My nail-biter hands were atrocious, and she really took time on them with a manicure before the full set. My first two fingers on each hand curve to the side, but she managed to make them look straight without making the nail look crooked instead. This is less of a salon and more of a factory. Their goal is to get you in and out quickly and for that reason, quality is lacking. I got an SNS manicure. Less than 24 hours later two nails were chipped. I had them repaired and less than 24 hours later they were both chipped AGAIN, along with three other nails. This is the second time this has happened. Their solution at Durbin was to tell me to keep coming back and having them repaired for free. Uh, no. I shouldn't be expected to waste my gas and my time continually repairing something that was never done right in the first place. I'd give this place zero stars if I could. Skip Durbin. There are plenty of other reputable nail salons in the area who do quality work that lasts 3 plus weeks. Durbin isn't worth your time. read more

Went here looking for a new home for my nails after my tech of 5 years decided to enter another field of work. I have been to several spots in Jacksonville paying anywhere from $60-120 trying to find the right fit. Although this place is high on the price point ( paid $120 with tip included), I got EXACTLY what I wanted and my nail tech Marsynela(spelling ????) took her time and was very good with the fine detail work I had asked for. Needless to say, I am her client until she stops doing nails! Ha. My first time in the place was SLAMMED and did not have an appointment, I only waited about 20-30 minutes! The work was decent but they charged me $60 for a fill because the color I showed her "looked like color powder". In reality it just takes less time to do the colored powder bc you don't need to paint them and it was coming near closing time. I hate that I had to change my 5 star prior review as this place used to be so much better. Brandi was so amazing and I have still continued to come after she left. Today I had a nail technician named Ken 2 seats from the back on the left side. He was so rude and spoke down to me. I'm not one to make a seen, but this will be my last visit. No one ever deserves to be spoken to like that especially with his inappropriate comments. I'm truly sad that this is how this one person can ruin your overall experience. Had a full set of acrylics done on December 14. Two weeks later 4 of them had just fallen off. Durbin refused to make it good. I had an appt to have them replaced, at my own expense, as well as a pedicure and fill. An hour after my appt time, I was still waiting and was told there were still people ahead of me. Started off with a friendly conversation with the nail tech, and i showed him the design beforehand of what i wanted and he raised no issues. Then it started with super aggressive nail drilling that he was constantly cutting my cuticles with on multiple fingers, stung super bad when he put whatever solutions on right after. When it got towards the design part he kept messing up and wiping it off, getting super frustrated. Eventually told me he couldn't do it but could do different flowers, and I said that was okay (I don't usually get designs anyway). Still took him about 30 minutes for just flower dots that he used the ends of the drill heads to do. I accidentally nicked my thumb on the plastic divider, messing up my thumb, and he proceeded to get super frustrated saying "I just put away the nail polish" and "this is so frustrating", blaming me in the process. No nude base under the design so you can see right through the acrylic at my real nails. Later said out loud to passing coworkers that he "can't keep moving desks, this is so fucking annoying". Stormed off to the break room afterward while my nails were drying and finally came back so I could pay. My friend who I went with had the opposite experience, her design was snowflakes and gift bows and they looked perfect. How is there such a range in staff capability? I feel like flowers are pretty basic. Not sure of his name, but a young man with sleeve tattoos and a nose stud piercing who spoke very clear english. read more

I always had a great experience here, however i got SNS dip on a Saturday, by Monday morning they were already chipping. I was told that i could come back and get them fixed. When I arrived the mail tech told me my nails were not done well the first time. I really wanted to love this nail salon. Sadly my last visit was it for me. First let's talk price, it will cost you now $70 ish for a new set acrylics with gel polish, it used to be $55. That almost a $20.00 increase and nothing changed. Second your acrylics will not last at all. Every time I have gone (this is my 6 or 7th time), I have a random nail break in half and it will be less than 1 week old. Now for my last visit I asked for coffin, every single nail was differently shaped, I have odd indents, the acrylics was on my skin they were a mess. And guess what my nail broke within 4 days. They try to fix them when I told them I didn't get what I asked for but it impossible to be fixed and I still had to pay $50. I ended up going to another salon who fixed my shape and told my nails were too thin that's why they broke. If you want to waste your money because the seem really good and it's pretty inside go for it but I wouldn't go here. If you have the privilege to burn money...go here. I went and got a pedicure, paid over $50.00 not including the tip and this lady didn't do shit. My pedicure was over in less than 30 minutes, this was including gel coat. I was so upset, I spoke to the "manager" and she stated that they provided a service and she couldn't do nothing. 2 weeks later, my friend also went to get a pedicure and was upset because they did the same thing...25 minutes on her pedicure, with nail colored. This business is all about money and not about the client!! I rather drive to Orange Park and continue with my old nail technician, than waste my money here!! Plz...these type of business should be reported to the BBB and pray they change the way they handle complaints or just shut down. read more

Durbin nail salon is brand new, clean, and offers a large variety of colors with friendly service. I live very close by and love the convenience. Much better than driving to Southside or town center, where I previously had my nails done. Personally, I believe Durbin Nail Spa is overrated. They overcharge you. Every time I go, I'm usually not satisfied with my nails. Some nail techs are rough and they rush through the set. I used to work in the customer service industry, so I understand when it gets busy, everything is a rush. However when I'm charged over 70$ for my nails and they don't come out anywhere close to what I ask for, I get upset. The nails usually are misshapen, uneven, crooked, and I work hard for my money and I hate wasting my money on ugly nails. Happily, will never come back to this place. read more

There are many technicians are other nail salons that are good, but these people excel. I also don't have to be concerned with the cleanliness of the spa, it is spotless. The techs really strive to make your experience very relaxing and leave with beautiful fingers & toes. Sometimes when I have an appointment, I'll tell Amy that I want nude nails. The design I get when I finish is outstanding. She knows that I want some bling, but not too much (well, not today at least). Nancy keeps my feet callus-free and gorgeous as well. The pedicure I received was okay but the full set of acrylic nails I got were horrible. I saw one of my nails was crooked and asked the technician to please fix it and he just looked at me like I was annoying him and didn't fix it. My nails are all different sizes and uneven. I came home with a lot of bruised fingertips... she really did a number on my fingers. Also filed my skin too hard that it bled. The pain was excruciating every time she added chemicals on my nails (I was getting a full acrylic set). And most importantly I would have loved it if i saw them sanitizing their stuff as they would perform the service. Not once have I seen her clean her tools, it was really disappointing and worry some to see such a sight. Only reason I did give 2 stars is that, she did sculpt my nails on point (I mean if she's gna tear my skin I would expect some decent work). Unfortunately i won't be coming back... this was my first nail salon after Covid and it was not relaxing at all. I was constantly worried how else she was gna injure me. She was so rough, i was very unpleased. It was to a point i just wanted to pay and get out even though some of the design she put on cld have had some work done. The salon is very well d curated with a nice environment. Unfortunately they really do not hold to an appointment time nor is the quality of the pedicure worth the price. I showed up a few minutes early to check in, then waited a few minutes before they moved me to an unattended pedicure chai. No water for soaking, felt like I was still in waiting area. My pedicure finally began 25 minutes after by appointment time. From start to finish my "royal" pedicure, not the basic pedicure only lasted 25 minutes. No real massage, just put some lotion on and was done. With all the salons in the area, I would not recommend this one. Very disappointed as it is close to home. read more

Used to love this place until my absolutely horrible experience tonight!!! Spent over 2 hours there to get an acrylic fill and my nails look horrible. To start the lady that was going to do my nails told me I couldn't get the design I wanted and I could only get them painted, should have left right then. She then didn't file all the paint off even after I brought it up to her twice. She filed my nails way to thin and they felt like they would crack almost immediately. The lady tried to tell me my nails were already thin and she had added to them! My nails were definitely not that thin when I had went in. The entire time I was sitting there 2 other employees were sitting there talking and giggling in another language while this woman was trying to do my nails. When she went to paint I declined and let her know I would be going elsewhere to get them fixed. She proceeded to charge me $40. Before leaving a man asked why I didn't want them painted so I explained and he said he would fix them and I let him. Once he was done he asked what color I wanted and I said just a clear sparkle. He got a silver glitter polish and painted my nails. After the first coat I asked for him to only do one coat because it was too much glitter. He said just wait and proceeded to paint a second coat on my nails while I'm thinking he must be planning something cause I told him I don't like it. Nope straight silver glitter so before he could put a second coat on my other hand I asked him to remove the paint! Now I have unpainted not even buffed nails that look horrible and now have to pay somewhere else to do the design that I originally wanted. Will not return after that experience!! read more

Went this weekend for the first time and was grossed out regarding their sanitary measures. Doesn't appear that tools were sanitized between customers. I'm used to seeing them sealed in wrappers after being sanitized, and opened up before the customer. My cuticle was then cut too short which resulted in an open cut which grossed me out further knowing the tools may not be sanitary. The last straw was when the technician grabbed an extra glob of lotion off the arm of the customer next to me and started applying it to my arm. I gave the two stars because the work happens to be still intact. Definitely won't be going back though. read more

Appointments are a joke! My daughter made an appointment a month in advance and received an email confirmation. Day of appointment she is told that she is not in the "book". If they do not write your appointment in their book you are not confirmed! What is the point of email confirmation!! I use to really like this place but it is going downhill fast!
