Not sure what all the fuss is about but, I suppose it's an ok cup of joe. I'm referring to a hot cup of black coffee here FYI. Why four stars you ask? The staff is always super friendly and the drive through is super convenient. That's really the main benefit of this place. Like I mentioned above, the coffee is just ok. It's a regional chain and I can't understand for the life of me why they don't have small nibbles too. Sonoma's Dutch Bros is in a repurposed gas station/mini-mart. Unlike the Napa location, it's got shaded outdoor seating... and it's got beautiful views of Sonoma Mountain to the west&the Mayacamas range to the East. It's right off the Sonoma Plaza. Even on a weekend, it's not as chaotic as the nearby Starbucks and Peet's. Unfortunately, their parking area isn't well-marked, but they have plenty of parallel parking along Highway 12. The service is friendly&fast. They make a delicious 911 that blends their signature Irish creme (what would life be like without Irish creme?) with six shots of espresso. It's perfect over ice, especially on a sweltering afternoon. Pleasant little place. read more

I came here one early morning hours to satisfy my coffee fix. Because this was my first time here, I didn't know what was popular or a good drink for me. The lady at the window was nice enough to give me a description of their most popular drinks and what would keep me up throughout most of the day. She spoke in a happy and enthusiastic manner which made me really appreciate the customer service of this location. Because of that, I have been a fan of Dutch Bros ever since. As for the drinks itself, they're really tasty and will keep you up! I ordered the Annihilator which was a great choice. The chocolate macadamia in the drink isn't too overwhelming and is blended just right with the other flavors. It's probably my favorite drink so far. The location is built like a coffee stop where you drive to the window to order your drink. I came here in the morning and the line wasn't too long which was great. This is my new favorite coffee stop in the area. I will be coming back soon to check out the other delicious drinks. I already have my stamp card and can't wait for my free 10th drink! read more

First timers at Dutch Bros. Always seeing posts from friends about Dutch Bros, but it's always somewhere in Sacramento though. I'm not a regular coffee drinker, but I like to try tasty drinks and compare services and taste. We happen to be on our way home from the vineyards at 6ish or so and passed this standalone spot that caught my eyes. It was already dark but when I saw "Dutch Brothers Coffee" I had to say something about making a quick stop and trying it out. Awesome guy at the window Ryan made our first time experience memorable and thankful. I had the Red Velvet Mocha, (iced). Roasty and smooth goodness. I forgot what my bf got but he was in heaven. We're both sensitive to caffeine and mentioned that to Ryan, he was very helpful, friendly, down to earth and above all he comped our drinks!!! We weren't expecting such thoughtful gesture, nowadays it's a shock when someone does something nice just because. We drove off with a smile in our hearts and a tasty drink for our long drive home. It was my husband and I's first time at Dutch Bros and Brett was really kind. He talked to us like we were his long time friends and gave us our coffee for free since it was our first time! So all you fans of chocolate chips, the chocolate chip muffin top cookie is a yummy addition to your cup of coffee. I knew (Just knew!) that my heartthrob Chrome will cap off the Triple Crown with a V. 4:00PST, I sat with my hands in my face full of tears. My lovely boyfriend let me weep for what felt like 10 hours, but in reality was just 10 minutes. He brings me here. Delicious and strong coffee drinks. Uggg... extremely disappointed... this is the closest coffee place to my house, right around the corner, and I used to come here sometimes when it was Hot Shots... when it was Hot Shots they had a nice selection of doughnuts, pastries, etc.. and the coffee was good to boot. Went there for the first time this morning... so sad.. my wife asked what pastries they have and he started naming them... then just brought over a basket of prepackaged, Seattles best, preservative filled nastiness... could get a better pastry in Coach seating on a flight. I finally tried this place. I would have to say that I really like it a lot. For me and my own personal experience, it's right in between Sbux and Pete's. Pete's is too strong for me and Sbux is too sweet. The customer service is great, they are a little too chipper but, it's a way to secure folks as customer because of that, and I appreciate it. We headed over to Dutch Bros. Coffee after dinner for some dessert coffee. We couldn't have been happier with the decision. The small coffee shop offers both drive-thru service and walk up service. The walk up window was open and it was like a party in there. Lights flashing, music playing, then Hanah comes to the window, and with the biggest smile and personality, took our order. I ordered a large white chocolate mocha, hot and with whipped cream. The coffee is delicious and exactly what I wanted. Because this was our first time Hanah informed us our coffees were on the house. The coffee was great and the service is truly amazing. read more

I visited the drive thru for this Sonoma location around 5:00 pm on a Tuesday. The young lady working the window and her two female co workers were extremely friendly and talkative. We talked about where we were from and how nice the weather was. Her co worker noticed my silver jewelry and we compared rings. :-) I told them I've only heard rave reviews about the Sacramento area locations from my sister. Since it was my very first visit to Dutch Bros. they helped me choose the Caramelizer - small, decaf, soy milk. On top of that, they said it was on the house since I've never tried their coffee. I wasn't expecting that at all. I'm not the ungrateful not selfish type, so I placed $ in their tip jar for them to split. THAT surprised them. After thanking me with big smiles on their faces, they wished me a safe drive home. I never felt rushed during my drive through visit. Unfortunately if there were cars behind me, I never noticed since I was enjoying the conversation. I saw it as a great visit leaving everyone happy. Okay, I've seen Dutch Bros. supply trucks (windmill with tulips) on the highway but never actually been to a retail location. While in Sonoma for business, I saw and stopped in for my first experience. This place is different from SB's & Peet's because... The Sonoma Dutch Bros. location on Broadway is a walk up window or drive-thru. Unique. You can see from the outside-in exactly what the employees are up to and doing, like a fishbowl. Interesting. Since I was in a hurry, I decided to use the drive-thru. As I saw the car ahead of me being assisted, I saw the causal and easy-going interaction between the two employees and the customers in the vehicle in front of me. While I couldn't make out the conversation, it seemed as if those in the car may have been regulars to this Dutch Bros. Okay, that's a good sign. What I wasn't expecting as I drove up was that is how the same employees greeted and treated me when it was me being helped. Remember, I'm an out of towner and don't know anyone here. Pleasant surprise for the 5-star level of customer service. The employees were in the typical younger age group of what you'd expect in a coffee place, still going through school. Usually that generation isn't known for excellent customer service, but that's not the case with this Dutch Bros. location. Ryan & Tommy greeted me, took my order, and when they learned it was my first time said that my order was on the house. Wow! Since it was in the evening and I still had a long drive home ahead of me, I opted for their version of an energy drink. Forget Red Bull, Monster, and the others, you've got to try the Blue Rebel. I was expecting a cold can to just be handed to me, instead they asked if I wanted it iced or blended. What? I asked for a recommendation and was told blended with an added flavoring of my choice is the way to go. So I ventured with their starburst strawberry. Outcome? It was delicious and refreshing without the usual aftertaste expected of energy drinks. I'm glad for my quick stop and first time visit. Ryan & Tommy earned a new regular to Dutch Bros. with their service. The Blue Rebel blended was beyond my expectation and clinched the deal. Now, I'll keep an eye out for this chain as I travel to other towns. read more

These guys are awesome. I pulled in after seeing a friend in the Sonoma Valley Hospital. I walked up (seems most people want to do the drive through) and was met by a super cheerful kid (I can say that now that I'm mid forties) who explained their brews. I told him I didn't want anything too sweet but was interested in their Irish Cream brew. He said no problem, they could make it lighter. I agreed and a few minutes later was presented with what was undoubtedly one of the most delicious coffee drinks I've had. What's more, they wouldn't even take my money! I don't know why, I can certainly afford a coffee, but they would not let me pay. They said it was on them. I suppose it might be because in their friendly demeanor they asked if I had been there and when I told them I was visiting a friend in the hospital they made it on the house, but it was a pleasant surprise to say the least. I didn't think anyone did things like that anymore, so they have won a new fan and I would highly recommend Dutch Bros to anyone. read more

So happy that Dutch Bros finally arrived in Sonoma! The small lapse of time without a coffee shop in Sonoma was WELL worth the wait - their coffee is always on point. Being from Portland, OR originally (and DB originating in Oregon), I was able to expect exceptional customer service, stellar coffee and killer experience that Dutch Bros offers. Their Sonoma stand goes above and beyond all of my previous expectations. They make each cup of coffee, or rebel energy drink or smoothie with the utmost expertise and care. The stand is always rockin' to fun music and the employee's energetic spirits radiate onto the customers. Dutch Bros coffee drinks are priced very reasonably! When I feel like trying a new drink, the employee always asks me to taste the drink to make sure that he/she made it the way that I had expected. The other day, I brought a friend with me who had not yet ventured into the world of Dutch Bros and the employee gave my friend her drink for free - talk about good customer service (and backing up their confidence in their drinks!)
