I had a great experience here. My room was right in front of where I had parked and it was…read moredownstairs and I can't complain about that. I had one of those adjoining door type of situations not too sure with the formal name of that is called but where the parents could be in one room and the kiddos can be in another the only issue with that is is that when someone sitting against the wall near that door you can hear the voices but once the TV is on it drowned out the sound. Fortunately for me my neighbors were not that loud all throughout the night. They had more normal tones in regards to their conversation so I didn't have to complain or ask anyone to turn down the volume or the noise. The king size bed was clean, I had four pillows that were fluffy and although I do not sleep under their blankets/sheets, but I always bring a sheet or something else that I can sleep on top of that. It's just my personal preference. I have never been bitten by bedbugs in any hotel and I must be doing something right. This bed was somewhat firm but not extra firm and I got comfortable sleep as I brought my own 'my pillow' with me as well. The shower/bath tub was nice size and like the additional security of having a hand held rail inside to hold onto as I stepped in. It was super clean ... the whole room as a whole was very clean. I had no issues whatsoever. The air conditioning worked beautifully. The TV had a multiple selection of channels, there was coffee inside the room with the coffee maker,a refrigerator that was clean, there's an ironing board already in their closet with an iron and there's bags that you could use when doing your own laundry. Plenty of towels and lotions and shampoos and different kind of hygiene things one may need all within reach. The check-in was pretty easy and I like the fact that I booked my room on booking.con with no cancellation fee as long as I called before 7 PM but obviously I was there and checked in right. I walked up to the front desk a little after 830pm and was given a room key with the WiFi's info and told that check out was the following day at 11 AM and that they serve breakfast up until 9 AM. Although I slept in - when I got up to get some ice I walked by the breakfast area the smell of the eggs and bacon were filling in the hallways. I looked inside the breakfast area that had a nice station and it's own isolated room - next time I'm gonna have to have that. I was told when I checked in that I could telephone when I was checking out. That didn't work out so well as I called multiple times to the front desk but I didn't feel comfortable just leaving my room key in the room but leaving well before the 11 o'clock hour. So after calling the desk multiple times to no answer I walk up there and there's an older lady behind the desk was standing there looking at something on the computer. Nobody was in the front office so I don't understand why she could not take the time to answer the phone so that I could've checked out via phone and left from there. It's not that big of a deal but it just goes to show that no matter how many times one calls the front desk if they're not busy that same person might do the same thing to someone else. Now this is not a five-star hotel with all of the luxuries and the amenities but I have to say for being right off of Firestone Boulevard, down the street from Portos and all the other goodness that Downey has to offer this is a great hotel to stay in. It's safe, there is ample parking, it's well lit, easy check-in with an easy cancellation when booking on booking.com and I had no issues whatsoever with that. I actually used Trivago and they directed me to booking.com which had the lowest rate!!!! The price was comparable to others in the area if not cheaper. The sooner you book the better rate you get.

I was ready to give this location five stars based on my recent stay for five days…read more The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel does not require an outrageous deposit which, unfortunately, has become so common at hotels. The pool and spa are clean and warm, The cleaning however needs more attention, because I discovered a condom wrapper on the floor next to my bed in my room. This should not have been missed by the cleaning crew as it was lying in plain sight adjacent to the bed. So unfortunately I need to leave only three stars not 5

Stay here at your own risk! We booked several days in advance just for one night stay. We had a…read morelate check-in so I called the hotel and informed them that we would be arriving closer to 1:30 AM. The person that we spoke to was slurring over their words and sounded half asleep. It told us that they would need to charge the card on file before midnight. I told it that that was fine and it charged our card immediately. It told us to dial 500 and let it ring five times and that would allow us entrance into the lobby and we would be given our key for room 211. We arrived at the hotel at 1 AM. We were immediately told that they were sold out and there were no rooms available. We explained to it that we had called in a couple of hours ago and already paid for the booking. We made a few days ago. The thing at the front desk refused to cooperate and immediately started calling us racist names. It was clearly under the influence of some type of drug. It was slurring over its words and could barely keep its eyes open. We recorded the entire encounter. After speaking to another employee the next day, we were offered a refund and when I received the email confirmation of the refund the thing at the front desk from the night before lied and said that we checked in at 11 PM and checked out at 11 AM even though it knows it never gave us the room we paid for. I'll be escalating this to the highest management team available and will not stop until it's fired. AVOID!
