Man, I took way too long to get sushi here. I almost didn't stop here tonight as I thought I was "too hungry for sushi to be filling". If not for the constant persuading by a little crab rangoon connoisseur who just HAD to have crab rangoon come hell or high water, I probably would have skipped this little gem yet again. The outside looks rather unspectacular, but once you get inside it is a nice space; a little on the smaller side, but well laid out. Having read the recommendations in Yelp prior to ordering, I knew to get the hot and sour soup, which is unlike any I've ever had before. Different but delicious. Ordered my copilot a small appetizer plate which came with the also-recommended rangoons (didn't get to try them but saw the filling which had ACTUAL MEAT and wasn't just cream cheese filling) but did get to have some of the spring rolls which were crisp and delicious and some sweet potato tempura french fry like things which were good. The sushi I ordered was awesome though... A lot of subpar sushi places screw up the rice, which is either not sticky so it falls apart, or over cooked so its soggy... This sushi rice was a perfect texture. The dynamite rolls I got were giant bites, very satisfying one-hitters of flavor. Also had the spicy tuna which is pretty standard go-to that didn't disappoint as well. Between the soup, the few apps I tried, and the glorious amount of sushi that I got, I am now sitting here very satisfied. Also, I saw a few reviews that panned the service, but our waitress was super friendly and attentive all evening, checked in with us quite often throughout... Think my copilot developed a little crush actually. Definitely going to be returning here soon. read more

Good value, great service. Sushi and sashimi are fantastic, The Dynamite roll and sashimi are my favorites. Have eaten here several times, usually mid week. I try to avoid it on weekends. It can get very crowded. Waiting for food at the table can take a while if take-out is too busy, they usually do a good job balancing the takeout and dine-in. You wont be disapointed read more

Nicole is right. Ho's staff includes a bitchy waitress who will argue with you whenever she feels like it, and Ho will just sit and watch. The service has gone downhill and he should fire his wait staff and start over. Last year it was a wonderful restaurant. This year he changed his hours to open at 11:30am instead of 11:00 (maybe so the waitress can get a bit more sleep?), and if you show up a few minutes early they'll stare at the clock until their clock reaches the time when you're allowed to sit. The food used to be great. The service used to be great. I will never eat there again. He doesn't care about his customers and his staff sucks. read more

Visited 9/2/2016. Our food was delicious--I had the Bulgogi Hot Stone Bowl (with miso soup) and my husband got the Nagiri and Maki combo (with hot n sour soup). We started with the spring roll appetizer. All the food was hot and served quickly. Although the food was good, it is not what stood out to us. What stood out was the incredible service and attentiveness that was given by all the staff. Our server answered all our questions and returned to the table several times to check on us (even though the restaurant had become much busier after we came in). We will be back and will bring friends! (The flavor was fantastic on my Bulgogi bowl, but the best part was how the bowl was hot and crisped up the rice while the food cooled. I was tempted not to write a review because I don't want others to find out about this gem, but they do deserve a 5 star rating! The sushi is really great; there's a ton of options of specialty rolls, the prices are reasonable, and I LOVE their ginger tea (I think they sweeten with honey or something). I've had their Korean bowl as well before (a hot bowl with vegetables, rice, meat of choice)- and that was really delicious too. One of my favorite restaurants in the area! read more

I have been going here for years and consider it one of my staples for sushi. The staff has always been pleasant and on top of everything we have needed. The food is really good for the prices. I would recommend dynamite to any one that doesn't need all the hub bub of traditional Japanese sushi bars but want quality food at a great price. read more

Great food, have had take out on several occasions. Last meal I had included veggie rolls, which were fresh crisp and amazing. Miso and hot soup was great, salad was a bit tart and I didn't liked the mustard sauce which was served with the shrimp tempura. I prefer to stick with the traditional tempura sauce. The only complaint besides the high cost was the bland Wasab, no real heat, since I don't remember this being a problem in the past, I might have just gotten a bad batch. I loved coming to Dynamite Sushi on a regular basis roughly ten years ago and decided to come back this year for New Years Eve takeout. Called in our order right when they opened at 11:30 AM for a 6 PM pickup time. But when I went to pickup my order at 6 PM it was complete chaos - cars everywhere in the parking lot waiting for their takeout orders and customers waiting in line at the store front. Eventually paid for my food and was told to wait in my car. Didn't actually get the food until 7 PM. Waiting an hour for pre-ordered takeout food is ridiculous. I totally understand with Covid and it being NYE that things are crazy, just don't think it should come to this. They were still taking more phone orders during this time while yet we were all unable to get our food for a while! The very least they could have done is given us some sort of compensation for waiting for so long, such as a gift card so we could come back later. In any case the food tasted just as delicious as I remembered it being! I think it is probably still a good restaurant and this was just a bad night hiccup for them, I'll probably be coming back again. Just hope they can figure it out logistically! read more

Food was very good, wife had a beautiful avocado salad, I had Dynamite roll. Miso soup was hot and delicious. Just felt like the staff was a problem. Our waitress was very nice, and welcomed us when she found out it was our first time there. We were right next to the sushi bar, and the owner, Mr.Ho never made eye contact, and never said thank you for coming, or uttered a word. Seemed surly and unfriendly. I've ordered take-out lunch from Dynamite many, many times, and I will continue to do so because they have some of the best sushi I have ever tasted, and other really good food, at very reasonable lunch prices. Ho's rice is the best rice I have ever had, and he gives generous portions of fresh fish on both the nigiri and in the rolls. All of Dynamite's employees have always been very friendly to me. I've never experienced the rudeness that some other reviewers have complained about, but then again I have only actually sat down to eat there twice, both times over a year ago. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because, like other reviewers have said, the service is not consistent. They also make errors maybe 1 out of every 5 times I pick up food. It's not that bad, but it gets frustrating. One time, for example, 3 of my miso soups with "M" written on top had hot and sour soup inside. The hot and sour soup was delicious but not what I ordered. To Dynamite's credit, every time I have called them about a problem they have fixed it. They don't deliver though, so if you want the problem fixed that day, you have to drive back. Also, another warning. Make sure Ho is actually working before you place your order. He is almost always there, but if Ho is out for the day, the food quality goes from top-notch to downright nasty. Their amazing sushi rice becomes bland and flavorless, and their curry sauce becomes "cream of salt". read more

My boyfriend and I love sushi and have tried more then a few places around New England, this is by far the best we've had. The only downside would be that the restaurant is a little small so if you go Friday or Saturday we recommend getting there before 6 or you will have to wait, usually about 30ish minutes (in our experience). We haven't tried anything other then sushi but it all looks delicious. Decent selection of drinks, the hot Sake is always a favorite for us. read more

I've visited here a couple of times and overall it was a consistently good experience. The salmon has been so-so at times, but during one visit where it took a little while to get my sushi out to me (it was busy and it was nothing to complain about), Chef Ho sent over a free piece of eel sushi over. I usually don't care for unagi but it was delicious. During my last visit, everything was delicious, from the salmon to the spider rolls. The friendly waitresses and casual atmosphere is also a plus. read more

I LOVE this place & we (me & my coworkers) have the lunch special every single Friday! .... UNTIL NOW!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Dynamite Sushi has stopped serving lunch! They now open at 4pm Mon-Thur, and 3pm on Friday & Saturday, for dinner only. We are all very very sad.
