If I could give Value Inn Bellflower ZERO stars, I would! However Yelp only allows a post with at least a one star rating. I booked to stay here for one night on a Saturday because I was attending a friend's birthday party who lived in the neighborhood and did not want to drive home after drinking. From the moment I arrived to check in at 4pm, the man at the front desk was incredibly rude. Rather than a warm welcome, I was met with indifference and attitude, as if my presence was an inconvenience. Any questions I asked were met with curt responses, and it felt like I was being rushed away instead of assisted. When I was charged $100 dollar deposit and I kindly ask them what the rules were of the hotel, the man angrily answered that the rule was no smoking (I am a non-smoker). When I finally was given my room key and headed up to the room , I was accompanied by my sister and her fiancé who came to quickly use the restroom and change for the party we were attending down the street (they were not staying the night). My boyfriend arrived shortly after and as soon as he stepped in the room, two Indian men, who worked in the office (probably also living on the premises) angrily called me yelling! They threatened me and said that" I violated their rules and I needed to check out immediately and they were going to call the cops." I had only been in the hotel room for 20 minutes and although I explained to them that my sister was only there to use the restroom and change, they said they didn't care & that they were going to call the cops. I booked the room on Expedia, and when I came to the front desk to check out, they continued to yell at me for no apparent reason and said that I wasn't going to get a refund. I told him that I didn't care, and they were treating me like a horrible guest, when I was for only 20 minutes total. They were extremely disrespectful & unprofessional. When I told them it was unnecessary for two men to be yelling at me as a woman, they said they didn't care if I was a woman, and that I could go get a man so that they could talk to him exactly the same way they were talking to me! I am surprised that the disrespect they give their customers has kept them to continue staying in business! The people that were in line waiting to check in at the lobby were in disbelief to see how the two men were barking at me & mistreating me. The room itself was mediocre at best, but it was the lack of professionalism and common courtesy from the staff that made my 20 minutes visit truly miserable. I've stayed at budget hotels with better service and friendlier staff. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who expects even the most basic level of hospitality. There are far better options nearby that actually care about their guests. read more

I got what I expected at the Value Inn. I was in LA on short notice and was doing so while trying to control my cost. This is what appears to be an old motel that has had some upgrades. They make up the rooms every day, fresh towels, make the bed and a lite dusting. You get the order right at check in; No cooking, No smoking, No guests. If you're looking or a place this tells you a lot. Personally, I believe the daily "cleaning" is to ensure you're following the rules. The bed was ok, TV had limited channels, the water was nice and hot and the place was clean. I got my monies worth. It's not a 5 star experience, but then, I didn't pay for a 5 start experience. I'd stay here again, heck, it's walking distance to Taco Nazo, that's a plus! read more

Horrible experience. Worst hotel stay in my entire life. We were enticed by the price and whatever good reviews the place got. The unfavorable reviews are far more reflective of the reality we experienced. I tried to check in, but was told I could not, since it was my wife who made the reservation. That is fine, I understand that it's a policy, but the man at the front desk did not have to be rude and disrespectful to me. Perhaps I was frazzled from travelling all day, having been awake for 16 hours already. Perhaps I was in an emotional state as I was in town for my father's funeral. My wife's flight arrived and we finally checked in. The man at the front desk continued with his unpleasant demeanor. He spoke to us condescendingly when he reiterated the hotel policies: "no smoking, no visitors, no parties" as if he was doing us a favor for letting us stay there. Was greeted by a STRONG odor of cleaning products upon opening the door. When I pulled a towel off the shelf, a roach crawled out. When I flushed the toilet, roaches came out of the holes where the water would come out. The over-use of cleaning products left such a strong smell, I could barely breathe. It triggered an asthma attack and I had to take puffs off my inhaler. None of us got a good night's sleep. My family stayed the night, but elected to cancel our reservation in the morning. We attempted to dispute the charge, asking for a refund for the nights we did not stay. We explained in the dispute that we were willing to pay for the one night we did stay there. I feel that is a completely reasonable request. The chargeback was denied, citing that it was a non-refundable reservation. We only stayed 1 out of 5 nights. read more

Stayed here for the convenience since I have family in the area. Knowing that I wasn't going to be spending a lot of time in the room, I just needed a place to rest and shower in the morning, which is what I got. Don't expect any frills here, it's not one of those places. No coffee, no pool, and no breakfast, which also means, no big loud noisy families, so that was a plus. The place was a little noisy because the building is really close to a busy street, but I can sleep through that a lot better than I can sleep through the sound of screaming kids. Also, a big plus that the room had a fridge and walkable to some Mexican food places. read more

Here's the short version: -Room with a strong Marihuana odor -Dirty bed sheets (brown feces looking stains) -Bed Bugs Upon walking inside the room, we were struck by a strong odor of marijuana. More than likely the odor was coming from a vent and/or an adjacent room. We didn't make a big deal- we left the door open and turned on the AC on high. About an hour went by and the odor was still very strong inside the room. My guests and I were starting to get a light headache and my 9 month pregnant sister was starting to cough. We finally decided to advice the front desk about the odor. Front Desk Clerk was courteous and offered to switch us to another room. We grabbed our stuff and was about to walk into the room, when another hotel attendant stopped us and said were supposed to inform them about the odor within 2 hours upon entering the room, that it was too late to switch. They just offered to spray the room the with a deodorizer. It was getting close to 11pm when my guests and I were getting ready to go to bed. As I was undoing the bed, I noticed a brown dried stain on the sheet and had an unpleasant odor. (I've attached a picture). I called the front desk to tell them about the sheet, to my shock he hotel attendant said "we don't have any housekeepers right now, so just remove the sheets". I literally giggled because I thought it was a joke and I reiterated his response to confirm I had understood correctly, to what he repeated to just remove the dirty sheets. I told him that I wasn't going to sleep on top of a mattress without sheets, he said "ok come to the lobby and pick up a clean sheet". I was going back to bed and I noticed the pillows were also dirty. I had just given up by now, I was tired. I got a bath towel and wrapped the pillow that was less stained. The other pillow I put to the side. Are y'all ready for the crazy ending?... I was just falling asleep when my sister who was on the other bed, woke me up and asked me if i was using both pillows, I said just 1. She said can I use the other one, I said yes but the other 1 is really dirty. She turned on the light to check how dirty it really was, when we noticed a bed bug crawling around the pillow. I have a video is this. At 11:40pm we got all our stuff and left. Close to midnight, we had to check into another hotel. Please find another place to stay, in my personal opinion and experience this place is not worth it. read more

STOP!!!! Do NOT ever stay here!!! We checked in a with kids after a very long day just to be greeted with a dirty room. There was blonde hair throughout the bedding including the floor, there was steam in the bathroom and smelt as if someone had just took a shower and there were burnt stains in the bathtub. we asked if we could switch rooms however they were sold out (understandable). So we asked for new bedding, their response and I quote "no because how do we know it's not your hair" mind you we had only been there all of about 3 mins. We're African-American (no blonde hair) the hair found throughout the room was long and blonde hair (not sure how it could've been ours) therefore we checked out and found a better place which I will give a great review. when we ask for a refund we were told not until they go check the room to see if we messed up anything. Hmmm...if they have the energy to go check if we messed up anything why not use the same energy to come up and check the room for all the blonde hair or give us new sheets. read more

We just left this hotel and the owner said we aren't welcomed because we chose not to get cleaning service one day . We ain't coming back either way lol Their version of cleaning is dusting the floors lol I do professional cleaning as a living and let me tell you it's not clean the toilet is not properly cleaned cob webs up in the ceiling and when you turn the light on you can see all the headboard dust, hairs in bathroom sink and showers Also the owner is rude he made cleaning service come in while I was in a towel . Well it's a motel... It does the job and the room is nice overall even with a loud annoying AC, very small bathroom offerings, NO BIBLE, and creaky floors. However nowhere on the website did it say they expected a 150$ downpayment in cash for a $80 room that I already payed for. NOWHERE on the BOOKING site does this notice appear. Very frustrated. Positives: nice new furniture. Cozy bed. Lots of channels on the TV. Negatives: -the a/c didn't hardly work, when it was on it would blow out cool air with like a mist or something that made the room smell like mildew -The fridge worked but had an awful smell of fish in it. -No microwave -No iron or ironing board. (Had to get one from the lobby that was nearly broken) -the front desk helped with everything but was a bit unprofessional. -wifi basically didn't work at all. I hesitate with my stars, but I like other people here- I got service I expected for paying 50 a night. The owners were very nice to us and didn't charge us for our 2 lost key cards. The free on demand was a lifesaver because we were there for a week. The fridge was super cool and kept our stuff non-rancid lol. The wifi is annoying because you have to get a different code for every device. The reason why I am giving it 2 is because I found 2 dead roaches in my bed and 3 days later had bed bug bites ALL OVER. 13 and counting. I have a skin condition so my skin FREAKED and I had an extremely costly visit to the Dr. Office- got stuck with a needle and 4 antibiotics. I wouldn't wish this kind of burning pain on anyone. read more

You really do get what you pay for. We booked a room here because it was cheap, and really close to where we needed to be the next morning. Arrived in the evening and found it to be kind of a shady neighborhood. The office/front desk area had wonderful bulletproof glass between you and the grumpy Indian owners. The room wasn't bad, except for the mildew smell. It had a TV and fridge, but no coffee. The bathroom looked clean. The spot in front of the bathroom sank. As in, if I were to put my whole weight on it I might have fallen through to the first floor. They did provide nice large hand towels ... oh wait ... those are the bath towels. And they are paper thin. They did splurge on the toilet paper! I really didn't know you could buy 1-ply anywhere anymore ... sigh. And the coup de grâce of our stay? They charged for ice. I mean, it's a good place to stay just 1 or 2 nights when you are spending most of the day time traveling. Then we had left overs from dinner and when we got back the fridge didn't work. So we asked the front desk for another one and they said they didn't have any. So we then asked well can we get some money off the room or be compensated for it and they yelled no no refunds take the room as is. This place is terrible. Never staying here again. DO NOT STAY HERE!! We should have slept in my car rather than stepping foot into this dump. We were staying in the area to visit some friends for two nights and they recommended that we stay here because it was the closest thing to their place. Obviously paying $49.99 a night I'm not expecting extra soft towels, pillows ,etc.Of course the motel was old and had a few cosmetic issues inside and out , but that's when I agree with "you get what you pay for". What I am expecting is a SANITARY place to sleep and bathe. When we got to the room, the door was wide opened already,which was odd but easy fix:close the door. The staff made the bed,but the bathroom looked as if the staff was lazy and didn't want to clean it. On top of that as soon as I turned on the shower ANTS come crawling out surrounding the shower head. I ended up putting shampoo on them in attempt to kill the ants. I was even debating if I should go and buy bug spray,but then I thought NO I'm on vacation this is the motel's responsibility. After the bathroom, I lifted the mattress to check for bed bugs and under the mattress was someone's check book/papers from 2012. Is the staff that lazy for three years they can't throw that away? Oh and as for the wifi, it connects and that's it. If you want anything to load just forget about it. So after 4 hours of being there we checked out and checked in somewhere else,BUT they happily charged us for two nights anyways. Another thing : Anyone who has left 5 stars for this dump is probably the owners themselves. You can tell by looking at their profiles seeing that they only reviewed this place. Honesty I tried to stay calm. But I'm sitting In this room writing this note fucking pissed. I came in, and ran the bell a jabillion times and just as I was leaving the "kid" walked in and said " oh I forgot to put up the sign saying I would be back." Lack of attention to detail. Room was dirty and smelly. The bedding wasn't changed and smells like cum. Every hotel I've ever been in contact with has free phone service in the hotel. This one is awful. Honestly. Although wifi, it doesn't help with ordering pizza or getting into contact with family members who are having an emergency which is exactly what I needed to do and why I rented to room. I don't care that they have wifi, if I needed to contact family without a working phone I honestly think a line in the room isn't a hard stretch. For another $9 I could have gotten a much nicer room with a whirlpool in the room a phone, and a illy working kitchen. They don't even have a microwave. Pitiful. this is the worst fucking worse service. Kid is like 19 claiming he is the fucking owner/manager. Hahha nice try I'm almost 30 years old. I will be investigating in the morning and won't let it go, until I find an older person. I've worked in places saying I'm a manager just to get people to go away. Like really wish I could leave 0 stars. So no it's not even 1 star. Ugh this place is so horrible! Please please please don't waste your time, gas or money. My boyfriend and I got there and the guy canceled our reservation so we had to make a new one.. He says all he has available is a smoking room then he says he actually has a non smoking (room 105). Right when we walked in we noticed it smelled like smoke even though it was 'non smoking'. The comforter and bed pillows were covered in stains. This wasn't our breaking point though. In the bathroom was a 15 x 15 (maybe bigger) huge patch of painted over BLACK MOLD that also had new mold growing on it right to the left of the shower. That was totally not okay because we knew we would get so sick sleeping in there. We go back to the office, explain we are not sleeping in a room with a very large patch of mold so we were given the smoking room (room 115) . This room was completely vandalized (see pics) not even clean and had a completely stained up mattress. When we ask for a refund he tells us 'There is no refund.. If you messed the room up we aren't giving you the money.' (We were up there for 10 mins.. There was no way the damage was done by us) I automatically pull out the pics I took of the room. Showing the guy it was so not acceptable.. And then I was given my $200 back. I want to report this place to the department of public health. Although I know everyone has different thresholds. This place is completely unlivable. Not even for a night. We ended up having to sleep in our car and unable to find another vacancy till the next day but that was still better than spending a night in that dump. Horrible experience. Worst customer service ever!!! I believe his name was Martin or somewhere along the lines... First I called to confirm my reservations & they said we didn't have reservation, I asked how if I have a confirmation email and the guy responds "idk but you don't have reservations" then after that everything I asked after that he responded with "idk" & I asked if I can speak to someone else & he said he's the only one there so I asked how am I going to get help if he doesn't know anything & I'm need a room for tonight because I'm far from home & of course responds with "idk" & I respond "OMG WHAT DO YOU KNOW" cause I'm mad at this point & he hangs up. (My boyfriend reserved the room & later found out he booked it with booking.com) if I knew I would have immediately called booking.com but regardless the person I spoke too should have told me this instead of saying "idk" the whole time. He ended up calling us saying it's now booked but then get a second call saying that it was cancelled cause my card was declined. I told him I was gonna put money into my account when I reached bellflower & he told me "well it's already cancelled" & I asked him if I can get another room and he told me "no" then I asked him why would he run my card if in the email & on there website it says that we don't pay until we arrive, then he had the nerve to really hang up on me! I'm thankful I didn't stay here though, ended up staying at the Hilton Anaheim instead and was treated excellent. read more

This had to be the most distgusting place I have ever seen. We came into town late at night and had never been to this town. We booked this room through a booking company. First, they claimed that it was close to the theme parks in Orange County, it was not. The theme parks are still 20 minutes away and you need to transfer from several freeways. Then as you are driving up it is quite clear that it is not the best of neighborhoods and that you definetly need to lock your doors and forget about red lights, just to get to the hotel. As you drive up to the hotel, you have the impression that it was an old Tijuanna prison that was converted into a hotel. The owners, who live on site, have absolutely no feel for asthetics and the overwhelming smell of curry and rancid oil fills the bullet proof lobby. Breakfast, exttra towels - forget about it, you would have a better chance of scoring a drug deal from the live in tenants of the hotel. With this being said, coming in late and not being familiar with the area, we decided to brave it and try and tolerate the hotel room. Thinking that we would be inside and locked up safe. The inside of the hotel room was not much better. It was distgustingly filthy and wasn't even tacky enough to have outdated 70's furnishings. It looked as if they hit ever swapmeet in the area for used furniture. There was dust and stains on everything. We had a clear view of the dumpster and in it we saw a mattress that looked like it had been picked over by a forensics team, and that we were convinced that was more than likely from our room because in our room you could see suspicious stains on the ceilings and walls that we believe could have been human fluids. It was so bad that we were afraid to close our eyes for fear that we would be attacked by the cockroaches that were more than likely looming in the shadows. The bathroom area had mildew and mold in the shower and the bottom of the tub was a mediocre shade of grey. Tired and disgusted we left in the middle of the night and drove to another hotel.
