This is specifically for Anjeza Dixon, but I've seen the results of other stylists, and their clients walk away looking amazing, too! Anodize seriously has a gift in hair styling (She also does makeup, which I'm sure she's incredible with, as well). I have naturally wavy and kinda frizzy hair, and everyone else I've ever gone to tries to smooth it out by adding all kinds of product to it and using a flat iron when it's totally unnecessary - Anjeza made it look and feel AMAZING without any crazy product and styling. As far as the color, I'll let the photo speak for itself, but I just gave her a little direction and she handled the rest! I looooooove her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone. I got kicked out from there because I'm picky. I'm not gonna mention her name, she is a sweet lady. But we had to do some editions after first time I went there and the reason was my hair came out too light for my skin color and she agreed with me. And third time because was not exactly what I wanted.... (completely separate visits in 2 years) She charged me extra last time. I gave her good tips every single time and I sent her an email once thanking her and telling her that I love my hair color, but she did not like the idea of me returning back to do some editions twice, although she charged for it because it was extra work and not planned. So she ignored my msgs to schedule a new apt, and finally replied and said she doesn't want to do my hair because it's hard to make me happy.... Review on Marcie: We all know how hard it is to find a good stylist when you move to a new city and how scary it can be to have someone cut your hair for the first time. Well, that wasn't the case today. Marcie really listened to what I wanted and with very long hair I'm always worried it's going to be chopped off (as with previous hair cuts). Marcie was very careful to show me how much she was cutting off. My eight year old daughter had her hair cut and styled and loves her new hair! Upon returning home her father thought this to be her best haircut ever! Another reason why I give her 5 stars is that my favorite part of hair cuts is the 'shampooing scalp massage'. There's very few things that feel as good as getting your scalp washed & massaged; There's nothing worse than getting a 'quick' wash. And I'd have to say this was the best and most lengthily scalp massage I've ever received! I have found my hair stylist after being in this city for a year without. I will definitely return. As for the Salon, very nice staff, clean shop, and nicely decorated. Saturday was 'kids' day so that was a treat for my daughter. The worst part of the highlight (aside from it being an awkward streak among a sea of brunette) is that she didn't even do the hair all the way to root, so I already have roots! i saw nikki and she did a great job on my highlights and lowlights. the all-over color underneath was a bit too brassy though. i am not sure how many times it takes to get that tone out but i was expecting something a bit darker. the cut was okay but it seemed like more needed to be trimmed off. it didnt feel healthier after the cut, which is my favorite part (feeling the blunt edges of my hair, ha). she also gave me some samples of pureology which i had never tried before. oh, there was some confusion at first regarding my appointment and the woman who assists dahill was very helpful and friendly. she went out of her way and had such a great attitude! she even offered me a bonbon and lemon water. the salon is very cute; i like the style a lot. read more

This review is very long overdue. For anybody that is searching Yelp and reading this because you have just had your hair ruined by an inexperienced hairdresser and are in desperate need of help, you have come to the right place, as that was my story. I moved to LA a year ago and the first salon that I chose nearby did not do a great job but were very nice and did their best to fix the color. The next time out I did a lot of research and found a salon, also nearby, but decided I could not afford it. The next place I found was in Studio City and seemed very hip and trendy, cutesy name, affordable. I won't name them because I think it is wrong to take business away from someone but suffice to say it was a DISASTER. I came home crying and called my husband who told me to just go ahead and call the place I thought I couldn't afford and see if they could squeeze me in and fix my hair. When I called Tamara Dahill Salon and told them my story they were super nice and said to come right over. As soon as I sat down with Hair Stylist Susie Mandel-Walsh I knew I was in good hands. The owner Tamara came over and consulted with Susie about how to fix my "Texas highlights." Susie went right to work on my hair even though she had to pick her son up in a few hours from school. Tamara has an incredible warm energy about her that exudes through out the salon. Two and a half hours and many, many sheets of aluminum foil later I was back looking like my old self. Lesson learned. Turns out color is Susie's area of expertise, lucky me. I have been back two times since. I cannot say enough about Tamara, Susie and the whole salon. Ummm called here today to find out the cost for a dry cut (no wash, no drying, just a haircut)...The lady who answered (Gemma) stated that they would "probably" charge me $70. Ummm what? $70 for a dry hair cut? What do you mean "probably?" So you want to charge me the same amount to simply cut my hair, that you would for a client coming in for a wash, dry, and cut? I normally go to Aveda back home, and have NEVER been charged more than $35 for a haircut. I'll definitely continue my search.... read more

This review is for Sophie. Three words: Best. Stylist. Ever! I've had Sophie cut and style my hair several times now. I am very particular about my hair cuts and I have to say that Sophie was one of the best I've had. She really took the time to do a perfect job, she is professional and LISTENED to what I wanted done and didn't just do her own thing like I've had some other stylists do. One huge bonus is when she shampoos and conditions your hair (twice, once in the beginning and again at the end), she massages your scalp and neck and its seriously relaxing. You should go to her for THAT alone. I've never had care like that before. I felt pampered, seriously. You can also tell that she really loves what she does and takes it seriously, but also makes the experience fun for you. She finally found a place she loves where the people are all very friendly, the salon is very clean, big and the lighting is perfect to actually see the end result. Nat is amazing with color, ombre, cuts, high lights, low lights etc ... she knows exactly what she is doing and time flies while she does. She always has the best stories and her laught is so contagious! It is almost like thereapy getting my hair done with her. She is always willing to fix any little thing you are not happy with (but that never happens). Right now I have an amazing dark red wine type of color and everyday I get a compliment on my hair. It fades out pretty quickly because it is red but Nat is worth coming in for a touch up and affordable to do so as often as I need it. I am so glad I did. I had a haircut blow dry with Mari today and I am so incredibly pleased. She was thoughtful and precise and incredibly professional. I was tremendously impressed with the complete visit from start to finish...and the beautiful result that was exactly what I asked for. I started going to Rachel S. while she was in school. She does a great job anywhere, but it's great to get a great cut at a good price in a nice salon now. In addition to great cuts and no pressure to add on extra services, I love that I can always get an appointment with Rachel even when I don't plan ahead very well. For today's cut I found a photo in a magazine of a shorter look I liked and we talked about how to make it work for my hair type and to frame my face well. The shape came out great and if it's anything like the other cuts I've gotten from Rachel it'll look great as it grows out whether I style it ever day or not. As a bonus, I can go back between cuts to have her trim my bangs. She also does facial waxing so I can get my brows taken care of at the same time. And if I ever want instantly long hair or fun color streaks, she's getting certified in extensions too. This haircut is the first time I EVER recall saying, "That's exactly what I wanted!" Why I chose Tamara: Two reasons: word of mouth, and because I researched her site and found she studied in London at Vidal Sasson back in the day. I love me some Vidal Sasson (RIP) and I think he's an amazing artist, so that capped it for me. The new cut: I am SO PLEASED with my new cut from Tamara. Indeed, she has given me a fantastic cut each time (like so good that weeks after the cut it still looks amazing, and is always easy to style - the hallmark of a good cut). But this time, this was the best! I went in armed with photos of exactly what I wanted, a few photos of what I didn't want, and a little blurb why about each one. I have felt for years and years that my cute bobs are *too* cute and not edgy enough, and I communicated that along with the photos. The result is something relevant, edgy and stylish. I finally feel like I have found the modern, cool cut for me - something I've been searching for for years. I went from a bob to short (think Ginnifer Goodwin short). I've had short hair many times and love it so much. This is probably my favorite short cut yet. Despite my protests about having my bangs "too long", Tamara left them on the long side and I finally see why! The cut is unreal and I will gladly go back in a few weeks for a (free) bang trim. A special shout-out to Amy, who gives THE BEST hair wash at the beginning. It feels like a scalp massage and it's practically worth the price of the cut right there. read more
