I would give this company no Stars if possible. I've left 3 messages for the owner with another employee to have him call me to see if he could assist me with my project request. All 3 times I was assured he was given my messages. It's pathetic that the owner chooses to ignore a potential customer. I was told all three times he would 100% call me by the end of the next day and I never heard from him. Happily I'll take my business elsewhere. Personally I would feel like a complete jerk ignoring 3 messages. Funny, not until I called back to confirm his name (Sean) for my negative Yelp review was he miraculously available and wanting to talk. Sorry, too late! I chose this service after online research. Yes it is a little pricey but the service is satisfactory and as expected. There was numerous slide caroussels for many past years of under or over exposed or not so focused photos. Therefore the scanning produced the result of the photo. I relied on Photoshop to fix those now digital photos. Works for me. What I especially like is that the service does exactly what I want. They put all according to given labels, on folders in DVD form so I could transfer to my PC drive and edit accordingly. Perfect. read more

When I picked them up, Blake told me that they couldn't bring anything up when replaying the copies back. He said if when I returned home and checked them and they didn't work, he would refund me. I went to dvd your memories to have some old family reunion tapes transferred. I thought they just take the tapes and transfer them to DVDs and that's it. But it turned out that they had a actual video editing department. You're able to work with the video editor one on one putting in voice overs and sound effects. Once I took the video home I notice something I wanted to change, I came back the following week and they change it for me free of charge. I worked with Bryan during a very difficult time - he helped me with reproducing pics of my father in law. He passed away a week ago, and Bryan was so sweet and really went the extra mile. He could tell that I was under a great deal of stress, and in his own free time he made color copies of my pics - off site. He was also able to convert my two 78 records into audible cd's. Both CD's were edited and the sound quality was just amazing, considering the age of the records. This establishment is top notch and so trustworthy. I left pictures and records that were priceless and received my items completed the next day. Bryan was so considerate of how I was feeling and advised me of status right away. While my order was not a huge sale, it did not matter to him. He just wanted to help. When I picked up my final order, I told him that he restored my faith in humanity. The care and concern by every person at DVDYM in Irvine is extraordinary! I have been working with Evangeline, and she has been such a helpful, delightful professional who knows what I need because she really listens to what I'm trying to accomplish. I have two family albums that I am having scanned, page by page so that (1) the script and combination of photos stay together, (2) my seven sisters and cousins can have copies, and (3) in case of fire and the original albums are destroyed. First, my Dad's Navy Album (he served from 1934 to 1961) has been cared for meticulously, with all its historic, valuable documents, photos, ID cards, articles, etc. Nothing is out of place and every question I ask about status is immediately taken care of. My Mom found more items to place in the album, so it's not quite done, but it's exciting to look at the beautiful continuous results. Second, we finished my parents 1944 Wedding album, and it's lovely! Of course there's been more finds around Mom's house for that album, too, so it wasn't a simple submitting of the album and a week later it was done. There's been a lot of discoveries and adjustments along the way! I could not have done these projects without the help of Evangeline, and really - each team member at DVDYM, as my requests in the studio and phone calls are always treated with respect and helpfulness. It's a pleasure having them participate in my family history through the fabulous offerings DVDYM has to provide in the way of scanning and consulting (so far). I'm looking forward to using other technologies and working with them for all of these types of projects! Next two are my ancestors' albums on both parent's side! My product: VHS transfer to DVD (1 hour). VHS tape is 20+ years old and is in the best condition a tape of this era can be. PROS: +2 Stars 1. Great customer service 2. On time delivery 3. On site store transfer CONS: -3 Stars 1. The colors were way off. Color were way off and too bright. Lets say the sun was shining on someone's face, the face was all bright yellow ...etc. 2. *PRIOR* Store location is far away from any major streets. (But I think Video Quality should be the basis of this review). This store location now seems vastly superior, good job! Conclusion: 1. I took my same VHS tape to *a different vendor* located in Lake Forest and that is how I know how the product should turn out. The *different vendor* vhs transfer was amazing and easily seen as the superior product compared to DVDYourMemories. I think you should try different companies to see which company best services your specific product as a test run and then stick with the company that is best for you. P.S. All of the staff is knowledgeable about the product and how to properly convert/save/store/enhance your video. I brought in 3 boxes of slides, 5 16mm films, and a few VHS tapes, a job which other places said would take upwards of a month. DVD Your Memories had it done in 2 weeks, they sorted my slides and did touch-up work on the quality of the image, and had it all backed up onto flash memory for me with minimal costs. I called the day before because I needed to have 4x5 transparencies scanned. I was told they do that kind of work even after I asked them to verify that as I was having a hard time finding a company that could. When I got down there and showed them what I had I was told they couldn't do the job. I drove 40 miles, round trip, to their place. They had no idea how to help me and couldn't suggest another place that could. They were barely apologetic. If you use this firm double-confirm they can do the work before going there. Horrible! Films were not ready on the agreed upon date nor the second date. I was not told that it would take an hour to upload the films to a flash drive upon pick up, which I interpret as disregard on my time. These guys are worth the money. I had been searching for a mini DVD tape of my son's skate tournament only to bottom out to find the tape had torn. I was beyond grateful they were able to both repair the tape and transfer to DVD for my Christmas party. The work was done way before schedule. I wish it cost a little less, but hey, you get what you pay for. Their shop, though tricky to find, is a huge well oiled machine. They have awesome staff who explain everything in detail, perform like clockwork and very professional at all times. What more can you ask for? read more
