All Star was responsive, including their receptionist and answering service people. The tech was a bit terse but communicated well. He ensured that the warranty was used for part of the cost. The biggest issue was communication. By the time we got the HVAC fixed, it had been a week without either A/C or heating. Part of that was due to it being across a weekend and leading into the Thanksgiving holiday. I asked that we be kept informed of progress as parts might need to be ordered and we needed to plan for alternatives if the systems could not be repaired before Thanksgiving. Having heard nothing on Monday morning I called for a status. Yep, parts needed to be ordered. No ETA, so I again asked to be informed as things progressed. No information shared so called on Tuesday. I got the answering service and they promised to have someone call me asap with an update. That never happened. I checked my email that evening at about 7pm to discover that All Star had emailed a cost estimate. I approved that, assuming this might trigger a service call to finish the repair. I finally got a text from the service tech on Wednesday morning at noon that he was on his way. We were on our way out the door as we had changed plans for Thanksgiving to visit rather than be visited. So, we delayed our plans to accommodate the service tech. From my perspective, this is not the way service should be provided. read more

Called All Star because my air conditioner stop working properly. Called on Saturday talked to the receptionist and they were able to fit me in. The technician Bryne came and looked at my unit. Update as of 7/18/23- Once again I put AC system stopped working and the best company was out the same day to diagnose the issue. After trying several things our fan blade was still acting up. So I made the awesome technician call it quits for the day (at least at my house) as he had one more service call to head to. They came out the next day and fixed the issue. Happy customers year after year. We have the annual service package so we see them twice a year. They also do their best to send the same person out who already "knows" you and remembers your previous service/check up visits. Thanks Ed and your staff for always going above and beyond!! Update as of 7/23/19- This is not really the truck you want to see in your driveway but Once again this company does it again for us in a pinch after hours!!! Today we got home and the house was 81. I called and within 5-10 minutes Chris, one of the owners called to come see what our issue was! He fixed our problems and we are thankful it's cool again! All Star Air Conditioning is an awesome family run and local small business. The owners themselves follow up and check out all work completed by their employees before they expect any customer to make a payment. If the job wasn't done to their 100% liking then they do not expect a payment until it's correct. All of the employees I've met have been very efficient and personable and have done the job correctly the first time. I have already referred the company out multiple times and each customer has been pleased with the prompt assistance and with our lovely Houston/Cypress weather we need that. We are very disappointed in the way All Star AC & Heating serviced us over the past 15 months. I'm embarrassed to say how much money we've spent with them but in short, were taken advantage of. My husband and I are not HVAC experts which was why we called "the professionals." Every time a new crew came (many were inexperienced) they "couldn't believe what the last crew did." Issues with our ducts were withheld from us until almost a year after working with this company, only to be told they could fix it for another $7,000. Phrases like "the first tech probably had tunnel vision in diagnosing your issues" and "the work done was not optimal" were actually said to us. My husband and I work hard for our money and learned a costly lesson in working with All Star. This is not a company I would ever hire again or recommend to others. read more

I've been having issues with a new AC unit that was installed in 2020 - it has never seemed to work right and always seemed to struggle to hit the thermostat temperature if it managed it at all. I've tried having several local HVAC repair companies take a look and they all suggested and tried minor fixes that only bandaid the issue for a few weeks at best. Fast forward to this summer and the AC unit seems to totally die. The thermostat temperature was up in the 80's with the summer Houston heat. I call All Star and immediately get a response... I have a technician out the next day to evaluate the situation. The estimator was quick and very effective. He called me and laid out three issues he saw as critical and contributing to the situation. For the first time, someone seems to have identified a root issue that would require more than minor maintenance. The estimate for the work was high but very equitable given the scope of what was being torn out and replaced. Technicians came by the day after to perform the work and they were very professional, very methodical, and the quality speaks for itself. I'm writing this a day after and the house is finally cool again. Even in the 106 degree summer heat, the AC is cooling the house down to the thermostat setting. I wish I would have called All Star years ago. I'll definitely be calling them back for future maintenance. Highly recommend you give them a try. read more

I will continue to use All star A/C for all of my A/C & Heating needs. After my AC person died, I was in need of a new AC person. I have a unique situation where I have a package unit on the second story of my house. Lots of AC people won't go on the second story, but All Star did. The guys that were sent out were extremely nice and very knowledgeable. They took time to really look at the system and to see if it was running correctly and looked at my gas fittings to make sure they were tight and not leaking. read more

We just got our electricity back after a two-day power outage and unfortunately our 4-zone unit wasn't blowing air. I tried the on-line DIY hacks, but none worked. I reached out to a few service providers who worked for me before and didn't get a response. All Star responded within 15 minutes and showed up at the beginning of the window they gave me. One of their technicians came for the yearly check up of t he system and said everything is okay. IT WAS NOT. I had to call a different company to fix the problem. Ask your other owner I think her name is Sara, I explained it to her I'm more details. It happened in 2021 The one who wanted to sell me dampers (which I had them from the time I bought the house 1998) was Trenton. I don't want anything. This company was amazing. I will call them every time I have a need. I got an appointment the next day for my yearly a/c tune-up. Price was in the middle of the range, and the service was honest and excellent. My Technician was thorough in his check-up, asking about history of the unit. He explained how all the parts worked together, which parts were perfect and which parts to watch for. When he left, I felt very knowledgeable about my a/c and what to watch out for. I even signed up for the annual program which I think has great benefits. I was given estimates on repairs for the future, which helps me plan. Overall, a superior job read more

Update to owner's response: Ed, thank you for your response. Again, I apologize for the critical review however it is an accurate reflection of the service I received. I have had your tech, Brian, out to my house twice. Each time, I have paid a $59.99 service call. The first visit was for a mini split leaking condensation and I ended up doing 50% of the labor myself taking apart the unit and helping Brian clean the coils and drain pan. I think it's unfair to insinuate that troubleshooting justifies the quote as well since nothing was performed short of plugging/unplugging - certainly nothing that involved specialist tools or techniques. Many techs carry with them equipment to test variable speed output or at the very least test resistance across the motor winding which was also not done. Although I can respect your decision to only use OEM parts which justifies the price difference between an end cap only versus the motor with end cap, I was still quoted $700 of labor for unbolting three bolts and removing pulling the motor. I even explained to Brian that $700 of labor was unreasonable for this 10 minute job as we were both well aware of how easy it is to pull my motor and replace. If I was a less knowing consumer, I would have easily gotten ripped off paying the equivalent of $4200/hr for labor. read more

From my initial virtual (message) contact, through to the service visit, this company was top-notch. Communication was quick, responsive, and clear. I was able to schedule my HVAC service for the next day and felt that the level of service vs. cost was perfectly in line with my expectations. The gentlemen who came to perform the service were very friendly (without being chatty or distracting). They were from all I could gather thorough and offered pointers, suggestions, and tips that made sense and seemed to be in the best interest of our systems health and our own health (I.E. whole house UV). They did not seem impatient with all my questions and were happy to re-explain items of specific technical complexity in a way that made sense. The estimate while not inexpensive also felt reasonable for having to purchase two of everything (upstairs HVAC and downstairs HVAC, thanks to TX weather). I didn't feel pressured or pressed to buy something today, nor did I feel like the team who came were in a hurry to get out of here to the next job. Overall I highly recommend All-Star for at a minimum the HVAC maintenance service! Can't speak about any installation or repair work, however, based on what I did experience today, I think my opinion would remain the same. Definitely spot on. read more

Big thanks to Trenton, Anne, and Co. for taking care of me. I was having issues with my previous A/C repairman who was trying to sell me a whole new unit to avoid having to do warranty work. I got tired of being given the run around and they did a fantastic job re-installing the sagging plenum and re-brazing the leaking refrigerant line, and the current unit is working without issue. Again, I can't thank them enough for not taking advantage of me, as I was pretty desperate to fix this after living 2 weeks inside my 85 degree home and I'm so glad I asked them to come out and give me a second opinion. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Let me first state how incredibly professional the front office is. Anne does a wonderful job understanding and listening to the situation. Immediately, Anne stated that she wanted Ed to come to the house and look at my problem after getting inadequate service from another company. Ed comes to the house, very professional. He looks at the AC unit on the roof and the one in the attic. Lets me know that the unit on the roof needs to have certain parts replaced and other essentials to make sure the lower half of the house does not have any issues cooling. The price to fix everything was under what the previous AC company stated. I also told him about the service contract that was purchased from the other company. All Star AC is fantastic! My AC stopped working on a Saturday night in August. The temperature in my home reached 88 degrees and there was no heat reprieve in site. I contacted several AC companies via the Yelp app and only All Star AC was willing to come out on a Sunday to diagnosis and fix my issue. The technician was at my home in less than an hour after my conversation with dispatch and less than another hour after that, my AC was fully restored. All Star exhibited first class service and the their technician was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Allstar is my entire family's go-to air conditioning company! We've used them to inspect houses before we purchased, and they saved us from buying houses with lots of issues multiple times. They fixed our AC promptly after we flooded after Hurricane Harvey so we could dry it out and avoid mold. On a very hot day in June, when I was trapped at home with a toddler and my AC wasn't cooling, they showed up within hours of my call. They showed up on the same day, diagnosed and replaced the fan quickly. When I have had roof leaks, they came to see if it was something involving my air conditioning. I always know they are telling me the honest truth and not going to upcharge me on things like some of the bigger named companies have tried to do! Told them upfront that I needed to flush my lines. Got a response saying that it would cost $139. Said sign me up. Apparently that is just a diagnostic fee and then never said there would be more charges on top of that. Charged $577 for flushing my lines with the "diagnostic fee". Ridiculous. They wanted to up it to $1000 to add two 3/4 ball valves. What a joke. The tech was nice and respectful. Not his fault, he was just doing his job read more
