I recently got surgery on my septum and sinuses by Dr Gaugler. Now I will warn you he does tend to…read morerun behind on occasion, but it is just because he is very through. I had two appointments with him before my surgery and he did a camera up my nose along with a CT scan of my sinuses. I had previously gotten surgery on my deviated septum in July of 2017 and wasn't exactly thrilled will the results of the procedure done at the Cleveland Clinic. After the procedure at the Cleveland Clinic I could still on breathe out of the right side of my nose, somewhat better just not ideal. The doctor I had at the Cleveland Clinic never did a ct scan on my sinuses or put the camera up my nose. He basically looked up my nose and was like you need surgery. Michael Gaugler is one of the best doctors and a great surgeon. Though I only had my procedure yesterday's it's clear there is a night and day difference between some doctors. He also cleaned out my sinuses behind my cheeks and eyes, which from his indication was not done during my previous procedure at the CC. I'm very pleased Thanks again Dr. Gaugler.

Probably the best ENT, I've ever seen…read more The staff was spectacular and the waiting room was clean. Despite the fact the waiting room was packed, we didn't wait long. The doctor we saw was awesome, very friendly and asked question after question and explained to us what was actually going on with my ears. He also gave me an option. Which lets face it, not many doctors do these days. We were in and out of there in 45 minutes. It was super easy to schedule a follow up and the parking was superb. I'd highly recommend this place if you're in search of an ENT

Disclaimer: I only review businesses I feel very strongly about, so this will be a detailed review…read more Finally took my mom the other day to get her hearing checked, despite lots of excuses about how her hearing is "perfect"... I completely understand why anyone would try to avoid the doctor, but the frustration over the years just got to be too much. A family friend recommended Ascent, so we figured we'd give it a try. First of all, the office was easy to find, with convenient parking right outside - SO important in the winter in Cleveland. The office itself was surprisingly nice! Warm and welcoming (with coffee - also important), not too sterile like some doctors' offices or hospitals, with a pretty interesting vintage hearing aid collection right in the waiting room (I appreciated this while waiting for my mom toward the end). It's pretty obvious that the business is passionate about what they do. There was barely a wait before Chris (the audiologist) came out - then again, we went over the holidays, so I'm not sure what the wait is like during a busier time of year. It was just nice not to have to wait for a long time like other doctors' appointments. He was so friendly and warm. My mom was pretty anxious on the way there, but he definitely made her feel comfortable, joking with her and making conversation. I went back with my mom and sat in on parts of the hearing test. I can't comment on any of the equipment, but it looked pretty high-tech. Plus, the office was very clean... and smelled good even? Chris walked my mom through every procedure and test, and explained everything to make sure she understood (which is quite the challenge, actually). He definitely knows what he is talking about! After the testing, he explained her results to us in the same friendly, comfortable manner, and really took the time to answer all of our questions, and didn't make us feel like idiots. He gave my mom a lot of options for hearing aids (she obviously needs them) and discussed pricing but was definitely not pushy in any way. I was really surprised - there is some amazing technology out there now for hearing aids!! But it was clear that he wanted what was best for her (hearing-wise and financially), and he didn't make us feel bad at all when we asked about cheaper options. He was so patient with us and explained the pros and cons of each option fully. When we chose a pair that was in our price range, he spent time working with my mom to make sure it was programmed correctly to her ears specifically. We left with a pair of hearing aids (HOORAH!! but I honestly can't remember which ones she chose), and we made an appointment for 2 weeks out so that he could check to see if they needed any adjustments. He made very clear that he would be available to check in and fine-tune anything in the future, just to make the hearing aids are working the best they can for my mom. All in all, a huge victory for my family. And we are SO glad that we chose Ascent - I can see why it's starting to build a great reputation! I would honestly recommend this to anyone looking to get their ears checked (or a loved one), especially if there's some anxiety or denial. Chris is such a sweetheart and so easy to work with. He really makes the whole experience educational, and dare I say it, enjoyable.
