Beware of the delicious gluten-free muffins - I have purchased many over the course of the last 6 months and 4 have been so burned on the bottom and sides that I could only eat about 2/3 of them. This morning, I took the inedible burned section back to the coffee house to show the barista/s the problem & she seemed like I was inconveniencing her & just made excuses for why the muffins get burned. I made a few suggestions about how the problem might be resolved & she just shined me on...tho did ask if I wanted a coffee! Like a number of other recent reviewers' have commented, the staff could be more attentive and offer better customer service. Do better, 81301! read more

Wow, their Chai is delicious! Literally said wow after my first sip. Walking in the service is friendly and welcoming. The milk alternatives are great. I will be coming back to try all their cold brew soon. The ambience here is mellow and although I was only here for less than 5 minutes I did enjoy my time waiting for my Chai. read more

This is a friendly little shop on North Main. I usually get drip coffee or cold brew here and like both. They often have single-origin brews available, which is a good thing. Because it's north of downtown, 81301 Roasters is usually quieter than other Main Ave shops. This is a good place to get work done. Best coffee in Durango, hands down. Friendly proprietor and staff. Had a 12 oz hot latte. Smooth, bold and freaking delicious. I LOVE espresso, and I make it a point to try specialty espresso drinks everywhere we go (hVe been to 49 states). Came in for a cold brew that was quite good. The barista knew what my wife meant when she asked about the "notes" in the brewed coffee, which is always a good sign. And they had something other than the usual floral or fruity varieties that we don't prefer. It's a small place, but they have indoor seating. What happened to "service with a smile" or a greeting, or a thank you? While the coffee is excellent, the staff is somewhat dismissive or ambivalent. I went in for a couple of coffee's and was asked, without a glance up, what can I get you?, stated price, then the credit card screen with tip options displayed. It doesn't make a customer feel good or valued when you can't even get a smile or a thank you, and are asked to tip. There are lots of good and friendly places to get coffee in Durango and this isn't the first time I've been treated like this (from multiple staff). I won't be going in again. read more

The place had a relaxing vibe with a wonderful smell of fresh roasted coffee. We were happy and looking forward to good experience. Then we met an employee with an attitude. She appeared annoyed, taking our excitement and turning it into regret. We chose this place over Durango Joes because we wanted to try a new experience and the atmosphere was better than Joes. But our desire to try a new experience ended at the counter. Joe's has friendly employees that make eye contact and always seem happy and glad to see their customers. Maybe for the much younger generation positive human interaction is not necessary. But for me, I still appreciate a friendly face and kindness. Not to much to ask. read more

I kid you not! When you order your Mocha Breve, at your first sip you will be taken back in time to your family kitchen when chocolate chip cookies were in the oven. The in-house ground coffee and house syrups, will blow you away. The team behind the counter extend the family kitchen atmosphere. It made our first visit there one to remember. We just moved to Durango and this is now our favorite coffee shop here. My only request would be that they include White Chocolate on the menu in the future so I can order a Black & White Mocha. read more

I got the brown sugar almond latte - delicious. My husband tried a Dr. Pepper espresso drink that was on the specials menu, but did not like it and ended up throwing it away. He knew it was a risk, though, being an unusual combination. I recommend sticking with the classics and you should be good to go. read more

Under new ownership and they have taken the bean roasting to the next level. I mostly make espresso at home and have ordered beans from roasters all across the U.S. and the specialty roasts here are among the best I've ever had. read more
