Followed my hairdresser Marisa here! Everyone at this salon is incredibly friendly and clearly very passionate about their work! Friendly and welcoming at the front desk. Space is clean and comfortable. Marisa has been doing my color and Brazilian blowouts for a couple of years now. I have been getting keratin treatments for the past 10 years and I can confidently say hers have held up the best in my hair. I went to humid Florida a week after my treatment and had NO frizz. If anything the top of my head as was FLAT and super straight! This held up for a decent number of washes (just make sure you use the right shampoo! I use Living Proof Perfect Hair Day). This salon just rescued my hair. I had previously went to a local Great Clips that unfortunately made my layers very choppy and stair-step like. I had emailed this salon pictures of my hair hoping by some miracle they could fix my hair. Kristin was very prompt in calling me and letting me know what they could do to help! Since the layers from great clips had been cut so short there was a possibility some of my overall length might need to be sacrificed. I told them if at all possible they could save my length that would be very appreciated. I had my hair done by Mitra and she immediately put me at ease with her skill and experience with hair! She beautifully fixed my hair AND she also saved my length and fixed my curtain bangs as well! Kristin recommended I come in with washed dry hair so I could get a dry hair cut to save a little money since I had just spent money at great clips. I thought that was very kind to recommend and offer that! It showed me they really care at this salon and wanted to make sure I had a better experience here. Kristin even came out and helped me find parking since there was a Christmas event that had closed Magnolia Blvd. That is above and beyond service and it was much appreciated! My hair stylist Mitra did an outstanding job on my hair. She told me she had been doing this for 17 years and her experience really shows in how she was able to fix my hair while still saving my overall length. She even styled my hair for me which she didn't have to do for free but she did! Every single person who helped me was so kind and so understanding with my situation. Highly recommend this salon! I was so excited to discover this salon when I moved into the neighborhood. Since my regular stylist is quite a drive away, was out of town, and there was a sign outside that said "Root Touch-ups $55", I decided to give it a try! I walked in and made an appointment with Robbie for the following day. When I arrived, I learned Robbie had been double booked, so her assistant started on my roots instead. He was more than halfway done before she got to me. I even asked if he could finish me since he had already done most of my head, but I was told that since I booked with Robbie, I was her client. Ok. Finally sitting in her chair, and she is giving me her "assessment," telling me she wasn't aware that my hair was quite so long and thick, and should therefore be paying more, but she is going to "do me a favor and only charge me $55". She also convinced me I needed a trim for an additional $60 (1/4" off, no blowing). I walked out feeling kinda ripped off, but she seemed (?) nice although she did have an underlying condescending attitude. I returned a few weeks later to take advantage of the $55 root touch-up that was still going on. Right out the gate, she started telling me the special was only for new customers, and no longer applied to me, especially since my hair was so long and thick. That sounded a little scammy to me since there is no disclaimer anywhere stating the price was a one-time deal. The manager verified it applied to ALL customers the ENTIRE time they ran the special. Robbie then began to complain to her that the stylists can't make money this way since the rental price of their chairs was so high. Whatever her discrepancy was, it should not have been discussed in front of a customer. Especially since I am sure this wasn't the 1st time she complained since the sign went up. This left a very bad taste in my mouth, and made me feel very uncomfortable. She continued complaining about the special after the manager left the area, so I decided to get my whole head done instead of getting just a touch-up. This way, I would look better, and she would be happier. Robbie proceeded to apply color to my roots. When I asked her why she wasn't applying color to the rest of my head, she said she would run the color through the rest of my hair a little longer before washing it out. Seriously? She insisted that was the proper way to do it. I was too exhausted to argue with her further. She said she would "Do me a favor" and charge me $55 if she didn't have to dry my hair. Her "process" made absolutely no difference in how my hair looked. I basically received a root touch-up. This bugged me for a couple of days before I decided to call the owner about what happened. I was passed around to a couple of people before I spoke to Kristen. She apologized and reassured me that Robbie was their best colorist and she would never try to scam a customer. She said she wanted to make it right and gave me Robbie's number to schedule another appointment. I told Robbie I was leaving town the next day and wouldn't be able to get to the salon until I got back. She said that was fine. When I returned the next month, I called to schedule. She told me she had no idea I would be gone so long, and that was a problem since my roots had probably grown way out. I told her overgrowth wasn't an issue since I had done my own roots two weeks ago. At this point I felt she was looking for excuses, telling me she would not be able to do overall color since too much time has passed. She did offer to do a free touch-up for me in time for an upcoming event of mine. She was trying to be accommodating, but our schedules weren't compatible, and I could not see her before my event. I told her I would do my own roots and then return to her in a couple of weeks for the promised touch up. When I called her back 2 1/2 weeks later, she never returned my phone call. In my vm, I explained the situation so she knew exactly who I was...just in case she didn't remember me...(but I know she did). I gave her ample time to get back to me, yet she completely and intentionally ghosted me, obviously over the situation. I don't understand all of the great reviews for this place. Was I was just unlucky enough to have had a bad experience with one stylist? Who spoke down to me and treated me as if I was some idiot off the street who had never stepped into a salon in my life? Over-explaining how things were done in salons and how color works? As if I didn't know anything about color, even though I've been getting my hair done (and doing it myself) for 20+ years, and who was also constantly trying to upsell me on product, processes, and of course, trying to avoid charging me the sale price Dylan Keith was running at the time? It is truly a shame because the salon is extremely close to my home, and the owner seems like a decent person. Still, I really don't appreciate the way Robbie treated me. The entire experience was enough to ensure I never return. read more
