This place has a marketing wizard on Staff! Facility has 4 tasting rooms and they book you for the tastings. While you wait there are lots of items to admire and purchase. Beautiful place with live music on deck that was packed. None of us liked any of the 10 wines we tasted. You have to like VERY sweet wines to enjoy this wineries selections. They use Muscadine and other sweet grapes. You won't find a chardonnay or anything dry. But if you like your wine to be of the grape juice and dessert variety you will love it. Great tasting room. Winery is actually in Rosehill N.C. Wine drinkers beware, if you are used to dryer west coast or Virginia wines, these are very sweet muscadine wines. Their semi-dry is like a Riesling. However it has a great atmosphere. It's a Monday afternoon and they have live entertainment on their drinking deck. Wonderful experience. Poor Wine Tasting Bar Tender: First, my family has been to this winery multiple times over the last several years. It's a regular stop of ours. We opted for a wine tasting this round. They were wonderful the last few times and a great price. However, we were disappointed. There were four of us in the party and two of us who were tasting. Two of us opted out but were told at the front that we would be able to sit with our group anyhow. So we did what we were told and settled in. When CAROLYN (she told us to mention her name on here if it was good but not if it was bad. Well it was bad and I'm calling it out). Shouldn't you want reviews of all kinds? I'm sure management would! Came to check in with everyone she was very rude, dismissive and appeared to be annoyed by the two of us that were joining but not tasting. Like we didn't belong and her body language gave us the impression that she wanted to leave. Again, only following instructions from the check in desk. She did not have patience for others talking and again her body language made that very clear. It only got worse as she was observed to be very sloppy and continued to drip wine over and over again. Even getting a tasters crackers soaked with wine only to have them ask to borrow someone else's. She did not explain the water or the dump jugs. Finally, discussed openly how she does not agree with South Carolina State law about how someone in her position can not drink when they are working and how she felt she should be able to drink. I sure hope someone reads this and addresses this with her! Everyone can change and improve but again only with positive and constructive criticism. read more

Awesome experience! Way more then we expected. The wine sampling is like a brief wine school with an interesting history lesson. They make it fun. It's not one of those places that just give you 5 samples and pass you off. You pay$5-$10 for the tasting ( well worth the money. For 10 bucks you get 10 samples, crackers and a really awesome cheese spread with there home made crackers, you keep the sampling glass, and a glass of wine after the tasting. For $5 you don't get the cheese spread or the free glass of wine. But you get to keep the glass. Heads up, if sweet wine isn't your thing in the least, you may not like there wine sweet is what they do. The have a couple that are not very sweet and more dry but still sweet. The people who work there are so nice and friendly they add to the experience. The wine is very affordable. Beautiful Winery and delicious wines. More for the folk who enjoy a sweeter wine but they did have two that stood out for the dryer liking. We did the deluxe tasting which included a tasting of 12 wines, garlic crackers, and a cheese dip which I personally thought matched well with the wines. We were so excited to hear about the wine club they offered however were TOTALLY bummed to find out they do NOT ship to New Jersey! I don't understand being another vineyard in the area can ship to NJ and did send us a few bottles. We're hoping in the near future they will be able to. We loved the wine so much. read more

Breakdown...very nice place. All sweet wines. This comes from them using one type of grape. If you like sweet wines you will love this place, if you like dry reds skip this. Here is what pissed me off the most...you can't purchase a bottle and drink it onsite. You have to buy by the glass. 2nd and this is the one that has me extremely mad at the staff right now. After asking several staff about taking wine home on a plane they all acted like it wasn't a big deal and only certain airlines give you problems. Bullshit! Tsa only allows you to take 3.4 Oz on with you. Unless you check a bag your not getting this stuff home. Very rushed tasting. You barely get to drink the wine before they are coming at you with another one. Our server seemed to just want to rush through it and get to the next group. I also didn't like being shoved into a cramped space with a bunch of people to taste wine. These are alllllll sweet wines. Participated in a wine tasting this past weekend. This was mine and my husbands second time. Brought friends with us who had never been before. Got to try holiday wines as well as others. We are out of towners who decided to try this wine tasting out. We have gone to a lot of tastings where you all stand around and someone pours you a couple glasses and you awkwardly stand there and sip. We loved the set up of this tasting. The absolute best wine I have ever tasted. If you love sweet wine then this is your Mecca. I have made several trips to this winery and always went through the tasting program. No longer living within an hour of there, I now order all my wine online. My favorite would be Sweet Caroline! Any of their estate (premium) wines are just fabulous. Shipping gets costly if you drink a lot but waiting for the wine to arrive is like opening up a Christmas present. Wow I love wine tasting and this place is one of the best! You can do their 'deluxe' wine tasting for ten dollars. It differs from their classic tasting as they give you a dip for the crackers they provide. They gave us a cream cheese pineapple and habanero spread it wasn't very spicy but very tasty! They also give you a free glass of wine of your choice with the deluxe tasting(must be one of the wines from the tastings). Considering a glass of wine is usually 5 dollars there the 10 dollars for the ultimate tasting is completely worth it! What makes this place so great is that their bottles range from 10-12 dollars and it's some of the best wine I've ever had and I usually buy 14-22 dollar bottles. Also there is live music, and the guy we heard was really good. People even got up and started dancing to the music. Everyone was cheerful and it felt like a nice community vibe. It is pretty crowded especially on the weekends so I'd aim to get there by three or before if you want to secure a table and seat out on the patio where the music is. read more

We've been in North Myrtle beach about a week now. Today we decide to try the alligator park located straight across from where we are staying. At the end of a mundane trip thru the park they offer a wine tasting free with your admission. So we headed into Duplin. By far the best experience we've had while being here. The tasting was a total blast. The people were funny and the hostess was very fun and informative. After purchasing a few bottles we started to leave only to find it had began to pour down. I told my girlfriend to wait I'd run back thru the alligator park and get the car. Imagine my shock to find the park gates locked and the business closed 2 hours early. I ran back to the Winery to find out the shortest path around the park as we were stranded. A very polite man offered to give us a ride back to our car. He picked us both up at the door on the way back to the car we found out he was 1 of the 2 Fussell brothers we had just heard about. Dave Fussell co-owner of Duplin Winery was driving us to our car. He was by far one of the most down to earth guys you'd meet, incredibly friendly. So our experience at the Winery was to say the least amazing. read more

Between the wine and the Worlds Largest Frying Pan we couldn't help but become huge fans! When we moved to South Carolina our wine choice was still Duplin!! When my daughter got married we served Duplin Wine and when they opened shop in North Myrtle Beach we became part of the Duplin family by joining the Heritage club. We love our wine tastings and this one by far has been our favorite. Everyone who works there were so friendly! WE absolutely loved how the tasting was organized. A group of wine tasting goers are seated around a private bar and you have a bartender for the group. You are provided a catalog and list of 12 wines with their descriptions for the ones you will be tasting along with a pen so you can note the ones you liked and didn't like. We were quite surprised on how many we would be tasting as the ones we have been to back home in Massachusetts just give you a list and you choose 4/5 to taste so this really gave you an opportunity to try several different kinds. In addition you are served crackers and for an extra few dollars you can get a delicious sweet and creamy cheese spread and a glass of the wine you enjoyed most which you could drink and enjoy on their outside patio. I wish I could recall the name of the bartender we had because he was so knowledgeable and super personable. Anytime we are back in the Myrtle Beach area we will certainly be visiting again!
