Dutch Bros opened December 6th just down the street, and I finally had a wonderful 1st and helpful service at the drive-thru, on NYE @ 4:00 pm. Ordered with a guy standing 'outside the box', ordered and changed from cold to hot within the next moment and that was no problem. My hot mocha was so smooth, creamy and I even enjoyed it after 15 minutes. My daughter let me try her mango smoothie and it was the best one ever! There was no-inside-the building-option, other than ordering it at the other window and enjoying it at a small table in the front. I have lived in The Netherlands for 25 years, and I love how I can 'stay Dutch' (like the print on the coffee cup) and find these cute windmills prints everywhere. My sister who I met up there, let me try her Rebel (energy) drink, that apparently had a $4 deal going on. I'm now curious to what else they have to offer. Seeing the menu, I still have plenty to explore! Can't wait!

In addition, I do not have a Haraz Coffee House near me, so when I am near one of their locations, I make it a point to pop in. I love Haraz. I love the ambience. I love the coffee. I love the pastry selection. I love the service. The consistency I've experienced from location to location is top-notch. The cleanliness here is impeccable, too. That bears mentioning. My go-to is the Haraz Latte. Iced. While this could never be my every day coffee, it is something I really enjoy and treat myself to when I'm able to go to a Haraz. As someone who doesn't proclaim to like cheesecake, their Biscoff cheesecake is the exception. Maybe it's a blessing that one isn't close by and I can only indulge every now and then. If you want a break from your regular coffee, give Haraz a shot. Especially when the summer heat kicks in - the iced coffee + cardamom is pretty great. Also, they seem to have a high standard for hiring. The staff is always great. Please tip generously ;)

Open later than most coffee shops, especially in this deserted part of town. Varied drink menu, both caffeinated and not caffeinated, including refreshers. Nice creative variety of desserts (including a Biscoff cake!) and a kolaches case. At one point the brought some hot baked dessert (looked like a whole coffee cake) out the oven and it smelled like heaven. The bad: Nothing vegan or healthy, not even pre-made cold sandwiches or packaged salads. If you are a little peckish for a healthy snack, this is not the place. The coffees: They have all the regular espresso drinks, and also Turkish coffee and of course Yemeni, their specialty. I had heard great things about Yemeni coffee and was exciting to try it. My first drink, a traditional coffee drink called Jubani ($6) contained coffee but was watery like a tea. It had also ginger and cinnamon. I was not expecting it to be like a tea. I immediately told the cashier I didn't like the drink and would like just an Americano, double shot espresso. I was charged $9 for a 12 oz cup. No cream or sugar, no added flavorings. If I were in charge I wouldn't have charged for this second drink, since it comes at almost zero cost to them and would show good faith and ensure repeat business. Disappointingly, the Americano was also watery and sort of "lemony", but I still drank half while sitting with my friend. I'll say that my friend had some sort of an iced latte that she enjoyed. I might try a second visit and order a Turkish coffee, but I will make sure to have had a full meal before.

I loved the various seating arrangements. There were so many different styles, you had your choice. Also, I loved that the color scheme was mostly white with drops of color. I loved the green sofa, it's a really beautiful place. I ordered the Pecan Sunrise, and I sure taste the orange bourbon, which is a good thing. The girl at the counter swayed me in that direction, and I'm happy she did. I ordered a buttery pastry that melted my taste buds. It was the perfect light, fluffy pastry, very easy to pull apart, revealing a moist, buttery inside. Not to mention a guitarist was there performing sweet melodies. Also, they have a nice, shaded patio with beautiful items decorating the side of the building and a huge, gorgeous mural. It's honestly the place to be on a Saturday at noon, kicking off the day.

I wanted to try a new coffee shop without driving too far out of the way, and I saw good things on Yelp and beyond on West Pecan, so I decided I'd give it a shot. The spot is cute, just right on the outskirts of downtown Pflugerville. There's a small parking lot, but plenty of additional street parking nearby. There's a cozy patio out front and a decent amount of seating inside, but West Pecan was hopping around 12:30 when I walked in. This led to me getting one of the last few seats on a cozy chair that remained. I heard their Pecan Sunrise was the best thing they had, so I asked the very friendly barista working what the deal was. She said it was an oat-milk-based latte with pecan milk, sweet bourbon, and orange zest. She recommended it iced, so I got it iced. It wasn't long at all until my drink was ready. I enjoyed it inside while reading and thought it was pretty alright. None of the flavors personally stuck out to me, but I thought it was quite drinkable. It was supposed to be Old Fashioned-esque, but it just tasted like a coffee with a moody undertone. Maybe it's more pronounced hot. West Pecan has a great atmosphere with solid music on their speakers and a great team behind the bar, burning through the Sunday afternoon crowd's never-ending orders. I had a nice time reading there, and I'll be back to give them another shot! RIYL: A classic coffee shop in the heart of Pflugerville
