ticket and glass at the bar...included in the $10 tasting! They have a $7 tasting also that does not include the glass of wine at the end, although wine by the glass is available for purchase. Here with a group? Bring them along...there are multiple tasting bars and they all seat at least 20 people. NOTE: Most of their wines are sweet or semi sweet because of the types of grapes grown in the region; they have only 2 or 3 drier wines. This was my first time with this Duplin experience; it was a boat load of fun! If you are traveling with a group, make sure you all arrive at the same time; they scan ID's and you all will go to the sampling area together. We had a party of 4 and one of people were late so we waited for her before we went to the counter. They have 2 options for sampling: The $10 one includes 10 samples of wine, a complimentary wine glass, gourmet cheese and crackers, a one glass of wine of your choice; the $5 option doesn't include the cheese and crackers. We waited for about 10 minutes after checking in and browsed the store where they have bottles of wine, t-shirts, wine glasses, and a plethora of other cute gift ideas. Once we were in the sampling area, Peter gave us an overview of how the sampling would work and gave us several facts on the history of Duplin and the grapes they use. I had no idea Duplin had so many varities of wine!! We had a wonderful time, and after we chose our glass of wine we went to the outdoor area to enjoy our drinks and listen to live music. Went to the winery and inquired if I could share a wine tasting and the old lady at the front desk said very snotty " No! It is against the law in South Carolina!" She then turned to her male colleague and said " Why does everyone get mad at me when I tell them this law?" Well, it might be the nasty tone you used and most of us visiting are from out of state. She could have used some of that southern charm people love. We bought 4 bottles of wine and asked if they gave military discount, they do! The cashier then took my military card and started putting information into the computer and she said she had to put it in. I told her no thank you I do not want my personal info in the computer. She persisted and I said no thank you again. It was to the point my family and I just wanted to leave. I do love the wine, but I will not come back here again. Where my love for wine all began! Visited the Myrtle Beach location where I quickly became a club member and ventured to the Rose Hill location to explore Duplins roots. Rose Hill was a great experience as Johnathan gave us the tour of the warehouse and did our wine tasting. Don't even have anything remotely dry even though they say they do...is a total tourist trap of shitty "sweet" wine. please go to a real winery where the people are one nice and two have actual good wine. bad service and one old lady pouring wine so if you go prepare to wait forever. Vegan Muscatine wine! We own a condo that we rent just a few blocks from the new wine tasting center so we looked the winery up on barnivore.com and bingo-they are accidently vegan (no egg, dairy or fish bladders like some of the cheap, bulk wine use in processing). We were there right at opening during the week when it was quiet and did not know we would have to wait around about 15 minutes for others to show up to do a small group of us at once. But once we started, they have pre-selected 9 wines and 1 freeze/cooler to sample. It goes at a nice pace. All staff were really friendly. Nice store. Great vegan salsa for sale, too. For $5 you get a fun experience and a wine glass to bring home. Their wine is for sale at the same price at the N. Myrtle Beach Krogers but the Krogers may not have the wide variety the tasting center has. Recommend it should the weather keep you off the beach for a bit. read more

We were in town and it was raining, so we decided to give this a try. I can say that the facility is nice. The tasting itself was fun. The person was funny, knowledgeable and keep it light and easy. The wine...................... If you like White Zinfandel, this will be right up your alley. Every glass was sweeter than the one before. Perhaps it's their coveted muscadine grape that made it taste like it hadn't aged into actual wine, but more like grape juice. If you are expecting a wide variety in a tasting, you maybe disappointed. read more

The wines were far too sweet. I am an avid dry red drinker, and I was disappointed that with the many wines they offer, we had to sit through a long elaborate bartender speech, trying to sell memberships and her personal life story. We also were given the 10 wines to drink and did not get to choose. As a person who goes to many wineries, I've never had the experience of being given my wines, especially when I know my palate enjoys dry reds. The I wanted to enjoy the time with my group and not have to sit through an elaborate speech. It would be better if you could choose your wines, and also take your time or taste quickly on your own time. read more
