I placed my order with DWS on February 5, 2025, for slide work on an M&P Shield .40, including a slide cut, front serrations, and a Cerakote finish. I received my completed slide on June 10, 2025. Throughout the process, I reached out for updates regularly--particularly after week 8. The DWS team was generally responsive, typically replying the same day or the next, although I occasionally had to follow up when a response was delayed. By around week 11, I began to grow a bit impatient with the extended turnaround, but I recognize there were a few unavoidable issues on their end, such as a broken tap that had to be carefully removed from the slide. In hindsight, I should have kept in mind that DWS is a small operation handling a high volume of custom orders, which naturally affects lead times. That said, once I received the final product, I can confidently say it was well worth the wait. The quality of the work is outstanding. The slide fits my red dot perfectly with zero play, and the team also removed the chamber indicator, which was a great bonus. After a generous application of oil and a few dozen cycles to work it in, the slide is now functioning flawlessly and ready for the range. I had read numerous reviews about DWS and saw examples of their excellent craftsmanship before committing, so I accepted the potential for delays. If you're someone who values quality and can be patient with the timeline, I highly recommend their services. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS. The business owner, Pedro Gonzalez, has zero integrity. The posted lead time for the optics cut and cerakote I paid for is 1-4 weeks. Promise after promise that it would be finished and shipped off within the next day or two. More than 8 weeks later, after having to threaten to take him to small claims, I have my slide back with the work unfinished. I now have to pay to someone else to finish his job. His business license is suspended by the Franchise Tax Board, he has an 'F' rating with the BBB, and a simple Google search will lead you to complaint after complaint about his deceptive business practices. We are now at the 11 month for the warranty work. It took them over a year and three months the first time to get my slide back. I reached out to Pedro 4 days ago and informed I was loosing my patience and had warned him I would take legal action if I don't get this resolved ASAP. There is some serious issues with this business. The biggest red flag is that they don't offer refunds. You are at their mercy and control and can't do anything about it while he takes and profits off your hard earned money. Another word of advice, don't send your slide if this is your CCW weapon, it will take months or a year before you get it back. Pedro, you said on Monday it shipping out which I think you lied again because it's Saturday April 5, 2025 and I haven't received it nor got an USPS email confirmation with tracking information. Either you refund my money and replace my slide with a stock one or I take legal action. I'm sick of your games and lies. At this point I'm convinced that I might never receive what I have paid for in May of 2024. Just since July of this year Pedro has told me he would ship the slide and the optic (since those have supposedly been completed and ready to ship for about 8 months now) 4 times. The only thing he has done was create a shipping label, probably just to get me of his back. But once again he has made excuse after excuse and can't even give me a phone call to explain why it's taken him so long again. Worst experience ever, and what's worse is that he has sales like on 4th of July, Labor Day, etc.. knowing he hasn't even completed my order yet. But why would he care I've already paid him so he just cares about getting paid from the next person. Last Friday, April 12, I dropped off the slide for my Glock 43X at Dynamic Weapons Solutions for a fresh cerakote. My slide is equipped with a Holosun 507 K red dot sight and suppressor height sights. They sent me periodic emails advising me on the progress of my order throughout the week. Today, April 19, I received an email from them advising me that my slide was ready for pick up. Picked up my slide and it came out fantastic!!! It looks beautiful and it only took a week!!! Customer service was outstanding! Pedro and Sonia are awesome! They are honest, hard working people who have great integrity and take pride in their work. We all understand that good work takes time, however Dynamid Weapon Solution takes too much time and doesn't deliver good work. Pedro the owner promised a specific timeline for my work to be complete and overshot it by 6 months!!!! Every time I would call to speak with him, his mother would give me some excuse as to why he could not take the call. My slide took nearly 8 months to complete and it was a simple slide cut, RDS cut and DLC. Not to mention I paid extra for the DLC finish and later came to find out it was in fact just cerakote that they did. Robbery! Do NOT give this place your money. Dear sweet baby Jesus, where to begin. First off, I'll say that I am an HB local, which is the only reason I chose this shop. I was aware of the reputation of DWS before going in but elected to give them a shot anyhow as many times online reviews can be misleading, one sided or just complaints. Meeting Pedro in person was reassuring. He seemed knowledgeable, eager to help and gave direction and feedback on my gun mod requests. I opted for slide cuts, coating, optics, light and expedited service. Pedro reassured me that service, parts and delivery (pick up) would be completed by the end of the following week. I paid in full, just over $1,000, and left my slide. Pedro even mentioned the "untrue" negative reviews online from people that were just "impatient" and stated he was a "one-man" shop. Unfortunately, I have to report that all of the negative feedback is 100% correct. What a nightmare. I count myself as fortunate as I have my slide back finally, and my "expedited" service was completed considerably sooner than most. I had the ability to drop in or swing by the shop, and ran into a few other customers on my visits, always with the same story, "waiting forever" and "received (blank) excuse from Pedro". Hearing how far back they had dropped their stuff off was wild. It was June and they stated they had dropped off last year! I dropped off on 5/16/25. Everything is complete as of today, 7/2/25. This probably is the most expedited that they do, even though I was initially told 1 week. Every week since the missed delivery date I reached out to Pedro for an update. I received excuse after excuse. Everything from delayed parts, family trips and most recently, a car accident and hospital stay. The best one was when he told me that my slide cuts and paint were completed and he was just waiting on parts delivery and that he would send me a picture (6/04/25). No picture was ever received. Only to be told when I dropped in that the slide was cut and prepped for paint (not painted), while parts were still on order (6/06/25). I should mention that parts (holosun light and optic 507 comp-green) are readily available from Amazon with next-day delivery. I finally was able to pick up the slide (cut and coated) 6/11/25. It was then a flurry of follow up and delays, requests for refund on non-delivered parts, excuses, offers to provide additional services (yeah right!) and offers of supplement parts. Ultimately, I agreed to meet with Pedro 7/1/25 for parts delivery and install. When I showed up for our scheduled meet time, 2pm, Pedro was at Harbor Freight, so another person at his shop called him and he said to drop off my gun and pick up tomorrow (today). Not what we discussed, but I just wanted to get this done, so I left my gun. When I showed up to pick up today, nothing had been done, but Pedro advised he would take care of it now. Came back an hour later for pick up. Everything looked fine, pedro advised that he zero'd the optic (Holosun states that optics arrive zero'd), which I'll test out at the range and with my barrel laser since I really don't trust him. Pedro also advised that refund on price difference on optic and refund on light (purchased off Amazon instead) would take 10-12 days. I smiled, shook his hand and left. I already Issued a dispute on my credit card for the difference between payment and parts received as I am not waiting for more excuses from Pedro. I honestly would have left everything alone, I'm not a review writer and I'm generally an easy going guy; however, the label on my gun case when I picked up my order today included the word "b1tch" written on it. Haha. Very professional. In the end, I'm Just glad to be done with this company and Pedro's excuses. I feel bad for everyone who doesn't have the ability to drop in like I did, you'll likely be waiting much longer. I'll take my slide and the name-calling and count myself lucky to be done with DWS and Pedro. The TLDR here, shop somewhere else. If you do make the mistake of purchasing something from them, you won't see your property again for a long, long time. If you are able to drop in for status, you'll be labeled a b1tch. Haha! The process began somewhat shaky however, Pedro came through in the clutch once I called. After my slide cut order, Communication must have been lost in translation because I never received notification of the process/address to continue the process, I watched the video on the website which mentions "you will receive an email regarding the process" so I sat around and waited but it never arrived. Eventually, I called and I was transferred to Pedro, from there, his communication was phenomenal, he sent a text in response with additional upsell options, Pedro is extremely hands on and even took the time to Facetime me for a minor hiccup. Most importantly, the quality of the work was amazing and precise. Nov 2020 Since I live nearby, I dropped off my serialized slide and my serialized barrel. They were returned to me on February 26, 2021. discovered that my slide had been replaced with a precut slide since all of my serial numbers were missing and the precut slide's physical construction did not match that of my other stock Glock 19. Additionally, the barrel was changed when it shouldn't have been. I only wanted the tin hue of the coating. My gun's serial number is currently only on my lower now. They won't return my serialized components to me. There is not to be a slide swap, according to the notes that were handwritten on the receipts. It also states that hey are to coat the clients barrel as you can see in my photos. . I have pictures of every document. They start by saying, "Even if the barrel was switched out, I got a better, higher-quality barrel. I don't think so. I wanted to maintain every component with a serial number. They simply do what they want without asking permission before changing any elements. On the same day in November 2020, I also bought basepads that were coated to match my barrel. My base pads arrived on July 26, 21--eight months later. I called so many times only to get them, but I just got excuses. I have so many emails.  The problem was never solved, and it still isn't. If my serial number ever comes back to bother me because someone else used it to commit a crime, I'll pledge I'll bring the hammer down. I'll need to hire some attorneys. I'm sure the business will get in touch with me once again and claim to be able to fix the problems, but if you read online evaluations, including YouTube videos, you'll see that many other people have encountered the same problems and others that I didn't. They constantly make an excuse, and then months pass before a problem is finally resolved, only to discover that shortcuts were once more taken, causing us to develop new problems as a result of attempting to address the previous ones. When I arrived i was greeted by a guy that looks homeless. His hair was all over the place and he looked like he just woke up. Very unprofessional. My slide was cut but they didn't cerakote it! I asked why and was told you wanted to pick it up and we didn't have time to finish it! He said he could keep the slide and cerakote it. Instead of cerakote the guy took a gun blue pen and put a thin layer of blue on the exposed cut. He said i blued it, thats actually more expensive than cerakote! What??? More lies and shitty work. Why tell me that the slide is done when it wasnt? I took my slide and got outta there! Seriously, what a bunch of ass clowns! I told the homeless looking guy that I will be disputing the entire charge to my card. He asked why. I said I paid double for 24 hour turn around and it's been 7 days. Notice how Pedro said the slight delay was caused by a front sight? Guess what?! It was never in installed to begin with. Now, as of today it's still not done?! Pedro continues to say he'll call or get me the slide yada yada.. Yes, I filed a chargeback and I had to repay again because I thought the work would be done cause they needed to do is hand fit a front sight and the optic. Why wasn't all this done to begin with is beyond me. Again, still waiting since my slide was sent in back in March. update 1/14/2026. Received the slide end of 2024 but had to send my slide back because of fitting issue january 2025. Never received back or heard from them. went to the actual location in may 2025. when i went to the location the owner pedro said he would look for it and said if he couldn't find it he would give me one of his personal glock 17 slides. gave him the day to find it came back next morning to find out he did not find my original slide and said he was going to send me his personal slide. i wanted to leave with it before making the drive back but when i went to collect it from his shop he said he "put in the oven." i knew he was just bs and was never gonna give me slide so i left without a slide or making a scene. kept contacting him at least once a month until october november ish i asked where my slide is at and he said he was going to make a fresh one. the amount of bullshit i kept taking from them was too much so i ether wanted a slide they could ship out the next day or a refund. eventually settled on a glock 19 slide instead of a 17 that should've been sent the next day. bugged them for 2 weeks straight never got jack and now in january 2026 ordered originally in june 2024 with no slide in sight. not sure what kinda of company this guy is running but honestly should've contacted better business bureau a lot earlier. also since working for a gun store now and talking to different slide cutting services in the industry worst company to give your money in the gun industry. read more

November 3rd, 2 years after my original order I went to DWS in person and was told Pedro had given the sight that had came in for me to someone else. He then offered to refund me my money. He said it would get to me in 10-12 business days and sent me an email confirming. Here we are 4 months later. No money refunded. The precision of their work, attention to detail of their QC, and the follow through of an order is second to none. Although the work looks really good, I do not baby or treat my pistols as "Safe Queens". My pistols are EDC's and see a lot of training and range time outside of an indoor range. I have over a few thousands of rounds on my slides with no signs of premature failure or fatigue on the cut or cerakote. 10/10 would recommend DWS. There may be less expensive Supply shops nearby, but they do not have the precision or quality that Dynamic Weapons Solutions work will consistently deliver. read more

Heard about DWS from my cousin after he got a couple optic cuts from them. After visiting their website & following them on IG, I decided to take the plunge myself and send them my slide. They're communication throughout the whole process was great and in my experience mine took about 4 weeks. The wait was absolutely worth it, the optic cut tolerance alone is great, no wiggle room with the screws not being installed. The cuts are nice and grippy but not too aggressive. The cerakote is nice and even all around. I threw in some Trijicon suppressor height sights in a bag and taped it to the slide when I sent it in, and they installed it for me free of charge and even sent the plastic stock Glock irons. Not to mention the competitive pricing they have, I couldn't be happier with my slide, I've kept it out of the safe since I got it just to admire it. I ordered a hybrid slide and optic in early February with them initially giving me a lead time of 4-6 weeks, which is a long time to begin with but I understand the supply chain is a bit messed up. After the 6 weeks passed, they stopped responding to emails. 4 weeks later and almost 7-8 emails and multiple calls, they responded saying it was now 10-12 weeks. I STILL have not gotten my order and the only responses I've gotten are "it didnt pass inspection, needs to be redone" and that was almost 3 weeks ago. Do NOT use these guys. Not sure if I'm ever going to get my order. Lack of communication and honestly very rude every time i reach out. I used to be a huge fan of this company. There was some company imperfections but the straw that broke the camels back was when I had dropped a slide off and was told it was a 10 day turn around and received it half a year later with a missing RMR optic. Pedro, the owner is very good at making sales rather than deadlines so be aware when dropping stuff off here. I dropped the slide off early summer of 23 and received it sometime later after multiple follow up attempts. I then questioned where my RMR optic went and was told I never dropped it off and that they don't take in customers optics (mind you I had some work done previously and left my optic there). I purchased a brand new Trijicon RMR and put my Glock 17 slide in the Trijicon RMR case and gave it to one of his employees in person. For months I then messaged him via instagram and called the shop and he said he would check in to see if he found it or had any different optics to replace mine with. For months and months I got useless replies about him going to "check in the am" "message me tomorrow" " I ordered one and holosun is back ordered" mind you I had already ordered a new optic and placed it on my EDC because of the run around he has given me. There was also messages in our chat that stated I had my optic there when he still had my slide as I was inquiring about additional work being done to another one of my firearms while we were still within the 10 day turn around time he promised. I stopped trying to reach out because it was insane to me how this staple of the gun community can blow off a loyal customer who is also a first responder. I cannot continue to support this company and I forewarn anyone who I hear ever mention thinking about heading here. I last messaged him in August of 2024 and he no longer responds. I felt I was lied to on multiple occasions, told there were delays in receiving a lesser valued optic than what I left him because of backorder. True to their word on the turn around time and even installed my Ameriglo Suppressor Height Sights and Trijicon SRO free of charge. Even threw in some swag. This place is hit or miss. I recently had work done to two pistols. Took them in together. Pistol number one turned out AWESOME. Took a while to get done, but it got done and I LOVE it. Second pistol took way longer. Communications were not the best. When I FINALLY got it back... Long story short, I had to replace the entire slide. In my defense... Brought in my CZ to get an upgrade. They had great customer service and the result was better than my expectation. I had some slide, optic and cerakote work done. As you can see, they knocked it out of the park. I waited to get my new grips installed before I posted pics and I'm super happy with the work they did. I always like to patronize the small gun guy (especially in CA) and they did not disappoint. I'll be back to get some more work done on a couple of my other firearms. Worst customer service ever- you simply cannot reach anyone by phone or E-mail. I do appreciate Sonia giving me her personal cell, but I still can't get a straight answer. I dropped my G21 off in early November and was told 6 weeks for slide work, stippling, co-witnessing new sights, and RMR cut. Here we are 12 weeks later and can't get a clear answer as to when I will get my pistol back. All I have been told several times now is that their stippler is behind. If they're that behind, get a new stippler and/or don't promise 6 weeks. They came recommended by Duncan's Gun Works in San Marcos. Can't wait to stop in and tell them never to recommend this place again. I let Sonia know that I want my pistol back on Friday as of yesterday, stippling or anything else finished or not with a refund to match. Not sure what the next step is.
