Big fan of this location and its convenience to downtown and Fort Lewis! I got their drip coffee, which was their Mosaic (one of my favorite roasts) and my husband got one of their cold brews. Delicious as always and some of my favorite coffee cups I've used. Their merch is also available here and is definitely worth a buy: particularly their to-go mugs. I think I have a few shirts from here as well that I've worn into the utter ground. Service was friendly and fast. No complaints. I've visited this place multiple times and always have a good experience. The coffee is great and they have a ton of options. This time I asked them to surprise me with either a Peppermint White Mocha or a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte and I got the first. It was great, not too sweet though could've used more Peppermint. OK, just OK. Friendly baristas, fast service. My Mexican Mocha could have used more kick, not enough heat nor chocolate flavor. One of my companions had a green tea latte, and it was so green it could have glowed in the dark. Too much food coloring. Spacious interior with lots of room for chatting with friends. These guys are the best!!! Very friendly, great service ( they'll remake your coffee if you don't like it! They said, "We want you to be happy with your coffee!") If you want stronger coffee in the 16 oz Americano you'll have to ask for 3 shots, for either decaf or regular espresso. Pastries and sandwiches are good but the selection is limited. The Durango Joe's downtown consistently has a better selection of pastries but the coffee is just as good. read more

I traveled to Durango last week with a buddy who is a Coffee Snob. I was here with him last year in May. Last trip he said this was the best coffee he had all week. They have the right idea. They award you when you buy your D Joes card. The first coffee is free. I have frequented D Joes several times in the past few years and they just seem to get better. If you are visiting from out of town, try local, Durango joes is one of the better establishments to emerge out of Durango. So skip Starbucks and give this a try. If you are only in town for a few days this should be on your itinerary. read more

Coffee was not good and the sandwiches and burrito were not fresh. Not sure if all the locations were as bad as this one, but my three friends and I were not impressed. We actually stopped eating Joe's food and went across the street to Subway to get sandwiches before our 4 hour drive home. Eh, good size shop with seating & wi-fi but overall food & drink isn't anything to write home about. It'll do the job if you need your fix or a quick pastry or sandwich, but nothing really impressive to see here. Delicious coffee with friendly service :) Vanilla latte had just the right amount of sweetness and was piping hot. The baristas are super nice and get your coffee to you quickly. Out of the whole bunch, this is my favorite Joe's shop. The atmosphere is a mix of business people, cops, and college kids. They're open till 10 or 11 almost every night, so it's the perfect place to begin an all-nighter :) And the staff is far and away the best of any other Joe's in town...of any other coffee place in town, for that matter. My favorite drink is a "dirty" chai with a shot of espresso. And I love that Joe's gives a discount when you bring in your own mug! read more

I use to live here in Durango during my stint at FLC. Coming back to Durango for a quick visit required us to stop here. It is just as I remembered, staff is friendly, coffee is strong, and there are enough seats for a small study group & still have other enjoying the place as well. The lemon bars (my favorite) are so freaking delicious, tangy with the perfect ratio of lemon to crust. Their London Fog is really awesome (Earl Grey tea, with steamed milk & vanilla syrup - I got coconut milk instead). My husband is the coffee drinker & he really enjoys the coffee because it's strong & apparently full bodied. Gender neutral bathrooms are a plus. The only thing that would be more helpful is to have more outlets for those caffeine craving/strung-out students that have procrastinated for far too long (raises hand, because I was one of them). We will continue coming back here every time we visit. read more

Locals call this the best coffee shop in Durango. I agree - the coffee is great. The service was outstanding. However, there weren't enough food options and even worse, no GF options. You could purchase GF bars, but that was it. Other than that, I would go back or buy their coffee beans if they were in a store. read more

I used to switch between Durango Joe's and Starbucks back when I first moved to Durango. Starbucks started tasting like coffee brewed from burned coffee beans. Durango Joe's tasted like heavenly coffee in a cup. They have yummy food (available until it's gone), and the coffee is always fresh and hot, unless of course you're looking for some iced coffee, then it's cold :) Their 911 coffee is the bomb! Really, when I had some serious finals to cram for, or I had been up late studying and needed more of a pick me up than just coffee or a Monster Energy, I'd grab a 911 on the way to class, and then another 911 on the way to study after class. I didn't sleep well on those nights, but that's a caffeine surge for ya'. I got good grades despite the lack of sleep. I credit Durango Joe's a teeny tiny bit for helping me achieve my good grades (lol). Seriously though, if you're in the market for a REALLY GOOD cup of NOT SO ORDINARY coffee, hit up Durango Joe's (there's 2 in town, and 1 on the outskirts near the Office Depot). I was in Durango for a two day meeting. I stopped at Durango Joe's for a chai both mornings. First, the staff was EXTREMELY friendly. Everyone smiled, talked to you, and was just overall helpful and friendly. Second, the inside had great natural light and space for people to chill. They do roast their own coffee which is nice for the freshest coffee but I am not impressed enough to buy their roasted coffee for use at home. Visited legendary coffee shop while I was in town for my caffeine fix, and it indeed fixed it. I only tried the mocha, but damn it was delicious! You could actually taste the espresso in the drink rather than being drowned out by the mocha like some chains tend to do. The wait at this location was longer than other locations, but it's smack dab in downtown so that's to be expected. I can't wait to revisit on my next trip to Durango. read more

I don't understand how a coffee shop opens so late. In my experience, waking up early calls for coffee. Up at 5am and 6am but yet these coffee shops aren't open until 7-8. It's frustrating going out of your way to get coffee to only have the place not open. No coffee for the early bird. read more
