We finally tried Dutch Bros Coffee, and our only regret is not trying it sooner. We ordered on the app in advance and picked it up. The barista was friendly, our drinks were ready on time, and they were really good! We both ordered lattes (half sweetened: one hot and one cold) and look forward to returning to try additional menu items. J-Town has experienced a covfefe explosion in the last couple years with at least 3 new stand-alone coffee placing coming to town, with Dutch Bros being the most recent. I've visited this Dutch Bros Coffee location about a few times since it opened and I'm still on the fence. I like that you can order via the app or via a person instead of through a speakers. It's always nice to be able to interact with a live person. It beats talking to a disembodied voice on a speaker. App ordering is great for convenience. I do love the walk-up window, which a number of stand-alone coffee places don't have, as well as covered, shaded area to wait The menu at Dutch Bros. is extensive, with a seemingly endless variety of add-ins and toppers. Their app is an easy way of keeping track of loyalty points. The coffee is pretty good. I tend to judge a coffee place by how well their iced vanilla latte is, and theirs is very good. If you're looking for a snack they also have muffin tops to accompany your beverage. The staff that I've encountered have been great. I happened to stop by one day to find that the power was out after I had already ordered/paid via the app. I was told that the order would cancel and I'd get a refund in the next day or so. Sure enough, that was the case *and* they gave me a free drink to make up for it. I really like just about everything Dutch Bros with the exception of the "merge here to get your drink at the window" concept. Not a fan. I get the plan, people move ahead from alternating lanes to form one line at the window....if people play the game. 3 out of 5 times I've visited the person on the left assumes they've got the 'right of way' and proceed when logically the second lane should have gone. (don't get me started on this concept as it relates to a certain restaurant with golden arches). The location of this Dutch Bros doesn't do it any favors, should you need to turn left on to Taylorsville Rd. Yes, it's a prime location, but that left turn. Ouch. All this talk of coffee makes me want to visit Dutch Bros right now. read more

Actually tried Dutch Bros for the first time a few weeks ago and I was really impressed! They had some awesome holiday options. I got a cold brew with egg nog cold foam. It was the perfect winter treat! The drive thru line was speedy and efficient even on a Saturday morning. I'll definitely be adding this into the rotation for my morning coffee. read more

The format is drive thru only or the walk-up window. Kinda similar to 7 Brew and Scooter's with how small the buildings are. But there are a handful of staff taking orders. All of them were nice and friendly. Even made small talk. They didn't seem stressed despite the long line wrapped around the building. One of the workers told us that it's been like that since they opened. Busy from morning through mid afternoon every single day. I got an iced vanilla latte while my sister got the chocolate macadamia iced latte. I didn't remember to ask about sizes. The default looks like a large? Could be their medium? (We're all traumatized by Starbucks. Their venti is a medium at many coffee shops.) The coffee is light. Not super sweet either which was perfect. The two lanes converged into one right before the pickup window which did create kind of a slow down. Not sure if they'll change this to make it more efficient. I'd come back if I'm in the area. I went to Half Price books for some of their sales for 4th of July. Otherwise, I do hope they get more locations as this is a bit out of the way for me. read more

After having tried Dutch Bros in Oregon several years ago, and weathered various mediocre drive thru coffee shops opening all over Louisville since, as the trends crawl eastward, I was thrilled to finally get Dutch bros in Louisville. It is always unfair when Lexington gets something first. As soon as I was able, I ran to this location. Per my usual, I got completely overwhelmed by the menu and ordered way outside my usual wheelhouse. It was tasty, but I'll tweak my order next time. But there will be a next time, and soon! I first tried this in Utah and was amazed by their customer service and offering of drink flavors. They now have it in Louisville and Lexington which Iam most excited about. They usually have freebies monthly per each drink purchase and the baristas are always friendly. I often get their matcha or their energy drinks. I love how they have boba toppings and cream foams for add ons. Also, you all have to try their lemon poppy seed muffin top. read more

This was my first time at a Dutch Bros, and I was told one of the best drinks there was a Strawberry Horchata Chai with oat milk. I added espresso because what is the point of a drink like this without more caffeine?? Oh I also asked for it to be half sweet and I was thankful I did because even with that request the drink was very sugary to me and it took me the rest of the day to finish it. (also, the medium is quite a large cup, so be aware of that too!) The drink was fine, the service was very prompt and pleasant, there is no inside, its a tiny building that only services drive thru or walk up. Oh but for all of you Olds out there like me, there is no simple, plain hot coffee (or if there is, I couldnt find it on the online menu). You can do an americano, a latte, or something called "hot protein coffee" which is literally just a latte with "protein milk". It is 100% geared toward the young Frappucino crowd, which is fine, I will keep searching for a drink that works for me! read more

I've been waiting for this location to open from the moment I heard about it!! I'd never been to a Dutch Bros before but I'd seen them on social media and couldn't believe we were finally getting one. I came around noon today and I immediately noticed while they were busy, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be (presumably because it was a week day). I had no clue before I got there that they had a walk up window or order ahead which is great to know for next time!! I was a little confused about the lane situation as I couldn't tell if they had another one, but once I finally got up far enough I noticed that it was just hidden by the amount of cars in the first lane. The guy who took my order was pretty nice!! I believe he was a trainer and if not he was very good at his job already. Being it was my first time, he was incredibly helpful with guiding me through the menu and answering any of the questions I had. At the end of our transaction, he even offered me stickers which was so nice and unexpected !! It did take a while for me to get up to the front, but I understand that they just opened and are still training so I didn't care too much. The only complaint I do have is the merging of both lanes. The main backup of the line was at the merging point of both lanes because many cars from lane 2 weren't able to merge due to people being inconsiderate in lane 1, which is hardly Dutch Bros fault. They can only do so much to control their customers, so I don't blame them for that. Overall, the drinks were pretty good. I had their new Firecracker Rebel blended and then a sparkling water with pomegranate, almond, and orange. The Rebel was pretty good, but the energy was incredibly reminiscent of Scooters energy drinks which they make with Red Bull. It was definitely a lot. The energy flavor was strong, but not enough to make the drink taste nasty. It also had cold foam and blue razz pop rocks on top, which was a nice touch to the red, white, and blue vibes they were going for. The sparkling water was okay. They definitely don't use as much flavor as other similar chains like 7brew, but I didn't mind cause I usually like plain sparkling water. The only reason I say it was "okay" is because if I'm paying a certain amount for a drink, I'd like it to taste pretty good instead of just like normal sparkling water, but maybe that's just me!! Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I'm not sure I'll come nearly as often as they're about a 25 minute drive from me, but they are a nice little treat if you're out that way. The staff ROCKS! They are pumped you are there and the drinks are so delicious! Tons of flavor, the sizes are on point and they are priced fairly. We got an iced americano, the carmelized something and the mudslide with the cold foam on top. WOW! Everything was great!!!! Plus they didn't take long.
