Richmond's Air - James and his crew after installing new unit!

    Richmond's Air

I rarely write reviews, but this situation is a must. Richmond Air installed my new HVAC for my…read moregarage recently and had the best price for the product and skilled install which is critical for performance. As a matter of fact there was a misunderstanding in the quote as I thought it included new ducts, but it did not. But James replaced for free due to the misunderstanding on my part. He did not have to do that because it was my mistake in communication. Prior to that I had 2 other hvac systems installed by another company. So I called that company that did the install to repair one. Within hours of repairing one hvac, the other failed. So I had to wait over the weekend for them to return to fix the hvac and on Monday my schedule. Then I decided to use Richmond Air for the repair. I only would be at my house from 8:30 to 10am due to a departing flight. I called Richmond Air at 7:30 AM on Monday to see if they could send someone to my house within the hour. The owner, James showed up with a staff member. So the other company's staff accidentally let out my Freon. James called the company and explained the mistake for me and arranged for them to replace my Freon for free. That is honestly and great customer service. He could have replaced the Freon and charged me, which is expensive and let me figure out the situation with the other company. So that deserves my business and yours. Trustworthy, competence and great pricing. I hope this review helps you select Richmond Air. I am confident you will be happy with the work and you will feel that you have gotten great value for the service.

Working with Stephanie via Yelp was super easy and fast responses. Thank you, Stephanie. Shawn came out, very professional, knowledgeable, and wasn't looking to make a quick buck and leave. Provided a lot of information for me and was willing to explain my situation as well as provide some good info to bring back to my builder to save money. I don't know any company that is looking out for the little man especially during this economy. Conley Cooling and Heating will be my HVAC company I use for now on and will be suggesting them to my family and friends. Trust me, don't go to big names companies (Moore/Abacus) and so on. Conley is here to help and treat you like family. My condensation lines run across my attic to master bedroom sinks and cause ton of blocks and issues. Shawn was able to provide me estimate and information on terminating it outside instead of a p-trap in the sink which most builders are doing now. Thanks again Shawn (and Stephanie) and will be calling back for my next project!

Was honest in what can be improved upon and what needed to be replaced. Their prices are quite fair, would even go as far as to say good bang for the bucks. Look forward to having him optimize my HVAC system without having to replace the whole system. Quality service with fair pricing.

Ed took the time to explain in detail what the issues were and options for repairs. Ultimately, we elected to replace our system. For now, and in light of the challenges we faced prior to Ed's intercession, we will update our review from one to three stars. Provided there are no issues with the new system install and performance, we will provide a further update within the next year. Ed, we truly do appreciate your personal engagement. So long as there are no recurrences of the recent issues, we would be very happy to continue using All Star for all of our HVAC needs.

He ensured that the warranty was used for part of the cost. The biggest issue was communication. By the time we got the HVAC fixed, it had been a week without either A/C or heating. Part of that was due to it being across a weekend and leading into the Thanksgiving holiday. I asked that we be kept informed of progress as parts might need to be ordered and we needed to plan for alternatives if the systems could not be repaired before Thanksgiving. Having heard nothing on Monday morning I called for a status. Yep, parts needed to be ordered. No ETA, so I again asked to be informed as things progressed. No information shared so called on Tuesday. I got the answering service and they promised to have someone call me asap with an update. That never happened. I checked my email that evening at about 7pm to discover that All Star had emailed a cost estimate. I approved that, assuming this might trigger a service call to finish the repair. I finally got a text from the service tech on Wednesday morning at noon that he was on his way. We were on our way out the door as we had changed plans for Thanksgiving to visit rather than be visited. So, we delayed our plans to accommodate the service tech. From my perspective, this is not the way service should be provided.
