The dental assistant was clear and very helpful. 4. The Doctor was amazing! He did not make me feel uncomfortable and did not judge me because I haven't been to the dentist in over a year. I just can't not write a review about this place first of all I felt like I was going to swallow whatever it was that was sour thing during the filling I asked if I can use the suction pointing hand gestures the doctor made a face and then said don't close my mouth or they have to start over. Personally for me it feels sloppy and messy. Another thing is the lady outside with blonde hair and glasses insisted I came for a cleaning which I did not.. she said yes you did we gave you a full exam and I said.. I didn't come for cleaning omg. She kept licking her teeth as she's talking to me. First of all it felt disrespectful and if the front desk person is trying to tell you did a Procedure you didn't do that is very worrisome. Also when the doctor is done she just gets out her seat and leaves. Didn't say anything. I came here because another dentists was trying to scam me but this place seems to be worse I mean.. if the front lady kept saying yes you did come for a cleaning when I didn't.. is a very odd experience. Also the insurance kept saying look at statement or something several times, seems like they can't even bill the insurance to get themselves paid cause the names aren't matching. Overall nobody there knows what they're doing not even the doctor. I'm not leaving a one star because it almost seemed decent the first stage and the person taking X-ray was the only one who knows what she's doing but that don't matter cause I got the simplest work done and it felt uncomfortable can't imagine them drilling or doing a harder procedure. Another thing is I'm sitting and waiting on them but the doctor who I was waiting on says she's tight on time.. well I was waiting on you guys and doctors are supposed to answer a few questions she's not the one to address your concerns well enough if you're looking for that I would say based on my visit. read more

I've been a patient of 20+ years and have become an adult with my own insurance plan (same insurance company Delta but just now my own plan). I was told they aren't taking new patients with Delta. Then they offered the dental service but 140 out of pocket, effectively saying fuck you for becoming an adult we aren't taking your insurance anymore. I'm not a new patient at all, the only thing that changed was that I have my own insurance. So fuck me in PARTICULAR, I GUESS. Also last time I was here, the dentists messed up the procedure and I got an infection. Long wait, office is too hot, staff is unprofessional. Go somewhere else. Wow! Amazing team. I had went to see another specialist first who wanted to charge me $1400 for a wisdom tooth. Front desk was able to get me scheduled within the week and made sure they took my insurance & it was less than 1/10th of the cost. When I arrived they were prompt and explained everything to me and were able to fit me in the day of my consultation. I've never had a tooth removed and it was a painless process. Just called and asked about being a new patient. I was asked about the type of insurance that I was using and I said DeltaCare USA. They asked what type since there are exclusions. I gave them a plan code. They said they could not find the plan code. Note also this was the first listing closest to me and I can readily assign this practice as my primary dentist. They were a dismissive. I would not recommend seeking an assignment as primary care dentist if you are under DeltaCare USA. read more

In all honesty, I'm a nervous wreck with it comes to dentists. It's really been years since I've been to one and I don't think I'll ever stop being so nervous. I came to this dental office to get my tooth checked out because I thought it was cracked but it's just a little bruise. The receptionist, assistants, and doctor were all so amazing to me! Although I was still quite nervous, they made me feel so at home and were so patient and caring with me! I'll definitely be back here for my cleanings as well as for when I decide to get braces! This place is great! It's probably the first time I feel totally comfortable and at ease at a dentist's chair. Dr. Delfin Tio is great and is even better with younger childrren. My kids do not have any reservation when it is time to have their teeth checked. Dr. Tio is very thorough and will answer any questions you have patiently until you are satisfied. Looking in from the outside, my boyfriend is a patient there through his HMO insurance & I can tell you that I currently work in a very much respected dental office (we have 5 stars on Yelp with over 40 reviews) & we really care for our patients to the point that it upsets me when I see other patients get the run around. & in case you're wondering, we do not accept HMO that is the reason why my significant other goes where they do accept it. MY POINT IS.... IF YOU HAVE AN HMO INSURANCE & have an extensive amount of dental work LOOK INTO YOUR BENEFITS & IF YOUR ARE LUCKY NOT TO have an OUT OF POCKET COST (Co-PAY) IT WILL TAKE U MONTHS TO GET the required dental work done, even if it's for cavities. IT SEEMS LIKE THEY WANT YOU TO WAIT IT OUT SO IT EVENTUALLY BECOMES A ROOT CANAL!!!! Its ridiculous that FOR SOME REASON by boyfriend getting his scheduled appointments MOVED BACK, NOT JUST A DAY OR WEEK BUT WELL AT THE END OF THE NEXT MONTH, then it happens again!!!! IT took for my boyfriend to go in on a EMERGENCY UNSCHEDULED appointment ON THE EXACT DAY of HIS ORIGINAL but for SOME REASON CANCELED by the office & then re-scheduled for the END OF JANUARY APPOINTMENT due to pain on this molar & when he went in right at 9am, he asked if he could be seen due to pain, she just said " OF COURSE, WE"RE NOT BUSY""" WHY THEN did they reschedule? Plain & simple, I believe the payout is NOT SUFFICIENT FOR THE DR so he rather not bother scheduling an HMO patient when the appt can go to a PPO patient, which pay rates are much much bigger for the dentist read more

I needed a root canal and had a very poor experience. I have "curved roots" and understand that my procedure was particularly difficult. In the past the office has referred difficult root canals to a specialist, and I really wish they had. The dentist was clearly frustrated with my tooth and his assistants. I was told that because of the area that my tooth was in that I could not have very much dental anesthesia. (I finished my procedure at another office where they told me that it was not an issue) This made my root canal unnecessarily more painful as the dentist repeatedly stuck files into my tooth and complained about not being able to reach my roots. It was very unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. The dentist even made a comment about his dental assistant being "so, so" That clearly didn't make me feel any better. I have gone to this office since I was a child. The receptionist and dental assistants are very polite, but good customer service is no excuse for incompetence. Yesterday was my last visit to Durfee Dental. I wish I had gone to another office sooner. read more

I see that most of the reviews on here that are actually positive are from over a year ago. This makes me think that something has changed since then. It is no longer the great dental office where you will find staff and dentists that care and are careful with the work that is done to your teeth. I am assuming that the dentist that I got was fairly new, which I understand because everyone has to start their profession somewhere (so that was not the issue). However, I felt that because the dentist was taking a fairly long time molding and grind the filling to the same size as my other teeth, they got tired and didn't care too much about the quality of work toward the end, which I think is unfair if you are the patient.....I honestly I would highly recommend going elsewhere. read more

I got a cleaning and dental exam. the place was clean. the x-ray tech angelica was nice took her time but was fast,made me feel comfortable because I tend to gag. the doctor was fast. I went back just for a check up as my insurance is HMO and they are the closest. I went in and tried to keep a positive mind but from the beginning everything was terrible. My appointment was at 9am, I got there 2 minutes early and the door was locked. When it got to be 9:10am, I finally called just to get someone to unlock the door. The tech was fine when she was taking the xrays but got super rude after talking with Dr Angela. Almost argumentative, it was very awkward. Dr Angela was impatient (again) and honestly kind of aggresive. But I already expected that once I saw that she was going to do the exam. I really didn't think I'd have her after the first time was so terrible. But the one that always puts the cherry on top is the office lady Elvia. Not only is she rude and condescending but she talks so loud and aggressive that people in the waiting can hear all your business. I will never give these people my money again, it's ridiculous how I was treated (again). The one time I did fillings here, the Dr was great. He was patient and made me feel comfortable after explaining my anxiety issues. After requesting the Dr who did my procedure, she simply said "Glendale" no office name or anything. Oh and she added how he didn't like working on me because I was being "difficult". Which with him I wasn't, I said I have anxiety and he said "don't worry I'm very patient and I'll explain everything as I go" which he did, and I was I fine. Even if he felt I was being "difficult", the fact that she added that was very weird and unprofessional. I'm sure I'm not the first or last person to be nervous about the dentist, but they sure know how to make the situation a lot worse. Like, I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out (awake procedure) a few months ago by a specialty office and still feel this place gave me worse experiences. I scheduled my appointment a month ago & because of some complications I felt bad that I didn't show. I am a very busy woman & it was very convenient that the receptionist followed up with me a few weeks later to ask "Do you still need work done" my response was uhmm Yes!? Perfect they scheduled me in asap. I arrived 5 days later to a happy office. I didn't see not one person bored, everybody was doing their job with a smile! My procedure was quick & painless (after the lidocaine of coarse lol) My Dr was very informative & understanding with his knowledge. I recommend this place 100%!! And I usually hate the dentist! Office staff is great and always greet you with a smile. My family has been seeing this office for well over 10 years. Unfortunately, recently I was unable to go in for personal reasons. One of my visits was for a crown. Everything has gone smoothly until now. The crown fell off. I go in to have it re-cement it on a Monday. That exact following Wednesday the crown begins to break into pieces. I go in to have it checked. The Dr checking it claims I bit something so hard that I broke it. Mind you, when I had it re-cement I took it in one piece. I do not chew on the side affected and I was eating soft food as I was afraid to hurt myself in that area that was recently worked on. I voiced my concerns to the Doctor as she rudely walked away. I was told by the office staff that for it to be repaired I have to pay close to $200 dlls or wait for my insurance (which covers 80%) to provide the allowance in the summer 2018 and still pay close to $200 dlls, which obviously does not make sense. My feel is that Durfee Dental is only interested in my co-payment, not interested in keeping a long time customer and it's family and that the Drs easily place the blame on the patient to make a buck or two. read more
