When I contacted two other companies they said that the two items replaced should take no more than 15 mins. Fast forward and we get this bill for $386.93 which included an additional 1 hour labor charge of $198???? The tech was here for an hour working (we have cameras that can confirm) then we saw him sitting in our garage on his cell phone, supposedly writing up a report. We feel this is overcharge of $198.00 and should be refunded otherwise their $90 *Special* is false advertising! Red's used to be a great AC company when the original owner was running the company and he was an honest and reputable person. The quality of his workmanship was what made him the 'go to company' for AC maintenance. He had a great reputation and everyone trusted his workmanship. However, when he retired and passed on the business it has changed and it's no longer about integrity and good customer service! I will no longer use them for any AC maintenance and would not recommend them!

That same "other company" also tried to take advantage of my mother and so we called Express Air for a second opinion. It turns out the other company switched some wires around during a maintenance call and then tried to charge my mother thousands of dollars for a new unit when all she needed was to have two wires switched back the correct way. These two young men had gone above and beyond to fix the problems that I knew were there. Each task they walked me through what was wrong and how it needed to be fixed. Once Juan got into the job, he realized that the work wasn't going to be nearly as extensive as originally thought. Rather than simply proceeding with the original estimate, Juan took the initiative to talk with his boss and let him know that the job was going to be less extensive. Because of that, they reduced the price by almost half! That kind of honesty and integrity is hard to find these days. Many companies could have easily gone ahead with the original estimate and charged for work that wasn't necessary, but Juan and Ace Air Conditioning did the right thing. I'm an aircraft mechanic, so while I know my way around mechanical systems, I'm not very knowledgeable about HVAC.
