I adore this place! it is comfy, cozy, and friendly all year around. The service is always wonderful! The shop is so tiny and cute. There is indoor seating and a back patio that looks up at the mountains. It is so relaxing to go and sit in either place, because inside it's homey and safe, outside its beautiful and refreshing. The coffee is delicious! And strong! (hence the name I suppose) There are several drink options and the baristas make everything to perfection. We LOVE Dynamite Coffee! It is one of the best roasters up in these here mountains. The coffee is full bodied and so rich in flavor. This cute little place is located in an old house that has been transformed into a cozy, light filled coffee indulging joint. They not only make you a delicious cup of whatever you're addicted to but they also sell their coffee by the pound and will grind it for you if you choose. There was a meager selection of baked goods and fresh fruit for snacking. Service was cordial but not overly friendly or welcoming. We are and will remain loyal Dynamite coffee fans! read more

Stopped in to grab a pound of Sumatra (ground for pourover) and it turned out great. It was a little more coarse than I usually get elsewhere but after slightly adjusting the amount of grounds it made a great cup of coffee. Stopped in on a Sunday morning for coffee. Barista was super friendly. We had our dog (mini dachshund) in a bag). Good coffee. Nice atmosphere, a police officer was getting coffee and put some Led Zeppelin on vinyl (had quite a collection of vinyl) before leaving. Pretty chill. read more

Espresso - 8/10 - Nice pull. Nice flavor. Could be smoother but still not a bad shot. Coffee - 9/10 - Get the clever dropper. GET THE CLEVER DRIPPER! There now I'm yelling. Had the sidamo. By far my favorite place to stop for coffee or a latte. The coffee is amazing and the and I love the lattes. This review isn't about the great coffee or the competence of the people who work there; it's about how damn unfriendly the staff is that does work there! I stop 2-3 times a week and almost all of the morning staff is just unfriendly. I try to smile, be polite, and engage whoever is working, but they barely respond and never with a smile! I leave $1.00 tip every time in the tip jar and they don't even say thank you, and yes they saw me put the tip in the jar. There is one newly hired young lady who is always friendly, another who has been there for a while who is hit or miss, but the rest appear to be miserable. I will definitely keep going back for the coffee, but my days of tipping these ungracious and unfriendly employees are over. Being moody, disengaged and unfriendly is a Choice. Leave your crap at home! If you're going to do a job, do it well and be proud of the work you do; it might lead to something amazing. BC read more

Honestly, truly, Dynamite has the best coffee I have tasted in my life. I don't know what I can say that hasn't been said already but they are absolutely the best. I would drive an hour just to get their beans and that's not an exaggeration. Besides the excellent coffee, the atmosphere is cozy and homely, and as popular as it is I've never had trouble finding a parking spot. The single drawback is that they don't have wifi there... but the coffee is more than worth it. If you haven't tried this place yet you NEED to check it out. This is a hard review to write - I love the coffee at Dynamite Roasting, but it can be hit or miss regarding the friendliness there. The staff is competent yet can be detached. Most of all, the younger clientele can be annoying. I have had experiences where I am standing right by the door and am carrying a lot of drinks and the customer standing right next to me can't be bothered to open the door. I have also had the experience of getting nasty looks from customers who take over tables with their laptops and act as if I am interrupting their workspace. Love it when we unexpectedly find such a cool place when we weren't looking for it! Headed out of Swannanoa after a short visit, we drove past the sign that said "POW! Coffee Now!" Well, we were compelled to turn around and get us some coffee. The owner behind the counter took my order for an americano, and was very accommodating with my specific request. (I'm very picky about my coffee). The place is small, but bright, and clean. Love the simplicity of a few upholstered chairs and (maybe) a couch. (Can't remember exactly). There is a record player and a huge record collection. Were we not on a schedule, we would have stayed and enjoyed our (very well made) coffees in their "living room". While we were there, met Brian Brace Fine Furniture Maker whose studio is across the street. Check out his beautiful works! Sad that we don't have places like these closer to home. read more

Excellent coffee but exceedingly rude customer service. My husband enjoyed his coffee a lot and we bought a pound of beans to go, but my chai tea was so spicy that it burned my tongue to drink it. I threw it away after 3 sips. I wanted to ask for another drink, but the young woman taking orders was extremely rude and I didn't want to experience her attitude again.
