I am a few months into the service and it has been great! I highly recommend this company if you want to go with cloth diapers. The price is very fair for everything. I compared the price to other companies and this one was the best price. I ordered some diaper shields through the company and they were also reasonably priced. The employee who I dealt with over the phone to get the process started was super sweet and very patient. She helped me figure out the best options for me (how many cloth diapers to buy, what sizes to buy, etc.). Other companies allow you to rent the cloth diaper covers but they came out to the same price as buying them and you can always use them if you have another baby so it's worth buying. The pick up service is great. The employee comes close to the same time everyday and if he comes early and I am not ready he just knocked on the door and waited patiently for me. But I know he is busy so I try very hard to have diapers ready for pick up! Would definitely use this service again! read more

I really wanted to give Dy-Dee Diaper Service a try, but my experience was frustrating. First off, their website is extremely outdated and doesn't provide any information on pricing. Why is that a secret? At the very least, they could list different packages or give an estimate. It's honestly a waste of time to browse a site for that long without getting any clear information. To make matters worse, I discovered that they no longer service Simi Valley, despite it being listed as a location they serve on the site. I spent an entire evening reading reviews and trying to decide if this was the right company, only to find out that the website is not up-to-date with their current service area. At this point, I feel like they need to either hire more people to update their site regularly and be able to service the areas they say they service or consider closing shop. This could be a great service, but the lack of clear info and poor communication leaves much to be desired. read more

Wonderful service. We used them for our first child and they made things so easy. We had moved out of their area and had to use a different service for our second child. That service required you to rinse the diaper before placing it in their bin and that was less than desirable (we just ended up purchasing our own cloth diapers as a result). Four years ago, when I had my son, I tried this service but couldn't get the diapers to stay on. We quit after a week and used Payne one diaper. We ended up cloth diapering ourselves and doing all the washing ourselves. It was a PITA, but worth it for the environmental and cost savings. Also our son was potty trained by 18 months. This time around, we had a daughter and used a newborn diaper rental until 3 months then did diapers ourselves until she started solids. I decided to come back to the well and I'm really glad I did. For some reason (I think my own confidence), we were successful this time around. I love how easy it is. Also my baby is very prone to diaper rashes so this is great! You can use creams and it doesn't ruin the diapers (you are severely limited to certain creams in self-wash diapers because they break down the liners in diapers. Covers and cloth diapers have gotten considerably cheaper over the last four years. I got 10 on amazon for $40. I use those covers as my covers for these diapers too. We'll be using these until baby is out of diapers, which will hopefully be around 18 months again! read more

Dy-dee delivers a couple of weeks before your due date so you're ready. After the first couple of deliveries they return the number of diapers you turn in the following week instead of a full order. I didn't want to have to rinse or soak anything. They have sizes for babies and toddlers. You have to call them to start regular weekly service. I looked into Bummis first but I want cotton cloth diapers. I'll probably start with disposables but I grew up with cloth which is so much different now. People use snaps or velcro instead of safety pins. When I was a child, I don't remember having different folds for cloth diapers either. There were no diaper covers before but Dy-dee sells the velcro kind (3 for $13+tax or $7.25 each). I want to use this to cut down on solid waste and transition to home laundering. Honestly, this company is a gem! I knew I wanted to use cloth diapers with my baby but I really wasn't jazzed about washing dirty diapers and covers. They do it all for you. No rinsing, no washing...just throw the dirty cloth diapers into the lined bin they provide and put the bag out for collection once a week. It couldn't be easier and I feel good knowing I'm making a more eco and sustainable choice. The customer service is so good. More than once, in my sleep deprived state, I have forgotten to put out the dirty diaper bag. I used this service for both of my kids. It was so convenient paired with Velcro waterproof diaper covers. No dangerous stuff against my babies delicate skin, no icky landfill waste. I loved that they had weekly pickup with clean fresh drop off, and I never had to wash diapers. I just set the pail on our back porch and emptied the daily diapers in there. The soft pul with Velcro covers held the diapers in place and prevented leaks. I bought those online and they were easy to throw in the laundry. Passed the covers down to a friend. I just loooove DyDee Diaper service. :) so friendly and nice and accommodating. Anyone looking to do cloth diaper service, I absolutely recommend them. Patti is the service rep for our area and she is just wonderful. Every single time I have called they are professional and really friendly. My driver is courteous and prompt, and I have never had an issue with their service. The diapers are clean and white, and soft! I also swear by their prowrap toddler diaper covers even for the babies. they come with a toddler clasp, have cute blue and pink colors and are durable. I have used them for both of my babies. The only change we made is to buy diaper genie bins to seal the smell of diaper which is inevitable with a diaper bin (we would have the same issue with disposable diapers so to me this was not an added expense). I negate the cost by reusing the diaper genie bags, and just transfer into the larger dydee pail at the end of the week. You can accomplish the same effect by placing the bin in a cabinet with doors and the air freshener they give you. I never thought I would be raving about something that gets peed and pooped on, but I am ridiculously happy with DyDee, and when we were considering a move out of the san fernando valley I was so bummed thinking I would have to find a new cloth diaper service, but NOPE!! I received one month of free diapers for my newborn as a gift. At first, I couldn't believe how easy it all was and how nice the people on the phone were. The diapers were fine; my son was pretty big when he was born and the newborn sized diapers could have fit better, but I made them work. After a couple of weeks I decided to return the diapers and discontinue the service. I didn't even use all the diapers. Keep in mind I didn't have to pay anything for this so far... The big problem occurred after I returned them. I received a phone call and a letter in the mail accusing me of not returning all of the diapers. They said 18 were missing. This was a lie. I had returned all the diapers, but had no way of proving it since I had already returned them. Long story short, they sent me to collections for $27, which is accruing interest as we speak. $27!!! I could pay the amount and just be done with this mess (I'm getting harassed by creditors since Dy-Dee decided to sell my "debt" and they're telling me if I don't pay it, it will just continue to accrue interest and stay on my credit report for x amount of years...), but honestly this is wrong and I am refusing to pay out of principle. How many other people are they scamming like this?! When I contested the amount I was simply told that Dy-Dee said I did not return the diapers and that was final. So it's my word against theirs. I lose. I have no reason to keep 18 newborn diapers, especially since they didn't really fit in the first place. I'm a new mom, why would I want to keep extra junk around the house that I don't need? I'm convinced this is a scam to recover some of the cost from offering a free service. I know other people have written great reviews and have nothing bad to say about this company, but this was my experience and if I can save someone else the aggravation of dealing with this company and their lies by sharing my experience then it'll be worth my headache (and my $27+). read more

Dydee Diapers makes cloth diapering better than you ever imagined and using a diaper service will still be cheaper than disposables. Seriously. Here are my tips for cloth diapering made as easy as disposables: 1) Use a diaper service. Dydee is the absolute best with fantastic customer service, incredible rates and the highest quality washing. They provide the pail, liners (the bags the fresh diapers come in), air deodorizers and a monthly zine. 2) Use the snappi fastener instead of pins. I would not do it any other way. You only really need one or two fasteners. 3) Pick up diaper covers (not many varieties available from Dydee) over the internet. Try more than 2 types to see what works best for you and your baby. I prefer side-snapping PUL lined covers for the simple reason that velcro wears out in the wash, snags other fabrics and worst of all is too noisy. It startles my little one. The totally eco-option are wool covers, but they can be tricky to wash and expensive. I love Gen-y covers best, they are the cutest, easiest to use and I like the fit. But don't you buy them because I want them all to myself and they are hard enough to get already. Bummis and Thirsties are the top brands with good products. You can get away with a minimum of 2 covers in your baby's size but with such a variety of colors, patterns and styles why? 4) Buy a wet/dry bag from Planet Wise for your clean and dirty diapers when away from home. They have great prints and wash easily. read more

We just had our son this past November and decided to go eco-friendly on the diapers. I was skeptical using a cloth diaper, but I love this service. Its on-time, friendly and so easy to do. Definitly beats having to drive to the store for disposables every week or so & its earth friendly. For our newborn, you do not smell the dirty diapers in the pail at all. The cost is way cheaper then buying diapers. I figured disposables at $140-160 per month and the service is only $20 a week thats about $80 a month for a newborn. We use the Dy Dee Diper wraps/covers. They work great. You need about 6 of them for a newborn. Buying them from Dy Dee is the cheapest I found on the internet & they come highly recommended (as Googled) by users. I tried the Snappi straps (no cover) and since there is no diaper cover, I found that whatever your baby is wearing, sitting on or laying on will get wet...so go for a diaper cover, dont waste time w/Snappi. With diaper covers make sure the entire diaper is tucked inside around the baby's legs or you will get some leakage. We use a non talc powder with every change and an all natural diaper cream for diaper rash. The powder works the best with the cloth diapers. Sprinkle it generiously on your baby's groin and butt. You will not regret the service. The delivery guys are great too. Make sure you tip them!! One last thing....I did research the soap they use to wash the diapers, its a "Tallow" based soap which is rendered animal fat. Its been used for centuries and can be found in most bar soaps from the store. I guess vege products just aren't good enough at cleaning baby diapers. Diappointing, but the service is still worth it. I feel much better knowing that I am not throwing a zillion diapers onto the planet every month. read more

I can't say enough about how easy and convenient this company makes cloth diapering! The nice driver shows up every week to pick up the used diapers and to drop off clean, fluffy new ones! I debated cloth diapers because I thought they'd be a pain, inconvenient, and would smell, but I decided to register with Dy-Dee, and I was given 4 months as gifts, so I decided to give it a go... And now I'm hooked! Give them a try and I really think you'll be hooked too. And as a HUGE testament to how easy it is... I gave my husband the option of disposable or cloth, and after trying the cloth for a week, he has decided that they're better than disposable! Because they ABSORB so much better, our daughter is sleeping better (7 hour stretches at 2 months old), the cloth don't smell like the disposable (yuck!!), and we haven't had a single "blow out!!!" We've been using the service for eight months now for my daughter, and I'm very happy with the service. The cloth diapers are good quality and work well with the Proraps diaper covers, as well as other hand-me-down diaper covers we've received from friends, including bumGenius and Kushies. Our delivery guy is very nice and helpful and usually the people I talk to on the phone are nice, though sometimes you'll get someone who sounds a bit rushed or checked out. The only thing I'd change is the account management. It's so old school. There is NO way to look up your account online or make electronic payments. You pretty much have to call the office or physically to request changes to your delivery schedule. It's not a huge hassle, but seems so archaic in this day and age. (Incidentally, I did just find out today that I can leave my payment (by paper check, ha!) taped to the bag of dirties rather than put it in the mail.) read more

I've been using Dy Dee for nearly 4 months now and they are great! I went with them because they are the oldest operating diaper service and they happen to be located in my city. I set up service prior to my daughter being born and all I had to do was call them once I brought her home. This triggered the service to start and now I get diapers delivered and picked up every Thursday between 8am - 10am. You just put them out on your porch and they pick up the dirty ones and you get a bag of clean diapers. Payment is easy too, just set up auto pay and you don't have to worry about a thing. The amount of diapers you get is also very flexible. You can change the amount of right up to the day before they are delivered, you can put your delivery on hold, if you forget to put out your diapers they'll still leave you your clean ones and come back the next week for both pickups, & they offer different sizes depending on the size of your child. Patty, their customer service rep, is super nice and always ready to help you. I found it weird the first time I called since she seemed SO eager to help but that's just how she is every time I call! After the first month you'll probably get a phone call about a free photo and session. I just ignored this since the voicemail said it was for one free photo. This meant that they would probably take a bunch of different shots of my baby and try to get me to buy them. This is a separate company that I assume gets info on all the new customers. Nothing negative, just be aware that they will offer this. Cloth diapers are super easy and this just makes it even easier! Truly shocked at how unprofessional this diaper service is. I was due with second child on October 29th so I ordered my first batch a month early and it was delivered on September 27th. The same morning before the delivery even arrived I had to go to the ER because I've had hyperemesis my entire pregnancy and couldn't stop throwing up. Upon my arrival I was told that I have preeclampsia and needed to be induced a whole month early. My baby was born 4 lbs. The diaper inserts didn't fit her so I held onto them until they did. She is now 4 months old and I switch between Huggies when we're out of the house and the cloth diapers when we are home. I haven't even used ¼ of them when the company called me for the 3ed time saying they need to pick it up we've had it for too long... Even though I explained to them that I had a very small preemie baby who just barely started fitting into them.. it's not like I'm holding there gold hostage, they're just freakin diaper inserts and I paid my $90! I am a working mom and just had my second baby. With our first, a girl, I was only on maternity leave for 4 months and we lived in an apartment, so cloth diapering just didnt happen. With our son, it being the second time around, I am taking 6 months maternity leave (hindsight is 20/20). That is a lot of dirty diapers to think about - and I hate the idea of filling up landfills with Swuggies. Now that we live in a house, it was much easier to consider cloth diapers - for at least the 6 months I am at home with him (the daycare he will go to only does disposables). Thankfully my cousin had a baby 6 months before me and she signed up with Dy-Dee so I had someone to observe before taking the plunge. She gave me a couple of demonstrations and it looked easy enough. I was generously given the service as a gift by a family member so then it was a no-brainer. The first couple of weeks were rough (but when isn't it with a newborn?) and I tried out several diaper cover brands. When he was just home from the hospital, on my cousin's recommendation, we used the plain plastic diaper covers with Velcro closures that you can buy from Dy-Dee (we have 3). Within a couple of weeks we had moved on to Thirsties Duo Wraps (Velcro closure) and have been using those ever since (we have 6). We started out with the requisite 80 pre-folds per week. We are using disposables when we go out or travel but that still averages to at least 8-10 cloth changes per day. When he hit 12 pounds I called Dy-Dee and they offered to send me a few of the next size so we could experiment (4 arrived via ground shipping within a couple of days). The larger size with a fold in the front (where a boy needs it most) provides great absorbency when he sleeps for longer periods. At 9 weeks old he is 14 pounds and nearly outgrowing the infant size. A quick call to Dy-Dee and we are now switching exclusively to the larger size, and dropping down to 60 pre-folds delivered per week. I love that we can just drop the dirties into the bin and not have to fuss. If he poops his pants just after a fresh diaper change I don't have the guilt I would have using a disposable. We use the pre-folds around the house as changing table pads and diaper cloths. They are bright white and cleaner than any whites I would ever wash at home. We put the bag of dirties out the night before and our delivery man comes promptly once a week and drops the freshies on our front porch. I was hesitant to use cloth diapers because like you, I was thinking "Ew, how messy!" But I was SO wrong. Using a diaper service you get all of the benefits of cloth diapers without any of the hassle. All you need to purchase is a few diaper covers and Dydee does all the dirty work! They provide the diaper pail and deodorizer and even a brochure on different methods to fold the diapers. I thought using cloth diapers would cancel out any "green" benefits by having to wash the diapers frequently, but since Dydee uses industrial, high efficiency washing machines, it only comes out to about 3 and 1/2 gallons of water per day for my baby, or about one toilet flush. Hey, that's less than I use! It's only about $20/week and the cost decreases as you use fewer diapers. Also, their customer service folks have always been SO helpful. As a forgetful, sleep-deprived new mom, they gave me an extra call to remind me of my new pickup day at my request. When I wasn't sure if I needed to go up a size in diapers, they offered to send me a couple of samples with my next delivery so I could decide. I went to visit my mom for 10 days a couple of weeks ago and I used disposable diapers during that time. My poor baby's bum was sweaty and red. I can't imagine wearing a plastic diaper all day long. I wear cotton undies...why can't my baby? I have nothing but good things to say about this service. They really make it so easy. Any my baby's soft smooth, rash-free bottom is thankful too. **My one tip: buy a couple of "snappies" they make diaper fastening a snap.
