But lately, they've been modernizing and expanding -- and unfortunately, the prices have been expanding right along with it. The perfect example is their store-made roast beef. Just this summer it was $6.99 a pound, and now it's jumped to $9.99 a pound -- a 42.9% increase. That roast beef was the one door-buster item that kept me coming back. I was in their store every other day, picking up two pounds at a time. But now that it's become a popular product, they seem to feel the need to gouge the customer. It's disheartening. They've always run on the higher side for pricing, but at least that roast beef balanced things out. With that gone, there's just no incentive left. Compare it to Cattleman's Market in Center Line, where New York strip steaks run about $7.99 a pound versus nearly $14 here. Lunch meat is also considerably cheaper at Cattleman's. It's disappointing to watch a place I once looked forward to visiting turn into just another overpriced stop. They can keep their roast beef -- I'll take my business elsewhere.

On the side they have a room FILLED with meat! We always get the beef and it is the BEST quality beef there is and affordable. The price is comparable to the store. You can buy a pound for around $6-7. It is super fresh too. We actually got chicken breast a few times. We want to try their ribs as well. They also sell milk, eggs, cheese, and more. They also allow you to call ahead for big orders. If you own a freezer chest I highly suggest buying $50 worth of food because they have a $5 off $50 coupon on the website. We buy the beef and then freeze it and it lasts 6-7 weeks. It's basically an amazing way to get a package for free. The customer service is amazing. The parking gets full fast, but a lot of people walk in quickly and leave pretty fast. We have never had any issues with quality or taste. We can taste the difference in the beef. But, Stahl's has high quality meats and baked goods in abundance, and all for a very reasonable price. If you have the feeling that you walked into a country store from the 1940s, then you're only half wrong. Everything was professional, courteous, and respectful. Stahl's isn't just selling great foods for a great price. They are giving me hope for the future of humanity. Everybody should be like this.
