I don't usually write reviews, but I felt this experience deserved one, it's actually my first Yelp review. I came in looking for Rolos chocolate, and while Dylan's Candy Bar has an amazing selection of candy, what really stood out was the customer service from Gabino. There were no rolos and I was pretty bummed out but he was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful to find an alternative to them and they were very good. It's rare to come across someone who goes out of their way to make customers feel welcome. I was so impressed that I asked him how I could give him credit for his excellent service. His response was that I didn't need to give him anything in return he was simply happy to help. That level of kindness and humility is hard to find these days. Pretending to stock the shelves to watch customers is super weird. Maybe they deal with a lot of theft or people touching the candy but at least greet the customers. The candy selection was pretty good but the sours are more sweet than sour. read more

I think it's funny that we are still trusting people not to be gross as businesses like this where people can just reach their hands in and put their fingers all over everything. I wish they had someone staffed on the floor to make sure people weren't acting a fool or maybe have a different way to dispense the candy, similar to how they have the jelly beans set up. That way the candy is dispensed from a special container and you can't reach inside. Anyway, they have a lot of options here and I like how they are organized by candy type, like there is a chocolate area, a sour area a jellybean area etc. All of the candy was pretty fresh tasting, nothing was stale. You gotta be careful here cause you can fill up your bag real quick and it will cost you a pretty penny! I was in line at the register and the man in front of me was just eating his candy straight out the bag before paying. That's what really got me thinking about how unmonitored this place is. I guess I could have eaten half my bag in line too and paid less if I was that kind of person. Overall, it's a fun place to visit maybe once or twice, but I do have concerns about the sanitation of it all. There was only one person working at the cash register so not sure what he could have done to check on the store while helping a line of customers. They do have some nice gift basket looking things if you have a candy lover in your life. read more

When I walked in, first of all there were 5-6 employees on the floor and no one greeted me. It was after 11am on a Sunday... then I saw an employee eating candy from a candy section with his hands. Then several of the candy boxes (where the public opens to get candy out of) were very dirty, not wiped down, just looked like they needed to be cleaned... Lastly, I noticed other candy stores have packets of loose candy so we aren't touching germs etc. Why haven't you guys stepped your game up? Are we still sharing handles, same candy ... Also, the music was WAY too loud...and the chocolate covered pretzels I bought were stale! read more

I love Dylan's Candy Bar and discovered this store when I was in New York in 2010. I love all the retro candy probably because it reminds me of my childhood. I definitely have a sweet tooth that I love gummy bears and jellybeans. They have the coolest candy here! I love all the merchandise as well. I think I have a Dylan's candy bar hat somewhere in my closet. I highly recommend stopping in and taking pictures but don't eat too much sugar because it's sooo bad for you yet so tasty! read more

With the exception of a quick visit to the Hudson Yards location last fall, I haven't set foot in here in well over ten years. What brought me back in was the fact I was craving-of all things-their chocolate bars that come in a large selection of dark, milk and a variety of other flavors. Greeted right away upon entering (although I entered with a couple other people so who knows who was actually being greeted), the staff here was great. Enthusiastic, and ready to help if needed. I pretty much zeroed in on what I wanted since it was right there in my eyeline, and I found my three favorites quickly. With no one in line, I was assisted immediately by another helpful employee at the register. He said they used to have another location in Hawaii somewhere, but since that one closed, the only ones that still exist is the one here at The Grove and the one in New York. Validated my ticket for 90 minutes, and I was on my way. Friendly guys working today which makes for a pleasant shopping experience. I already dug into the potato chip bar, and I'm looking forward to my other two, including my favorite peanut butter. Glad they're still open! read more

They provided excellent customer service from the beginning of our interaction with them until the end after check out. Dylan's Candy Bar carries all the different types of candies and chocolate bars you can think of. They even carry some of the classics that other stores don't sell. The store is set up according to the different types of candies and chocolate bars and brands they sell. Everything is beautifully displayed and decorated. First went to a Dylan's in NYC. Saw it in one of the Gossip Girl episodes. The candy store is AWESOME and you can get vintage candies as well as Dylan's branded candies, which are very good! This candy bar is just ok in my opinion. It might be great for "today" kids who only like the gummy type candy. I think I was expecting more options like the candy options at its sugar. They do have a nostalgic candy wall in the back but not too many options there either. The store is decorated beautifully which probably attracts the crowd because of the look and not the candy options. If I was a kid I would definitely want to go into the store. They also have a ice cream/shake bar near the back. I didn't see any vegan or plant base options. The service was just ok. There wasn't any staff walking the floor to help with questions. Overall my experience was not the best but I might still go back to the store because it's at the grove and that's my favorite place to be. read more

Dylan's Candy Bar is always fun, but what really made our visit amazing was the employee Hugo. He was genuinely the sweetest person ever so kind, patient, and super helpful. Really nice experience with Dylan. I was able to ask what was the most unique candies that stood out to her out of everything in stock. She gave me a store walk through and was detailed from each category of candy. I appreciate that because she dedicated energy and effort into doing that. I think ended up buying the birthday cake white chocolate balls, pink m&ms, the rainbow gummy rainbow Lego type blocks, and an assortment of old style taffies and international candies. They service ice cream flavors as well. I spent more than $25-30 so I got a free bag of cherry red bears. It was a great experience. I went to this store a few days ago. As corny as this may be it was super sweet! Adrian and Axcell were very attentive as they were going through aisles restocking he would offer my son and I samples! We ended up grabbing two pounds of chocolate gummy bears. Several gummy candies were hard and stale when we tried to fill our bag from the bulk candies..no thank you. We decided to get an assortment of chocolate covered nuts from the bulk section, which was a mistake. We should have known when the gummies were stale. They have a mean selections of candies ranging from your childhood favorites to the newer and more elaborate flavors. This place is a parent's worst nightmare. The décor is super bright and inviting. Located just between the Grove and Farmer's market. You'll likely be walking right by it on your next visit with your kid lol. Anyway, I went in with my family who were visiting from out of town. They all ended up buying something.
