2/16 FIRST VISIT: My boyfriend and I came to Heritage Bar on February 16 around 2:45 PM. It was pretty quiet since it was early on a Monday. I was deciding between the turkey salad and the Chicken Salad Ciabatta from the lunch specials and asked our server how the chicken salad was, She said it was her favorite and that it was a lot of people's go-to, so I decided to order that. Our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Heritage Nachos, Loaded Tater Tot Skillet, Philly Cheesesteak, and the Chicken Salad Ciabatta. The nachos weren't really for me (I didn't love the type of chips used), but the tots were good and my boyfriend liked his cheesesteak. I absolutely loved the chicken salad sandwich and fries. I get a little fixated on foods I like, so I had honestly been craving that sandwich ever since. 3/14 SECOND VISIT: I decided to come back on March 14 specifically hoping to order the chicken salad sandwich again. It was much busier due to St. Patrick's weekend,I was alone, I was seated in a booth in the back. I was given the dinner menu, so I asked the server about the chicken salad sandwich I had previously ordered. She didn't recognize the sandwich but offered to ask the kitchen after I showed her a photo and the menu from my previous visit. Unfortunately she came back and said they couldn't make it. She suggested a grilled chicken sandwich, but I declined since I'm not really a fan of grilled chicken. I ended up ordering the turkey sandwich and asked for a few modifications (no stuffing or cranberry mayo, just regular mayo on a ciabatta). When the food came out, I immediately knew it wasn't turkey. I waited until the server came back and asked her to confirm what meat was on the sandwich. She initially told me it was turkey. After taking it apart & having a few bites I knew it wasn't turkey. I winded up eating the fries and asking for the bill. I decided to show her the inside of the sandwich again and asked her to double check with the kitchen, she returned and confirmed it was actually ham, even though the ticket showed that she ordered turkey. She did offer to remake the sandwich, but it would have taken another 10-15 minutes and at that point I was already over it. I ended up just paying, and leaving. I completely understand that menus change and servers can't memorize every item. I just wish the sandwich had been confirmed with the kitchen sooner when I questioned it the first time. Overall, my first visit was great, and that chicken salad sandwich was honestly amazing. I just wish the second visit had gone a little smoother. read more

Where to begin? Our appetizers never arrived, and when the main courses were brought out, we had to point out that we were still waiting for them. To make matters worse, one person in our group didn't receive his meal until everyone else had already finished eating. The owner stopped by and casually explained that this "sometimes happens on busy days," and offered us drinks for the inconvenience--but we were still charged for them at the end. When we brought this up to our server, she claimed she wasn't aware of the offer, and we ended up paying full price for everything. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience, with very poor customer service. read more

Heritage is a neighborhood gem. When we lived in Yonkers, we often ate next door at Eileen's. Heritage is the larger of the two establishments, and it stays open later because of its bar aspect. Personally, I prefer Eileen's because of the country feel, and the staff is way more attentive. My last visit here was not the best one. My daughter and I stopped by to kill time before her afternoon class and we were sat quickly, as per usual. The server took pretty long before coming to our table and we she did, she was ready to take our orders, except we never received our menus. She quickly took our drink orders and gave us menus. I already knew thta I wanted soup so I ordered their soup of the day. Both restaurants share the same kitchen so you're going to get good food regardless, but the level of service is way better on the other side. After the food was delivered, it was difficult to get our server's attention. She did not return to the table to ask how we were. I never received silverware and I had to flag down the guy to delivered the food, only to have him yell as the server to come to my table. It's really disjointed at times. We ate here in the summertime, after my daughter's dance recital, and the service was much better. That may have been because we were a larger table, but that should not make a difference. Just because there's a guaranteed gratuity, service should not improve. It should be consistent from bar to table, from solo diner to part of five. It's funny, because every single time we eat at Eileen's, we have a pleasant experience and if it's after 3p, I usually don't even attempt to come here. We had our daughter's communion celebration on a Saturday afternoon and Heritage absolutely did not disappoint from beginning to end. They were attentive and professional throughout the three hour party. We had about 55 people attending, and not one of them left without commenting on how great the experience was. The bar service was fast moving and friendly - nobody waited for drinks - and there was nothing requested that wasn't available. The food was awesome. We had penne vodka, shrimp scampi and rice, chicken francese, salad, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, shepherds pie, mixed veggies, and garlic mashed potatoes. Plenty of dipping sauces and dressings were available. The food was incredible - the shepherds pie was especially amazing - everyone got up for seconds. Eileen (the owner) was very friendly, we had a chance to speak to her when we were starting the party. She beautifully runs this business and it's apparent in everything from the cleanliness, to the decor, to the quality of food and drink, and customer service provided by the staff. We'll recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a party and will 100% return here for our future events. read more

It is a family friendly establishment. One side is the bar area and the other where families can sit with kids. Services was fast. Everyone came and checked on you to make sure everything was going well. Staff friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. The margarita was amazing. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it. The pina colada was not so good. However, the waitress was willing to change it free of charge. Overall service was amazing. Will definitely come back and try other items on the menu! read more

This is my second time using the Speakeasy space for a Baptism dinner and I am so pleased yet again. Delicious food, amazing service, and the most gorgeous setup I could have asked for. Eileen and crew make sure everything is taken care of which is especially helpful with a baby and toddler in tow. While parking is always at the forefront of concerns, our guests have not ever had any issue finding a spot on the local streets. The Speakeasy (and their other event spaces, which I've booked for a babyshower, dinner etc. in the past) are the perfect place to host your next family event! Couldn't recomment more. read more

This place is special. The owner is special. I came here for the first time on September 11 and I was so impressed with the beautiful tribute to Orio Palmer. Orio was a battalion chief who died trying to save my family member and many other peoples lives on September 11, 2001. There's an entire room dedicated to him. On top of that, the food and drink and atmosphere and the entire vibe is awesome! We got the mozzarella sticks, onion rings, coconut, shrimp, and several dinners and sampler platters and everyone loved their food. I highly recommend this place. read more

My friend and I both got one drink and sat at a booth. One hour later I go to the bar to pick up my card and the bartender hands it to me with an annoyed look on his face. I go back to the booth and realize that I forgot the recipe so I go back to the bar and see the bartender writing on the merchant receipt and giving himself a 70% tip or 10$ from a 16$ bill. I ask him why did he do that and he blamed me for leaving before he could give me the receipt and that they usually charge a 20% tip. I was baffled at his response. He noticed and automatically issued a refund without me saying anything to which I signed a new merchant receipt after he ran a new transaction without his 70% self given tip. He then tells me not to worry about this which again leaves me surprised and annoyed that he isn't taking accountability. Days have passed and I see both charges on my account with no refund. This was by far the most disappointing bar experience I've ever had. It's unfortunate because the place seemed okay but the bartender gave us a scammy and irritating experience. I recommend avoiding this place since there are so many other bars within the area that have given us way better service and are welcoming read more

Just had an enjoyable breakfast here this morning. Our server Ryan was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We ate in the Eileen's side which was casual, with nice lighting and was not noisy. I had the croissant melt (yum!) which came with deliciously crispy home fries and my daughter had the eggs Benedict which was also very good. Our server made a very tasty iced hazelnut latte which my daughter loved. read more

Had a terrible experience here last night. My friend and I both ordered the salmon dish as it was the less pricey fish option. It was oily, salty and did not look, smell or taste like a fresh piece of fish. The waitress was extremely rude and wore a very strong cologne. A few minutes after she delivered the food she came by and said "Everything ok." We tried to tell her that it wasn't and she walked away. When we were about to pay the check we tried to tell her again that it wasn't satisfactory, she said - "Why you not tell me before?" She dropped the check, walked away. A few minutes later, a gentleman came over and asked if he could help us - when we tried to explain that this meal did not measure up to our last experience at the restaurant or $45.00, he replied with, 'why didn't we tell him?' My friend said - "...we didn't see you." He want on to say - next time, we should tell him, that's how they'll get better, bla bla..." He ended up taking $40.00 off of the bill - the cost of the wine. If you're looking for a cheese board or an interesting salad - you'll find that. Fresh fish - go elsewhere - perhaps another town. Hopefully this was an off night with the B or C list staff. read more

We went there today for Father's Day and my birthday and had a wonderful experience. We started with the sampler platter for the 4 of us and it was the biggest and highest quality sampler platter we've ever had. More than half went home with my parents. For meals 2 of us had the eggs Benedict with steak fries, one had the McLean Ave breakfast and one had the sliders. Everything was delicious and staff was extremely polite and attentive. Our service was Ryan and he was extremely efficient and helpful as was every other staff member we encountered. This will be our new family meet up spot as it's in the middle of all of us located throughout Long Island, Queens and Westchester, thank you for a great day. read more

Day before at paddy's. One of my favorite bar restaurants in the area. Unfortunately have to knock a star or two off. Based on customers mainly. While staff seemingly are wearing masks one or two wear it below the nose. Many many male customers walked in without wearing masks. Staff is not asking them to produce or wear their masks before entering. Staff is friendly as it is. Trying not to be sexist but it is what it is. Quite a few folks wandering around without masks and talking on phones, going to bathrooms without masks. No distancing at the bar whatsoever. You seat yourself apart but nothing prevents anyone from sitting right next to you. The covid is far from over. No time to be letting guard down. Other restaurants in the area are doing their part. Came here for the first time to meet up with some friends after his suggestion that we come here. The ambiance is nice with the restaurant on one side and the bar on the other, it is spacious with plenty of seats, very comfortable booth style seating as well. The staff was very nice and attentive, it was busy but our server made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The breakfast menu is pretty good with sandwiches, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc. We had the scones which were awesome toasted with butter, my wife had the Belgian waffle that she liked, I went with the eggs Florentine which was amazing with a side of home fries, the food here was great and fresh I really like the authentic Irish feel of this place, seems like a neighborhood place, if I'm in the area again I'd definitely be back! read more

Just left the Heritage / Eileen's and had breakfast at their outdoor dining area on the first day of the Labor Day Weekend. The weather was perfect. Our waiter was Sean Danger and he was delightful. Great small talk, shows genuine interest in who you are while being professional and providing excellent service. The whole crew hustles and are focused on quality service with respect for the customers. They had plenty of social distancing, cleaning and hand sanitizer . Heritage is one of the best spots on McLean Ave. The service is fast and friendly, and their food is hard to beat. It is some of the best Irish food in all of Yonkers. On top of that, it offers a close experience to traditional pubs back in Ireland. The staff was incredibly accommodating for a large group on short notice. We will be back very soon! read more

Came here 4 a private party, our pastors retirement party. We were seated in their private dining section on the left side away from the main bar in the center of the Heritage. Two female bartenders/waitresses ran the ship, from serving drinks, to bringing out bread & butter. They did a great job making sure everything was taken care of. The Irish soda bread is so delicious. They really should sell it as part of some bakery inside. It's THAT good! We had a few Guinness and then we were told to go up to the self serve food stations. They served salmon in a butter/gravy type sauce w/ lemon on the side, breaded chicken w/ a brown gravy, potato croquettes, which were tasty, carrots w/peas, and a meat pot pie that masqueraded as a lasagna. All the food was solid and hit the spot. I would say 8 1/2 out if 10 as far as freshness and tastiness. Great local bar/restaurant that does a good job of being a great local bar as well as preparing solid restaurant type food when your hungry. And it's not your typical "bar food", it's soo much more. First let me start by saying that I am not Irish. However, I have been to Ireland many times, my best friend is Irish, and I visited The Heritage with another Irish friend. The place is aesthetically pleasing. The doorman, patrons, and the servers were very nice. It was a Sunday night and they have traditional Irish music band. I'm not a huge fan of Irish music however the band was very good and it was not overly loud so if you are sitting at the bar you can still have conversation. Now on to why I only gave two stars: I ordered a dirty martini at the bar and it was awful. It wasn't very cold and the olives were soggy and old. My friend and I then moved on to have dinner at a table. the place was not crowded at all but the wait staff seem to be running around as if it were. It was difficult to get somebody over to our table and when we did we had to ask for things like bread, our drinks, etc. We both ordered the bacon cabbage and potatoes. Neither of us liked it very much. It was edible but the bacon could have used a bit more cooking so that it was more tender. We were both very happy with the bread. Overall I think I will try it again because it was a pleasant atmosphere read more
