I completely understand why anyone would try to avoid the doctor, but the frustration over the years just got to be too much. A family friend recommended Ascent, so we figured we'd give it a try. First of all, the office was easy to find, with convenient parking right outside - SO important in the winter in Cleveland. The office itself was surprisingly nice! Warm and welcoming (with coffee - also important), not too sterile like some doctors' offices or hospitals, with a pretty interesting vintage hearing aid collection right in the waiting room (I appreciated this while waiting for my mom toward the end). It's pretty obvious that the business is passionate about what they do. There was barely a wait before Chris (the audiologist) came out - then again, we went over the holidays, so I'm not sure what the wait is like during a busier time of year. It was just nice not to have to wait for a long time like other doctors' appointments. He was so friendly and warm. My mom was pretty anxious on the way there, but he definitely made her feel comfortable, joking with her and making conversation. I went back with my mom and sat in on parts of the hearing test. I can't comment on any of the equipment, but it looked pretty high-tech. Plus, the office was very clean... and smelled good even? Chris walked my mom through every procedure and test, and explained everything to make sure she understood (which is quite the challenge, actually). He definitely knows what he is talking about! After the testing, he explained her results to us in the same friendly, comfortable manner, and really took the time to answer all of our questions, and didn't make us feel like idiots. He gave my mom a lot of options for hearing aids (she obviously needs them) and discussed pricing but was definitely not pushy in any way. I was really surprised - there is some amazing technology out there now for hearing aids!! But it was clear that he wanted what was best for her (hearing-wise and financially), and he didn't make us feel bad at all when we asked about cheaper options. He was so patient with us and explained the pros and cons of each option fully. When we chose a pair that was in our price range, he spent time working with my mom to make sure it was programmed correctly to her ears specifically. We left with a pair of hearing aids (HOORAH!! but I honestly can't remember which ones she chose), and we made an appointment for 2 weeks out so that he could check to see if they needed any adjustments. He made very clear that he would be available to check in and fine-tune anything in the future, just to make the hearing aids are working the best they can for my mom. All in all, a huge victory for my family. And we are SO glad that we chose Ascent - I can see why it's starting to build a great reputation! I would honestly recommend this to anyone looking to get their ears checked (or a loved one), especially if there's some anxiety or denial. Chris is such a sweetheart and so easy to work with. They rotate, so they are not all there all the time, but it is still pretty easy to be seen when needed and to book well-checks too! The "sick" waiting room is seperated from the "well" waiting room. There are book shelves in both rooms and a large fish tank in the "sick" waiting room. Both rooms are very large and both are clean and neat. The bathroom is very clean as well. They just recently expanded and added another Nurse Practitioner for the easy things. They have weekend hours as well. I've always had friendly and courteous service. Our pediatrician of choice has become one of the family!! LOVE IT HERE!!!!

I'm…read morenot from the area so I called around and was advised to take her to Urgent Care at Akron's Children's Hospital of Hudson. We arrived at 2:15 and were immediately greeted by the front desk staff and checked in. After a painless checkin process we were called back about five minutes later. She and I were escorted to a room by the nurse and not even ten minutes later the doctor comes in. I could not believe how quickly it was all going. The doc was so sweet and took the time to talk to us. You could tell she was one of the good ones. In the end The diagnoses was an ear infection. She prescribed her an antibiotic and we went on our merry way all within 20-30 minutes. I can't praise them enough on how they treated my sicky girl and me.

He has been very helpful and patient with me and my questions on the Beltone Hearing Aids that I have had for about a year. His Office Manager, Kelly has been very friendly and welcoming as well as efficient. In my opinion, they have done more than I asked for in helping me keep my hearing and my hearing aids working and updated the special technical options on these amazing computers in my ears. Amy said I should buy a boot from Amazon and wear it for 4 weeks. I was told to come back if it didn't feel better. After the 4 weeks of hobbling around on the boot, I removed the boot and the pain was still there and felt worse. I then went to Crystal Clinic Quik Care and more x-rays were done and the provider said that my ankle was never fractured that I have arthritis in my foot. My x-rays from Stow Kent Family Practice were never sent to a radiologist only read by Amy and Dr. Holmer. A radiologist would have known that there wasn't a fracture. I then filed a grievance with my insurance company for the misdiagnosis, Stow Kent Family Practice retaliated by dropping me from their practice due to "irreconcilable differences". I got no apology or explanation.
