2/14/2026 My husband and I have been to this restaurant for a few Valentine's Days and we are never disappointed. We enjoy the bar happy hour, Sunday Brunch and everything they offer. Mike our server, was very friendly, attentive and efficient. He has a great personality and is a single dad and a hard worker. My husband and I have a particular affinity for hard-working servers as we used to be them. We used to be the ones giving up all of our holidays to wait on others, but now we're finally benefitting from the fruits of our efforts and enjoying restaurants on holidays as customers & not servers. We both opted to get the Filet Oscar! First though was The Ststion salad with mandarins, strawberries, slivered almonds on spring mix with mango dressing. We enjoyed it so much. The chunks of sweet highest quality crab meat over perfectly cooked 8 ounce filet, Medium, was as good as it gets. The hollandaise sauce was the best I've ever had- rich, tasty and I could taste the lemon in it too- I loved it! We also got dessert! The towering chocolate cake and cream puff! I cannot wait to enjoy my leftovers! The Station has always done wonderful holidays. Valentines is no exception with tables bedecked with lovely flowers and glittery heart in a mini vase. A large group of us went to the Tamaqua Station Restaurant. This is a neat restaurant in a train station. We were given a separate dining area. The waitress who handled our large group was excellent. She gave us great service. There were twenty of us. Eighteen people said their meal was great. Two said only ok to the turkey dinner. I would rate as a $$$ restaurant. Plenty of parking. We all enjoyed our time. They had delicious specials such as salmon linguine. I was told by five people it was outstanding. Didn't have the kids with us for lunch today, so we came here as we were in the area. We had a nice lunch. TSR seems to be one of the nicer restaurants in Tamaqua and at least their entree prices reflect it. The other things on the menu seem to be more reasonably priced and I'm glad we came for lunch and not dinner. I included menu pictures as of today for reference. I had an appetizer of the soup of the day which was chicken quesadilla. How they get that flavor into a soup is beyond me but it definitely tasted like a thick chicken quesadilla. It was quite nice. For a main, I went with a Turkey Rachel which is turkey, Russian dressing, Swiss cheese, and coleslaw on toasted rye bread. It came with a side of fries. Wife had a side Caesar salad which was nice but nothing great, and a black bean burger which she liked a lot but was on the spicy side. The fries we both got were just enough portion sized and well done like we asked for. My sandwich was nicely crispy bread and tasty insides but I did not feel 100% on the way home; it could have really been the heat or the combo with the alcohol, but the taste of the Rachel was in my mouth so I was not feeling it. I ordered a Yuengling Flight expecting four 4oz pours of different Yuengling beers they had available, but really got a pint of their low-calorie beer, Flight. When I said this to our waitress, she did bring out three 2oz pours of a regular Yuengling, a Summer Shandy, and a Breakfast Stout. Two of the three I liked and she certainly did not have to do this, but I truly appreciate the effort made. I also had a mojito and the wife had a French martini both of which hit the spot. The restaurant is actually a converted train station, and there's memorabilia around to look at. There are active train tracks right next to the place and we were told trains still run along, especially the heavy coal trains. A rarity among restaurants, TSR brought a dessert tray to our table with today's selections. I chose a vanilla mascarpone cake, and wife chose a berry pie. Both desserts left us stuffed and were nice and fresh. Service was more than attentive and got a nice tip for going above and beyond with the beer issue. Just about $75 for two of us for lunch not including tip. Two cocktails, two appetizers, a beer, two mains, and two desserts. Quite enjoyable. read more

First time here - AMAZING. We drove from Bethlehem to try this place with friends from the area. Beautifully restored, clean, lots of parking, noise level was pretty average/quieter. All of the wait staff was amazing - despite the fact that next to us, was a huge table of about 26 people, and the entire restaurant was full. Service was great - we did not wait for our food, courses were brought perfectly timed, bar service was fast. Food at our table consisted of crab croquette, wings, pork pot stickers appetizers - all delicious. Courses were crab cakes, Salmon Oscar, meatloaf, prime rib. Food was all cooked perfectly, very high quality/upscale - simple and very delicious. Crab was all jumbo lump meat, no filler at all, mashed potatoes were fresh potatoes, asparagus was perfect, prime rib was just right, salmon was seared perfectly, meatloaf had lots of flavor. Limited vegetarian selections but ask and they can make something up for you. I got primavera, I felt the sauce lacked enough cream, it was my fault I should have asked for an alfredo sauce to begin with ($20 with included side salad) . Friend got a Rueben which he rated 5 stars ($13). His baked potato was tiny, thankfully he is not a big eater. House garden salad was huge, and very tasty ($11). I got the side salad with walnuts and pears. Definitely #1 salad I have ever eaten. Friend got pecan pie, 5 stars ($6) I got German chocolate pie with coconut topping and pecans. Crust was pale and not so appetizing. The chocolate filling was so thick it was like digging through a candy bar brownie - and contained so much good chocolate - about 3 candy bars worth. For a pie I rate this #1 of every pie I have eaten in any restaurant. Friend got Yeuling beer ($9) locally brewed. Small bar selection with major brands. What a wonderful Father's Day dinner we had last evening. The Tamaqua Station Restaurant did NOT disappoint. This was our first-time having dinner here and we totally enjoyed it. I started off with the Chicken Quesadilla soup...OH MY GOD it was outstanding! It had nice hardy chucks of chicken and the over all flavor had a kick to it. Highly recommended. My Veal Marsala was out of this world...The veal was very tender, and the marsala sauce was very soothing on my pallet. The asparagus were tender, and the baked potato had a distinguishing flavor that I cannot even describe. The Red Sangria was fruitful and very quenching...So good! Charlene, my girlfriend, had the crab cakes. She said they were to die for. Best crab cakes she ever had! The horseradish mashed potatoes were scrumptious! Starting with the facility-it is a beautifully restored train station on the RR tracks in Tamaqua, Pa. Soft lighting, very comfortable temperature on a very hot day. We both ordered soup-French onion and chicken corn noodle. Both were delicious. The chicken soup was filled with chicken. I got the special app of the day-potato skins with bacon, cheddar and a BBQ ranch drizzle. It was very good. I also had the delicious pork dumpling with Thai chili sauce and teriyaki sauce. Hi We have been going to the Train Station for a long time. Recently we have been getting less than adequate meals. They were lukewarm, the veal was chewy and the lamb rack fatty. The crab risotto was like porridge, nothing to dip, no large pieces of crab for the price. We were very disappointed since in the past we have gotten great meals and service. The service wasn't bad but not great either. I hope they improve. At a time you couldn't get a table but now the dining room was empty. It's too bad. read more
