Had them come to look at my shower that's not often used - the diverter needed to be replaced and quoted me $800. This did not sound right - so I looked into the part myself while they were there to educate myself. Part is less than $100 and they tried to rip me off. I had another company do it for $95 part and $195 labor. What on earth. If I wasn't informed I would have paid an extra $510!! Talk about trying to take advantage. read more

Our heating stopped working and my husband called Dustin's- never used the company before. After a $267 "consult fee" (not told ahead of time on the phone call) we were told we needed a $1500 motor on the heating unit. I could not believe it and called another company- $95 fee and one dirty sensor later we had fully working heating system. Would never call this company again. read more

I saved around $1,500 dollars on an HVAC repair by NOT using Dustin's Mechanical! In 2016 he misdiagnosed a problem with my system which delayed me by a full year from addressing the root cause (another issue / concern entirely!). I secured three quotes to repair this issue, and Dustin's was literally 2x as much as the best quotes. Moreover, his quote completely lacked transparency. He did not price out anything, he just gives you a number. The bill he gave me the time he put a band-aid fix on my unit was extremely terse. You cannot actually figure out what you are being charged for because there are very few line items. So while his rate may be $105 per hour, if he spends 2 hours at your house, you could somehow wind up with a $600 bill and very little explanation of where the $400 difference came from. Seriously! Does electrical tape cost that much? Finally, yes, he did not identify the root cause of a problem I was having, so his fix only lasted a few months, although he did agree to credit me for future work. He would take the money I spent in year 1 and apply it to the year 2 root cause fix. However, his estimate was outrageously high! Was he inflating it to avoid taking a hit via the year 1 credit while still saving face? This is really shady! I would not have used his services if that were the case! In fact in year 2, since his estimate was so outrageous, even with the credit, his estimate was literally 2x his competitors. So, I went with someone else. Do not call in Dustin without doing your own homework, asking for line-item quotes, and calling in at least two other estimates! You may just save yourself $1,500! read more
