Cheap Kids Clothes! This is definitely a great local place. I drove a bit out of my way to check it out based on the rave reviews. The little one picked out three things. The customer service is fantastic. The shop is small but they know where everything is. I bought 3 items for $22 bucks. That is still expensive in my book..especially for used items. I can tell you about the deals I got at the Rack and Marshalls that would be within the same range. The fact is, both places you would need to frequent for deals. This is just my opinion. This is the perfect place to get baby shower and birthday gifts that are affordable and eco-friendly. It's also lovely if you have gently used items to sell on consignment in exchange for store credit. I was looking for a shop that carried natural products for children that I could gift for a birthday, and I hit the jackpot here. It was better in person than I imagined! This store is so well organized (by gender and age range) and there's truly something for everyone (even parents). I could have spent hours in here going through every item, but since I was short on time I asked for helped. The owner, Missy, kindly helped me pick out the perfect gifts and another staff member wrapped them in beautiful bags (free of charge). I couldn't believe how low the total was for a bunch of fantastic gifts! You can find second-hand and brand new clothing, toys and accessories. I purchased a new botanical candle that smelled divine, a darling second-hand dress for a newborn, a wonderful eco-friendly toy kit, a pack of reusable food pouches, and a second-hand book that looked brand new. What could have cost me upwards of $80 at high-end kid's stores or natural parenting shops totaled just about $40 including beautiful wrapping. My friend loved everything. This is my new go-to store for baby showers, children's birthdays and special occasions. There are so many lovely gifts here, it's a one-stop shop! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Great place to buy and sell....especially if you are a proponent of the "recycle" movement in kids clothing. I like high end for my babies but hate the boutique prices so I do a lot of ebay. But now I have found GKG. I sold of tub of great used clothes and toys and the owner was super nice and fun to chat with. She thanked me for bringing in "good stuff." I bought quite a few things as well, including a cute hoodie and a dress for my girl and a pair of pumas for my boy. I do wish they had more boys stuff though, especially in sizes 5 and up. There are tons of items in this crammed-packed store. If you don't mind the hunt, there are a lot of bargains to be found! The sales assistant was fabulous. She asked us if there was anything we were looking for in particular, and she brought out a stack from the back. She was very kind and helpful. Minus 1 star for some higher prices (i.e., organic used dress for $14.99) but 4 stars total for great selection (I got THREE TEA dresses and FOUR HABA wooden toys) and excellent sales staff. I gave this store two chances. I was so optimistic, because I heard there was a brand new owner and maybe she needed time to make some differences. But honestly, it was the same both times. Very poor quality items! I mean, most of the shirts were very worn and had pills! I wouldn't take them for free, much less pay the prices being asked. Both times I did buy a decent pair of shoes, but at a really too-high price point. The second time I came in, I was secretly hoping to consign my own (really nice) kids clothes and shoes. But I quickly saw that it wouldn't be worth it, because I would never be able to use my store credit there to buy anything decent. The lady was very nice, and did mention that she put some things by the checkout desk because she didn't have room in the store. My thought was if she got rid of all the poor-quality items in the store, she might have room for nicer items!! Anyway, I didn't offer my things and decided this was not a good match for me. So many of us were spoiled by Bluebird on Larchmont, which has now closed. It's too bad that Grow Kid Grow isn't seizing this opportunity to have a great shop and pick up all of Bluebird's old customers. That's definitely not going to happen with the store I've now seen twice and couldn't wait to leave both times. read more

Born and raised in this area and have been coming here for YEARS. My mom brought me and my little brothers here and now I bring my daughter here, said that to the women at the register that helped me and she was so easy and helpful to talk to! It seems that a bunch of my friends are popping out babies left and right. I've found myself making the rounds and looking for baby clothes, diapers, toys, baby furniture and more. These things ain't cheap! I was on my way to Silverlake to do some present shopping anyway so on a lark I typed in ""baby store silverlake" in my google search. This is how I stumbled upon Grow Kid Grow. I Yelped it and saw all the amazing reviews so I had to check it out for myself. The place is small but super cute. There are definitely a ton of clothes crammed into this small little treasure trove of a store. To my surprise all the secondhand items were super-duper inexpensive (items I grabbed ranged from $1.99 to $7. I made out like a bandit with a handful of onesies, bibs, and caps. And to top it off, the clothes were in great condition! This totally beats spending $20-$40 on new, tiny baby clothes. There were definitely some "new" items made by local artists and designers that were $15. Not too bad especially if they are made by local peeps. And the guy working when I came in was really helpful and pointed out some neat things around the store. I definitely recommend this place. So many neat gems and $$ saver to boot! My goodness. How did I forget to review this sweet little gem of a store in Silver Lake? Looking for mint condition designer and high-end clothing for your little pea? Well look no further! GKG sells all sorts of really cute stuff from designer label to vintage and everything in between. They have a lot of organic cotton clothes for both boys and girls too. Prices are totally reasonable for the brands and styles they carry from Petite Bateau, Oilily, Tea and some European labels too. The store is small and packed full of stuff so it's really fun to sift through everything if you really love shopping. There is just too much cute stuff to go through! If you are planning to sell you will need to schedule an appointment. The owner is gracious and professional and prices items very fairly. I believe you will get 1/3 of the retail cost in cash and a little more in trade but they are very fair about everything and you won't leave feeling robbed like Twinkle Twice in Burbank (please see my review of that nightmare of a place). GKG has set rules on the way they run things, which is great so you won't feel awkward trying barter or haggle. There's a cute little play area for your babes if you need to keep them occupied while you're busy. Parking is on Sunset and is about $2 for an hour. Definitely check their website from time to time as they update it monthly to let you know what they are buying and selling. I absolutely love this store and don't know why I ever thought to cheat on them with a store closer to my house. Mamas in the valley, do yourself a favor and make the trip to Silver Lake. Avoid Twinkle Twice at all costs if you are selling 2nd hand baby items that are of value. read more

I'm having a baby girl this spring, so wanted to trade some of my son's outgrown clothing and shoes for girl's clothing and shoes. The shop is cluttered, but well organized. I'm actually glad it's cluttered since that means they have more stuff! This place is amazing. Great place to find new and gently used children's clothing, toys and books. There are also some cute handmade items. The place is almost bursting at the seams, it is so full. They are selective in what they carry, so you don't have to worry about sorting through lots of junk like many second-hand stores. The sales assistant was pleasant, and very helpful. And the prices are very reasonable. I found baby pajamas for $4.99, a handmade stuffed bunny for $5.99, and a handful of classic children's books. Love this store!! Found a link to this store online when looking for good-quality resale baby items while still pregnant. (Wanted good value but concerned about having to dig through items like at a thrift store - not the experience I was looking for.) VERY happy with what we found...a quaint shop full of clothes, toys, and baby/kid stuff in good condition at great prices. Lots of good name clothes - Japenese Weekend for mom, Baby Gap, Guess, etc - as well as cute stuff by local artists (onsies, tshirts, etc). One of the owners was working that day and saw we were checking out the Moses baskes int he window...I commented that I really wanted a pack-n-play instead, and he happened to have one behind the counter!! Like-new condition at 80% less than new!! Great values, good to support local business, friendly/helpful staff/owners, excellent selection. They even have a changing table in their bathroom in case your little one needs a quick change!! Seems like the stock rotates regularly - only downside is that I wish I lived closer so I could go more frequently!! read more

I had a $150 dollar credit which I was told when they were selling the store to the new owners "nothing would change and your credit is going to be honored". Well I go in to use my credit and that is not the case. The woman apologized but said I should of "received a newsletter". I never received any kind of newsletter. And she said they were never planning on honoring it and that I could have a discount. She was shocked I didn't receive a newsletter as "that's the only way one communicates!" The lady was condescending to about this. Well when Bluebird went out of business I got an actual email directed to me as I was a client there. Grow Kid Grow had my email on file. And sent a newsletter to obviously there either new or clients prior. $150 dollar credit. That's a lot of there stained/holed filled used clothes I'm not getting that I paid for already. Very unprofessional. I also posted about this on my online mom groups (because yes I am online condescending store owner) and many moms are responding this happened to them as well! Some people with even higher credits, up to $300 dollars! Not a way to run a business. read more

This is a fabulous used children's shop. I have found so many treasures for both my toddler and 12 year old. The clothes they sell are clean, if not brand new and are all high-quality. If I lived closer I would do all my kid's clothes shopping there. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always offering assistance and if they don't have something you are looking for, they will take your name and call you if it shows up. SO this was the 2nd time I've been in to this amazing find. The 1st time I went in it was on a Living Social deal and was floored at how great everything was. And now my 4 yr is walking around in Lucky Brand, DKNY, Converse and a ton of great clothes and great designers. The true gem of this find is the Manager Dani, who you will immediately ADORE!!! She is the best!!! She's patient with the kids while mom shops and gives amazing suggestions and she just adds to the fact that I don't think I paid more than $7.99 which is always a plus. My second time was yesterday and I was there to actually sell/trade a ton of stuff which she went through while I shopped and since both her and I are tiny we get to shop there too. I'm new to the kids' resale world, and I really like Grow Kid Grow. They have a nice, well-organized, well-edited selection of second-hand clothing, a cute, small selection of new toys, some groovy locally made kids clothes and best of all, a little play area in the back (My husband kept our 9-month-old son happy in the back while I perused the shop for 15 minutes or so, which is the longest shopping trip we've had in a while...) The prices are very reasonable, and the guy working was SUPER friendly and helpful. We'll be back for sure; the only thing that would make it better is a gently-used toy section. I made the trek up to Sunset a quick bite, bump and all, and boy was I glad that I did. Roaming through this store, I found so many awesome deals. The staff was uber sweet and helpful. Love this place! Unlike most clothing stores, they have almost as good of a boys' selection as they do for girls. We found tons of organic infant baby clothes in great condition here. The salesperson was very nice. She asked us what kind of items we wanted and brought a huge basket from the back for us to sift through. At baby thrift stores, I usually only find one or two things if I am lucky, but here we found dozens of things and even had to make some difficult decisions about which items to put back since we had too many. It is small and a bit cramped, but the people here are pretty nice. I wish there were a comfy chair for pregnant ladies. Great toy and book selection too! read more

This is the best consignment store in the area for kids clothes! I love the selection and often walk out with clothes of a variety of sizes as I stock up for the next growth spurt of my son. My favorites were the Paulina Quintana sample sale line, while they lasted. However I enjoy all of the other high quality items that are often on sale at 25-30% of retail prices. They have great bargains at the end of the season as well. Like most consignment shops, it is is packed. However it is well organized, and the owner is so helpful in pulling out additional clothes for a specific size if she has more in the back. I love this place and will continue to shop there for my son and twins on the way! read more

I went in here yesterday to drop off some stuff and was so pleased to find the cutest stuff in there! The people who work there are soooooo sweet! They're just so warm and friendly, I just really got a good vibe when I walked in. (Heart eye emojis all over the place). I had a very pleasant experience with the girls today in the store. Since BLUEBIRD closed we needed a new consignment store close to my husband's work. This is a wonderful place to a shop and find deals. The shoes I spotted were a little dirty. I highly recommend this store. It was so much fun running across it as I drove by Sunset. I am very happy I made a U turn to go back and check it out. I had been eying a few ju ju be diaper bags online and was very indecisive on purchasing a brand new one since they're so expensive. I walked into the store hoping I would find something and the first thing I see hanging on the manikin is a ju ju be bag! I was so exited and even more to find out it was less than have the price of a new one, and it was in great condition and included accessories that otherwise are sold separately adding more to the expenses. And the cute clothes... It was also nice to see how welcoming they are to children, one of the employees set out a baby bouncer in a safe area for a mom who was shopping to put down her baby.
