wowowowow. One of the best diners I've ever been to and I'm a pretty bug diner fanatic. I got a classic breakfast and my friend got the cheese steak. We also got a slice of cherry pie, chocolate coconut cake and a cherry vanilla shake. Everything was incredible. The service was fantastic and the diner was absolutely adorable. I'd come back again and again if I was a PA local.

Slow, but friendly service, slow kitchen, decent food. The place looks classic, cozy, and has character, but doesn't match the atmosphere I experienced. Next time I'll pass.

Not a pot pie. No crust.

Keep driving past this place. Slow, inexperienced service, dirty bathrooms and a kitchen that clearly doesn't care about the poor quality of food they're putting out. Served microwaved reheated fries, toast that was not toasted (aka white bread). Described a pot pie in the menu that doesn't have either top or bottom crust (that's just chicken and dumplings, not a pie). Save yourself the disappointment and skip the Dutch Kitchen.

Years ago, I saw that The Dutch Kitchen was mentioned in Jane and Michael Stern's "Road Food" book. That enticed us to try it as we were in the vicinity at the time. I remembered eating a dumpling entree and enjoying it. My husband and our daughter also ordered some comfort food. Since we had room for dessert, we all got apple pie, which was the star of the meal. Thus, we were glad to have a chance to eat there yet again during our recent trip. All I can say is it isn't the same anymore. It was as if they were resting on their laurels while having a sign on the door mentioning them making it into "Road Food". We had an early dinner and the place was fairly busy. All the other people there were our ages or older. Plus it was clear that they were locals who were regulars there. The service was fine, no complaints there. Looking for some comfort food, I ordered turkey croquettes with mashed potatoes and gravy along with a side salad. My husband ordered meat loaf with mashed potatoes and gravy plus a side of beets. While the food was edible, it was a let down. My husband said his meat loaf was "okay" and he was disappointed that the beets were served cold (he prefers to have them warm). I found the turkey croquettes to be overcooked. The bottoms of the croquettes were on the burned side and tough. The filling barely had any turkey in it. Thus, I was glad to see the gravy portion was generous as it helped with the dryness of the croquettes. The side salad with creamy Italian salad was fine. I wish we had room for some pie but we were full plus eager to get to our destination before dark. Perhaps a piece of pie would have redeemed the meal. Well...now I won't be thinking of stopping in there should we come this way again...

First thing we noticed was the ample parking and outdoor patio. We were greeted like family and given the choice between the dining room or the diner side, and we chose the diner. Our hostess and waitress both greeted us quickly, and what we noticed most was how friendly there were. The menu has some very homey choices, not a place if you are looking for trendy health food options. We went with the clam chowder, salads, meatloaf, pot pie and beets. All arrived promptly and was yummy! The restaurant side has a little "store" which sold jelly's and relishes, recipe books and shirts. The bathrooms were clean. Not too far off I81, this was a convenient and nice place to have dinner. We had been looking for the Cracker Barrel but we're on the wrong side of the Highway and we are thankful for our mistake-turned-good fortune.

Yeah, fish on a mountain top! It was on special and was tasty. I like the tarter sauce.

It's a good dinner in a scenic location. When I am going over this truck route pass, I like to stop here for a hefty meal. it's a real diner with lots of people passing through and a bunch of aged locals having a meal. Young folks stop to grab a burger with friends. I like the food and think ist good diner food. They have a few healthy options. Staff is hit or miss sometimes, but mostly friendly. I seem to catch'em at the end of the shift, so they are a little reticent.

Cozy little place. Very satisfied with the turkey club. Large portion and carved turkey breast. Close to the interstate, fast service.

Last evening myself & wife went there for dinner! Everything…read morewas going good! Then the waiter became a very annoying. I understand what your job involves, but standing over customers & demanding them to order something so you can leave & get tip doesn't fly. The interior of restaurant was just ok, the bench's for booths in rear of restaurant were missing. Very gloomy atmosphere. The soup yankee bean was the best part of my whole meal. Which for the amount that was ordered should've been on point. Items ordered: Yankee bean soup, steamed carrots & fish n chips Wife got salad, buttered corn & fish n chips We also got potato skins & chicken tenders (appetizer) Wouldn't you guess it they would serve everything all together. I'm so glad that I didn't indulge myself & eat the fish, I am one of the few people allergic to Tilapia. As an ex Chef I know the basics for fish n chips is 95% of the time cod. (Nothing was stated on the menu) I ate the fries which were obviously fried together, already had the lovely feeling of throat swelling up. I let wife take care of things due to myself thinking it was just my stress from work (go outside for fresh air) Wife than calls me back into restaurant with fish in hand(and owner had not known what fish was used for this item on the menu) I was floored! How do you not know your menu from front to back. He later told us it was Tilapia & he still wanted compensation for us getting the fish. The establishment used to be on my ok list, this restaurant is now worse than Pizza Hut. No point in sharing photos it wasn't a pleasant experience. Kudos to the owner for being an out right Dick!
